Re: Popular Video Game Music YouTube Channel Receives 1,300 Copyright Claims From Nintendo

As with video games, I personally still purchase the physical media form for music I enjoy including many complete soundtracks listed in GilvaSunner's list. However, I prefer listening to my music digitally, so I rip my CDs and place the tracks on a cloud storage where they're accessible by all my devices. While I sometimes need to research various music selling outlets beyond Amazon for the best deals, the result is ad free music (downloaded or steamed) that only I can take down.

@Heavyarms55 with all due upmost respect, the fact that you haven't heard about them only suggests that you haven't heard about them. They have a regular and very large presence in game conventions such as the Portland Retro Gaming Expo. They're operated by a number of major players in the gaming industry (hence the second link) with strong associations to very popular gaming content creators. Some of the biggest contributions to game preservation like dumping the Sim City NES prototype was done by them. In fact, NintendoLife wrote an article about this and even referenced the Video Game History Foundation as the responsible party.

Anyway, now you know

Re: Switch Online Members Will Soon Be Able To Play Pokkén Tournament DX For Free

PixelPerfect

I bought this on the Wii U and again on the Switch. I enjoy Pokken Tournament a lot, but all my competition comes from online (they have both casual and ranked). Both versions of the game are very weird to play locally with another player because it requires another console and an additional game to maintain a fair camera angle at over 30FPS. The game itself is very unique and plays like no other fighting game out there. If you're a competitive fighting game player like me you'll know that comes with its ups and downs. I'm glad Nintendo is attempting to breath a third life into this iteration of the game. While I'm not optimistic, I do hope to see a surge in persisting players.

Re: The Pokémon Company Threatens To "Permanently Ban" Players Who Deliberately Disconnect From Battles

Commenters complaining about not being able to play online with bad internet, please note there are multiple options to battle online.
Some modes, particularly Casual, tracks no records of any kind and even provides you an option to leave mid-battle. Players with bad internet are not without options.

Ranked mode is for the super competitive. It makes sense that rules are enforced to ensure the integrity of the win-loss records.

Re: Nintendo Forgot That You Can't Complete StarTropics Without The Original NES Manual

When I was younger I rented StarTropics for the weekend, which did not come with the booklet or letter. Needless to say, I was stuck early in the game and it wasn't clear on what was needed to progress. I wandered aimlessly in-game for hours trying everything I could think of, including starting all over multiple times. I would end up learning about the correct code from a friend at school weeks, if not months, later. When I rented the game a second time I finally got on the submarine and progressed even further only to discover: I do not like StarTropics. NES LIFE YO!

Re: Review: Mario Party: Island Tour (3DS)

At first I was really kicking myself for not adding this to my Super Mario 3D World and A Link Between Worlds purchase. Not so much now.

In the future, Nintendo needs to not release 3 products the very same time. That's poor planning.
