@Swiket - perhaps it is, I agree, but I don't wish to take any chances. The reason I didn't buy it at the time was because I was ordering SNES games from eBay, and even when I did go to stores, something else always caught my attention.
Software pirates, hmmph! They ruin everything! >=(
For a personal example: I was given Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride for the DS a few years ago (little did I know that I was given a pirated copy), curious to try a Dragon Quest game for the first time, and the first few minutes it wasn't so bad, all I had to was talk to everyone on board the boat in the beginning of the game. I did, which should've caused the boat to dock to the next area, but it never happened. So I decided to try over and over again, but nothing kept happening. It was because of this misfortune that's made me swear to myself to never play a Dragon Quest game again, even if the likelihood of their piracy is slim. And you know who's to blame for that??
Pirates! Software Pirates!!
Those scum ruined my foray into the Dragon Quest series and have scared me from trying another one; they deserve to get caught, every last one of them!!! I will never forgive them for this, NEVER!
So let me get this straight:
an online user buys electronics just to microwave them
for the sake of what said user considers "entertainment"
and then goes to sell his burned items on sites like eBay, expecting people to buy them??
I don't get people sometimes; what goes on in some peoples' minds is a real mystery
Well, look at the bright side: at least their version won't give a certain user's childhood hero (of many) an ugly redesign for a quick cash grab and wind up ruining their childhood in the process.
Good list, though I'm surprised that Kirby's Return to Dream Land wasn't on it (I know I said the said thing about the previous article about the Wii, but I'm just flabbergasted that not one shout out was made for it in both articles). Kirby's Epic Yarn is awesome, too, don't get me wrong, but the aforementioned game just tops it by a mile, imo. The Super Mario Galaxy games are two of the best 3D Mario games of all time. Wii Sports is always a fun time.
I'd have given it an 8, but a 6 is not a bad score. Kirby's Air Ride is a really fun racing game, as I've always enjoyed it for roughly nine years now, and it's my eighth favorite Kirby game of all time.
Donkey Kong Country has just such a great amount of music that really compliments both the atmosphere and mood. I love David Wise's music in the first game! "Aquatic Ambience" is one of the best video game songs ever heard on Nintendo's 16-bit console, and one of my countless favorites; I get chills whenever I listen to it.
Those are some great screenshots, and when I saw that one screenshot with Mickey and Aladdin before clicking on the article, the background around them reminded me of the SNES version of Disney's Aladdin. Also, the movie's awesome; one of my favorites from Disney.
Just two more months! I can't wait for Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion to come out!
I really like this game. Sure, it was different (just like Ys III: Wanderers from Ys was different from most Ys games), but it didn't make it such a bad thing as far as I'm concerned. The sidescrolling aspect was nice, and the leveling up elements (like an RPG) was a nice touch, too. It's nowhere near as excellent as The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past or even The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, but Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is a fun, good game all on its own, and it's one of favorites in the series.
Honestly, I strongly feel this game totally trumps the first one.
The Game Boy Wave Race, from what I've played over at an acquaintance's house several years ago, I thought was decent. I never played the Nintendo 64 and GameCube iterations.
I'm surprised that this game is being remade!
Jordan Mechner's classic Karateka is fun, with good controls and rather impressively fluid animation for its time (I know rotoscoping was used for Prince of Persia, and I'm certain that technique was used for this game as well, if I'm not mistaken)
That was a good article, Jamie! I enjoyed reading it. Super Mario Sunshine was one of my very first GameCube games growing up (it was back in Christmas '02), and I think it was the first 3D Mario platformer I played (I didn't play Super Mario 64 until years later). I still like the game; it looks great, plays decently, and the atmosphere is very nice, but the game could be hard at times. It's a good game in its own right; it's not my favorite 3D Mario title (that award goes to Super Mario Galaxy), but imo it's fun. One of the few Mario titles I haven't beaten (even all these years later).
Even though Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island is technically more of a Yoshi game, I'll always consider it as a Mario game (since he is in it, albeit as an infant); and I can understand why some wouldn't

@SteveW - yes, it was a pirated cart
Re: In Need Of A Portable Super Nintendo? Look No Further
@Shiryu - Everdrive? Interesting; it was the image of Paper Mario that caught my eye
Either way, it looks good, but I think I'll stick with my SNES console

That's still a memorably funny The Simpsons moment, lol! But yeah, seizures are a very serious issue.
I knew about that seizure-related Pokémon moment in Japan.
