mario kart didnt drop and probably never will. This one is perhaps the most important one to get digital. the kind of game thats is great to have now and then without swaping your kart :-=)

i bashed and ranted about the WiiU recently.
but i gave it a serious thought. First i wanted to buy the PS4 at launch. then i remembered a couple of things...
EVERY sony consoles had hardware problems at launch, some were quite serious. Shipping a console and waiting for it for months before having it back is cruel. My ps1 and ps2 had a lot fo problems, and i had to buy many revision models before it got fine. I bought the PS3 slim last year, late to the party! (when it finally was affordable)
This NEVER happened to me with nintendo. the biggest issues i had with a Nintendo console was a loose hinge from the DS and a topscreen mark from the 3DS. geez. oh yeah, i had to blow into my NES carts to make then run fine but...that was kinda fun anyway. And also, EVERY nintendo consoles i own/owned never broke and always lasted until the next gen and beyond
then, the WiiU will have at least 2 amazing years before the ps4 and xbox will have truly set their place, so if we want to enjoy the best years of the WiiU, its at launch.
Nintendo also releases masterpieces late in their consoles lifespans. Zelda titles usually come late. smash brothers will probably be out in 3 years, giving the console turbo lifespan. my gamecube had this game playing from start to end.
So that makes buying Nintendo WiiU at launch a very viable choice, and you can wait 2 or 3 years to get the PS4 at a lower price, maybe with 1 revision and a more solid game library and used games market running.
plus you get to enjoy the WiiU thru all tis lifespan too,which is always fun with nintendo consoles. (except the Wii, cause it was a fail.)
incredible handheld collection. great the see the 3ds has some backup batteries to power it up. i have the nyko, but i didnt hear about the mugen yet. maybe ill switch. 4 hours or so of difference really is a big deal.
i skipped the Wii, cause lets be honest, it was a fail.
so...maybe it wont be a day one buy, but this time at least, the console looks quite fun and features many things i would like to try. ill see revies and let it grow a couple of months and see hwat happens.
GTA on nintendo ? welll... i just dont know. ill get the PS3 version since i will play with friends. (and they dont plan to get a WiiU) but if it ever comes out, idsay its quite promising for the next 2 years for nintendo. then the ps4 will BOOM it with higher-end titles bah, we will see.
well. at first i was mad. no online feature on the 3ds version, what a shame. but then again, after playing kid icarus and heroes of ruins online, i must say their multiplayer side werent much of an enjoyment to me. the features were there, functionned better than I expected. yet, found them...bland. i prefer my handheld experience offline, as a single player affaire.
the fact that im 30 y.o. is a turn off for playing online games, unless i play with friends. I usually end up playing with very young people ill keep my online playing on PS3 (and who knows...WiiU ?)
wait. WiiU PRO controller ? does that mean that the regular North American premium pack doesnt include one ? (only a tablet if i read it right) this suxass. i dont know how much they will sell that wiiu pro thing separately, but that means the wiiU will cost more at launch for those who need a second controller, which is mostly everyone :-/
@Kirk yeah, thats why you simply have to wait a year so there is a fair used games market going on, maybe a console price revision, reviews and system updates.
and you can bet they will lower their price when the next generation consoles will be out there. (PS4 and Xbox720. WiiU is NOT next gen, its current gen update. PC rigs can be way beyond WiiU hardware.)

349.99 for the console, the hdmi cable, the tablet, a premium online service plus nintendo land seems fairs to me. i would have bought nintendo land and the cable anyway, which, even at 249$ price point would have cranked high up to that 349.99.
so yeah, i was pissed when i saw 400$ estimated price, now im fine with at 350. for a system launch, its rather cheap too.

EVERY sony consoles had hardware problems at launch, some were quite serious. Shipping a console and waiting for it for months before having it back is cruel. My ps1 and ps2 had a lot fo problems, and i had to buy many revision models before it got fine. I bought the PS3 slim last year, late to the party! (when it finally was affordable)
This NEVER happened to me with nintendo. the biggest issues i had with a Nintendo console was a loose hinge from the DS and a topscreen mark from the 3DS. geez. oh yeah, i had to blow into my NES carts to make then run fine but...that was kinda fun anyway. And also, EVERY nintendo consoles i own/owned never broke and always lasted until the next gen and beyond
then, the WiiU will have at least 2 amazing years before the ps4 and xbox will have truly set their place, so if we want to enjoy the best years of the WiiU, its at launch.
Nintendo also releases masterpieces late in their consoles lifespans. Zelda titles usually come late. smash brothers will probably be out in 3 years, giving the console turbo lifespan. my gamecube had this game playing from start to end.
So that makes buying Nintendo WiiU at launch a very viable choice, and you can wait 2 or 3 years to get the PS4 at a lower price, maybe with 1 revision and a more solid game library and used games market running.
plus you get to enjoy the WiiU thru all tis lifespan too,which is always fun with nintendo consoles. (except the Wii, cause it was a fail.)

