This series is why I'd like GCN on the virtual console. Great versions of RE 0, 1, 2, 3 & Veronica got released there. I'd love to have those on the Wii U
Bart's Nightmare would be a good one for the remix treatment, the individual bits of the games were good but the whole thing never tied together well. Breaking it up into mini games would make it play a lot nicer
The whole thing has been a massive disappointment. Fewer systems than the Wii, less powerful systems than the Wii and a real shoddy selection of games thus far. I can't see anything other than a surprise release of GCN games recovering it at this point (which is what everyone expected in the first place). The VC was a big selling point of the Wii, on the Wii U it's an irrelevance as they've screwed it up so badly.
Shame, it looks like Elite Dangerous will fall short as well (asking for an eye watering 1.25 million GBP). I think the main issue with these things is there is no profit sharing on Kickstarter (due to laws on investment I believe). Without that I'd never want to chuck in more than pocket change and I don't think it's realistic to expect people to put in a large sum of money to support the project without getting it back if the project is commercially successful (the amount Elite has attracted to date has really surprised me though).
Shame its not done on Wii U I quite like it on the xbox, not having done the last jigsaw in Banjo's house means I don't feel like I've 100%ed it as its a trophy even though I've done everything else in the game.
@Aviator I haven't criticised him, I've just said Miyamoto is clearly much more of a success than him which means he's not in the best position to criticise his vision. You don't have to be an expert to see Miyamoto has a better track record than Molyneux at taking gaming forward. Anyone can see that.
From my own experience I saw nothing great in the following before they were released: Mario Kart, Mario 64, the iPhone, the iPad. In hindsight I wasn't qualified to judge them. If you're not as visionary as the person who came up with the idea you can judge it's potential as well.
Shigeru Miyamoto has been much more prolific than Molyneux at producing games that are fun and have stood the test of time (when was the last time I played Populous, back in the early 90s, compared to Donkey Kong - this year). I don't think he's really qualified to criticise if Nintendo have a good vision or not given the massive difference in their success compared to his (it's like Hanson criticizing Madonna's music).
I doubt anyone is only time will tell if Nintendo's strategy will work. I won't write it off at this stage.
Doesn't seem to answer the main question, if we lose/break our Wii can we just buy a new system, register our Nintendo ID and get our purchases back? That scenario seems to have been avoided and it's the main reason not to like system tied purchases.

Re: Video: This Japanese Super Mario 3D World Trailer Is Six Minutes Of Pure Platforming Bliss
It's amazing how good this looks now compared to how boring it looked when unveiled. They did the same thing to me with NSMBU

Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!
Re: Nintendo Preparing A New Chapter For eBooks On 3DS This Fall
Agree with @zenarium , don't think the 3DS is good enough resolution wise to be an ebook reader
Re: Talking Point: New Super Luigi U Opens The Door For Quick Expansions in Other Franchises
Perhaps we might see dlc on the vc games, a remixed Super Mario World or LttP?

Re: Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Trailer Brings the Madness
Never really a fan of the Tekken or Soul Calibur games, would prefer if the Street Fighter or Virtua Fighter series got released on Wii U
