The people who come up with these censorship ideas really should be rejected by the Australian public! If the people can force their government to ban cattle exports to Indonesia, it must surely be possible to make their politicians fire some tax-wasting no-good hypocritical censorship-officials. Viva la Revolución Amigo!
Ahh, this looks great! I hope this game will get a world-wide release, and not stay limited to Japan. I'm so looking forward to this game... it ain't funny anymore!
In Holland the Nintendo 3DS costs between €244 (£214, $343) and €250 (£220, $352). But big differences can be found in the price of the games. Most shops charge €50 (£44, $70) per game, but some (MediaMarkt & Saturn) ask €40 (£35, $56) per game. Now all of these high prices I call daylight robbery!
The long delay to release Kirby in Europe is definitely to blame for any disappointing sales. In the beginning the hype was fresh and people couldn't wait to buy a fun and highly original game. Now everyone save the die-hard Kirby fans (comme moi) remembered the release date and couldn't wait. Now in Dutch shops the game isn't even displayed on a top location. It's just placed in the racks between the other games. Also they dare to ask 50E for it so I ordered mine from the UK for 37E (incl. shipping). Simultaneous world-wide releases are the way to go, the way forward, the only fair and good future.
How could I've forgotten yesterday's release? However, in my defense, I do remember not seeing it at the game shop. Nonetheless and notwithstanding the current downpour from mother nature I will bravely face the elements and swiftly without any further ado venture out on a quest of Kirbianesque proportions to buy this truly epic game immediately. Hurray for Kirby!
Ahh, finally... will it took long enough to get here. But finally "Shantae Risky's Revenge" gives me the excuse to upgrade my beloved DS to a DSiXL and make my first DSiWare purchace. This game just looks so cute and fun! After almost 5 months I can hardly wait anymore... but just one week to go. Now just need to decide on whether to buy a yellow or a dark brown one... the limited edition red ones have disappeared from the shops... although they weren't sold-out at all. Wandering what they do with the unsold limited editions? Probably recycle them as food for Pokemons.
After all the devastating floods in Queensland and hurricane Yasi, not releasing "Shantae Risky's Revenge" is just cruel, cold-hearted and unexcusable. It's not like they are just ignoring a small country, Australia is a complete continent!
This game looks so good, I hope it will get a worldwide release soon! And I also hope that they will include the original Japanese language sound, with English subtitles. (Please no dubbing unless it is done perfectly, which it often isn't.)
Actually that limited edition red Mario 25 year anniversary DSi XL looks a bit boring compared to these Pokemon designs. Why didn't they make similarly nice graphics on the special Mario DSi XL? I was quite disappointed with the star, mushroom and whatever on the red DSi XL.
Especially the white one looks great... however... why is it only available as DSi and not as DSi XL (or DSi LL)... why? I'm thinking of replacing my old DS for the DSi XL eventhough the 3DS is coming out soon. But in a small DSi I'm totally not interested even such pretty ones as these.
I'm really looking forward to playing "Nintendogs + Cats" but I will definitely stay well away from these carrying cases. They're not cute at all. Why can't they make something more cute but also stylish? This is just for small children who like creepy stuff or something like that... anyway...
Ahh, still no "Shantae - Risky's Revenge"... why is Nintendo tormenting us so? Anyway... will get "Magical Drop III" instead so I can control my impatience.
I think it would be nice if Nintendo includes a complimentary Japanese Language Course with every new 3DS system sold. Then in a matter of time games can be released world-wide on the same day as they appear in the Land of the Rising Sun. Or... less costly they could include a complimentary English Language Course with every 3DS sold in Japan. But I think that learning Japanese can be fun if Nintendo made the Curriculum.
Woah! £299.99 that's €360, or even more nauseating it's 793 Gulden! I feel sick now... no matter how much I want a Nintendo 3DS, I'm not crazy! Yes, the Netherlands Guilders are obsolete and no longer legal tender, but it does give an accurate feeling for the actual value of things if you're still familiar with the old prices of things. These prices are like daylight robbery!
Most of the games I play are imported or bought during trips to Asia! I truly hate any kind of region-lock. What the hell are they thinking at Nintendo! This is the worst decision they could make, especially for a portable (holiday) machine! I really hope that they reconsider. Instead they should add multi-language support for each game. So all Japanese games also have English and all American or European games also have Japanese. Region-locks only play into the hands of pirates. Nintendo is betraying their loyal real customers.
Nintendogs + Cats will be my title of choice! I'm soooo looking forward to it! It would be even better if you can somehow "import" a puppy from the original Nintendogs. I still care so much about my first puppy that I got 5 years ago, a very sweet Shih-Tzu.
Nintendogs + Cats will be my title of choice! I'm soooo looking forward to it! It would be even better if you can somehow "import" a puppy from the original Nintendogs. I still care so much about my first puppy that I got 5 years ago, a very sweet Shih-Tzu.
At first I was excited about the prospect of playing a new music game on my Wii. And the graphics looked beautiful and cute. But after reading your review I am disappointed. So thanks for the warning. I hope the makers take note and re-invent a better sequel. Also someone should release "Taiko no Tatsujin" (a hyper-cute fun Japanese taiko drum game) to Europe! Keep the Japanese songs, just make the menu's English. There are some truly great music games out there. So why do we in Europe & America only get the bad ones like "Violin Paradise"?
Region locking is almost criminal in my opinion. If Nintendo has any kind of respect for it's dear customers they should NOT have region locking. Especially not for a portable hand-held console. Portable consoles are ideal for taking abroad on a holiday. I would go even further and say that also multi-language support should become standard. Wouldn't it be great to just buy some fantastic games in Japan and simply select English from the menu? I had a hard time figuring out what everything in "Taiko no Tatsujin DS" meant and this game is simply awesome! Also I believe that no-region lock will prevent piracy as a way for gamers to get what they want. So no-region-lock and multi-language is the way of the future. Next step is ending country borders and uniting the whole world. So there will no longer be Americans, Chinese, English, French, Persians, Indians, etc... but just humans. Yeah!