great the see the 3ds has some backup batteries to power it up. i have the nyko, but i didnt hear about the mugen yet. maybe ill switch. 4 hours or so of difference really is a big deal.

i skipped the Wii, cause lets be honest, it was a fail.
so...maybe it wont be a day one buy, but this time at least, the console looks quite fun and features many things i would like to try. ill see revies and let it grow a couple of months and see hwat happens.

well. at first i was mad. no online feature on the 3ds version, what a shame.
but then again, after playing kid icarus and heroes of ruins online, i must say their multiplayer side werent much of an enjoyment to me.
the features were there, functionned better than I expected. yet, found them...bland.
i prefer my handheld experience offline, as a single player affaire.
the fact that im 30 y.o. is a turn off for playing online games, unless i play with friends. I usually end up playing with very young people
ill keep my online playing on PS3 (and who knows...WiiU ?)

this suxass. i dont know how much they will sell that wiiu pro thing separately, but that means the wiiU will cost more at launch for those who need a second controller, which is mostly everyone :-/

yeah, thats why you simply have to wait a year so there is a fair used games market going on, maybe a console price revision, reviews and system updates.
and you can bet they will lower their price when the next generation consoles will be out there. (PS4 and Xbox720. WiiU is NOT next gen, its current gen update. PC rigs can be way beyond WiiU hardware.)

allright. now that the NA prices are official. i must revise my jugement.
349.99 for the console, the hdmi cable, the tablet, a premium online service plus nintendo land seems fairs to me.
i would have bought nintendo land and the cable anyway, which, even at 249$ price point would have cranked high up to that 349.99.
so yeah, i was pissed when i saw 400$ estimated price, now im fine with at 350. for a system launch, its rather cheap too.
still gonna wait for system updates, used games availability and maybe a price drop. i wont do the 3DS at launch mistake again ( i love my 3DS and dont regret it. i only regret the 100 dollars i paid)

the console will fail, then they will drop the price. then it will be at a reasonable price for you to buy it.
plus, you dont even know the launch titles.
they had me with the 3DS last year. i had to wait 6 months before playing a great 3ds game, which was at the same time they cut their system price.
that console will be fun for sure. but not at this price, and certainly it will NOT follow the game trends in 2-3 years due to the lack of raw power. Devs will have to reduce their game engiens for nintendo while they will have freedom for the other consoles. making third party titles...less attractive, or rushed. or simply not present.

i had a charging stand with my 3ds. you know where it is ? in its original box. its a waste. a gimmick.
mind that im sure i can have fun with it, im not worried there. the problem is they ask way too much for hardware that is already outdated. nintendo failed at making it come with a tablet instead of a standard gamepad, boosting their price point for a gadget while reducing the console hardware power to cope with the tablet production price.
id rather get the next sony (or microsoft for xbox fans) where I will have a multitask console with raw power to accept the latest game engines,physics,graphics and that for a longer time period. plus, ive grown to enjoy sony exclusive more than the latest mario/zelda games.

32gb for premium, what the hell ? i got a 150gb ps3 and its barely enough. think about it.
they offer 25gb disk for games. a 32gb system will barely hold 1 to 3 digital games. ive seen many ps3 games running around 10gb easily. So for a ''premium'' system, i would at least hope a 100gb. or 80 ? Seriously, 32gb was good years ago, now they already start their new console with outdated memory. hahahaha
Also, at 400, at least include another tablet or to a minimum, nintendo land. not including nintendo land is a ripoff.
That confirms that I will yet skip another nintendo console, sadly. cause in due time, when it will get cheaper, their competitors will have launched theyre next console, and no way in hell i will skip the PS4, and no way in hell i can afford 2 consoles.
oh yeah, just to let you know. that offer 78$ for adding 24GB to your system. for 78$ you can get a TERABYTE harddrive. 100gb for 78-100$ is a standard price. not 24gb? are they insane ? what a major ripoff.
(you can also get 32gb memory sticks for 10-15$....)
