Re: Feature: Memorable Zelda Moments

The part in Wind Waker where the Tower of the Gods arises from the depths of the ocean. After placing the pearls on the three pedestals on the Triangle Isles, Link is hurled against the walls of this memorable dungeon. Epic, with a touch of humour.

Re: Japan Gets Super Street Fighter II with Online Play on VC

That's a great move. I hope this inspires developers to put a little more effort into their VC releases in the future. Many classic games on XBLA already have added content like online modes, so why not on Wii VC, which is the main platform on any system for classic titles at the moment.

Re: Feature: Staff Memories of the Game Boy Advance

So many fond memories of this baby. I didn't pick one up until the SP released, but I definitely caught up over the years, partially because of the DS Lite's backward compatability, which I choose over downloadable DSi games any day. Having that 16-bit SNES feeling in the palm of your hand was such a remarkable thing to experience.

Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii)

Rensch

OK, I managed to find just one copy of this game in the entire town. I just played it for an hour or so, but am already blown away by the sheer scope and open-ended nature of the game world. The characters look a bit rough up close, but the armour is reflected in the game. Sure, the game may have looked way better on a more powerful system, but the excellent art direction of the game makes up for that!

@ThumperUK: Thanks for mentioning that, I would not have seen that myself.

EDIT: The ZIP-file doesn't work! It's corrupted or something, downloading it again does not work...

Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii)

Good to see it sells well. That'll be the best reason to release a North American edition of this game.

If it doesn't get released; here's your Chrono Trigger North America. (eventually that game got a re-release on Wii and DS, so hope is always there)

In the meantime, I'm off to town to pick up what looks like one of the Wii's absolute finest, thus adding a great game to my collection while also making the possibilty of our North American friends to get it one day.

Re: Talking Point: What Was the Best Super NES Game Ever?

Rensch

Chrono Trigger!

It excells in storytelling, graphics, music, characters and gameplay. It doesn't have an overly complicated battle system, yet manages to remain deep and add some innovations much needed at the time. The most notable one is how battles play out directly on the field, instead of those annoying random battles.

Chrono Trigger is absolutely unforgettable in any possible way.

Re: Talking Point: The Great Nintendo 3DS Price Drop Debate

Rensch

I'm interested in picking one up now. Not just because you can get them as cheaply as €160,- but also because there finally seems to be a decent line-up coming together.

Fancy this: The other day I saw a DSi XL that was actually €10,- more expensive than the 3DS lying next to it.

Re: Investors Urge Nintendo to Develop for Smartphones

Rensch

As long as smartphones do not provide an alternative for hardcore experiences, and are only capable of running casual things like Angry Birds, I prefer a good old gaming-centered system like 3DS or the new PS Vita. The day a game like Ocarina of Time would be properly playable on a smartphone is still not upon us, and will not be for a few years at least.