I hope that this game will also be released in Europe. In Japan it is rated "A", which means "for everyone", but it seems Americans are a lot more "sensitive" so it is rated "10+" in USA. Now I wonder what will happen in Europe. In UK probably 18+ hahaha, in Germany any blood must be coloured green (instead of red, hahaha) and in Holland - where even XXX movies are rated as 16+ (sometimes 18+, but that is just to boost sales, they are actually rated 16+) this game will probably be 3+. Anyway... as long as these kind of wakky fun typical Japanese weirdness and humour is released world-wide I am happy. And I hope that they have language options, like Japanese voice with English subtitles. That will probably be light-years better than any English voice-over or any "Deutsche Synchronfassung oder Nachsynchroniserung" hahaha.
Hé, the people that actually made this game are also on writing on this forum! That's great! And it was a really wise & considerate idea to give the game to "Omega" (from Germany) as a present! This is exactly the kind of stuff that creates lots of goodwill and support. And now I also saw that it was actually Nintendo, not Digital Leisure, who decided that the SD-card couldn't be used for exporting. So thanks Digital Leisure for creating the possibility, albeit a little cumbersome, to export our creations. Now I'm going to use my songs as background-music for my YouTube uploads. Suddenly feeling very creative! (_)
Was never interested in these kind of games until "Wario D.I.Y." on the NDS. Now I'm definitely going to buy "Mix Superstar" for WiiWare. But I'm not so keen on the extra tunes we need to buy to upgrade the game. I hate this marketing-scheme: slowly bit by bit taking our money with in-game purchases and extra non gratuit downloadable content. Still the game seems like a lot of fun. Would be best if the created songs can simply be exported to a SD-card. But no... we have to cumbersomely download it via their website.
Yeaah! Finally. So happy that Cave Story is finally available in Europe on WiiWare. Next thing: Shantae's Revenge for the DSiWare in Europe! But now that I have Cave Story I can have a little, but just a little, bit of patience for the release of Shantae's Revenge.
Great idea would be to add wi-fi and Skype to the Nintendo 3DS. I'm sure it could compete with Facetime on the iPhone4. Using Skype would be a much more open platform compared to the closed Apple structure. So Nintendo doesn't need to add any real phone function, like the new PSP might have, but just good old Skype to be used with wi-fi. And about the safety aspect, Nintendo could add a simple parental control function. I would love to Skype some friend in China just by using my Nintendo 3DS at a free wi-fi hotspot (like at McDonalds).
It might be that many gamers are switching from Nintendo DS and PSP to playing simple games on their mobile phones. This might have many reasons: 1) people carry their phone with them all the time, so it's convenient; 2) games are cheaper. But I believe that true quality always will sell. Games like New Super Mario Bros DS, Kirby, Nintendogs, Prof. Layton, Dragon Quest IX, will always be way for fun. And the DSiWare store could become a rival over iTunes but then it needs more quality. Also iTunes might have tons of cheap games, but many are just a waste of money. There are only a few pearls on iTunes. Sooner or later people will realize this. And maybe also cross-platform compatibility could be another solution. Also there is a new console just around the corner! I'm sure that the Nintendo 3DS will bring back many gamers. Maybe some users are just waiting a bit, not feeling too eager to spend 30-40 euros on a DS game at the moment. Anyway, when the 3DS hits the world's streets it will be an instant hit and people will forget their phone games for a while.
Yes, it is true. Indeed there is still high demand for the possibility to buy old games and old consoles brand new. My old "fat" Nintendo DS is broken. And although the new DSi XL is better in every way. Simply for nostalgic and all the sentimental reasons I would want to be able to just go to a toy shop and buy a new "old" console and games. Online prices are skyrocketing for good items. The rest are worthless. That's the problem. Not everything is good. Anyway... I am very happy that there is such a thing as Virtua Console. (_)
Why is everything suddenly "epic"? I mean, there's Epic Mickey and Kirby's Epic Yarn. Why not simply "Mickey" or "Mickey Mouse" and simply "Kirby Wii" or just a big pink "K" on a box? Why make everything epic?
It's simply no good business to release "Kirby Epic Yarn" for the Wii just after the Nintendo 3DS is released. NOW, amongst all the "Call of Duty - Black Ops" and "Gran Turismo 5" is the opportunity to stand out with originality and quality. I would definitely pick Kirby over those two great titles. Also in only a couple of days it will be Sinterklaas in Holland. So what better gift could there be than a brand new beautiful fun Kirby game?
I just hope that they will have language options. It would be great if the story is in Japanese and subtitled in English. Or some decent English voice acting. But I feel completely nauseated contemplating a Dutch voice-over. Some Professor Layton games are completely dubbed into Dutch without the option of changing the language. It is just awful! And for all of those French, Spanish, Italian and German children. You have wonderful languages, especially the French, but now "everyone" has to wait for the translation. Why doesn't everyone just use English as an international auxiliary language? It will make the world a much easier place! And then all of those great Japanese games that are never translated could be played by everyone. I mean, who wouldn't love to play "Love Plus" or "Kyaba Joppi" for the Nintendo 3DS?
@ Linkstrikesback Ah, yes, you are right. I was thinking it's Japanese because the game is made by Daisuke Amaya. So it is a Japanese & American "conspiracy" to keep Europeans waiting. Hahaha! Anyway... I'm happy it's released in Europe too.

So the pricing is fair.
