Highly anticipated action title Assassin's Creed III has been confirmed as a day one launch title in the UK, thanks to Ubisoft's own online store.
That means that the publisher will be releasing seven titles for launch, with Rayman Legends, Just Dance 4, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013, Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth, Sports Connection and ZombiU all being available on store shelves from day one.
We got some hands-on time with this game at our recent visit to Nintendo's European HQ, so keep your eyes on the site for that in the very near future.
Will you be picking up the latest Assassin's Creed epic with your shiny new Wii U console?

Sweet, the more day one games the better.
Still undecided on this though.
I feel like the Wii U's launch window catalogue is becoming more like the XBOX 360 and PS3 with only a small handful of games being Nintendo like. Even Bayonetta 2, a Wii U exclusive is a game more typical to XBOX 360 and PS3 than you'd expect on a Nintendo console.
Awesome! I won't be picking it up right away though, still havent finished 2.
If Nintendo can keep this kind of third-party support up than the Wii U's future looks bright.
Nice. Game looks interesting.
The launch titles sound great for all type of gamers who are eager to get it.
Yeah it's not my kinda game either but I share the enthusiasm for Nintendo's 3rd party support. I too would like more 'nintendo' games though but maybe I'm just eager for Pikmin 3!
@Bass_X0
Definitely agree on that one. However, if it regains the interest of those who only buy Nintendo consoles for "Nintendo games" (and who sell/abandon their Nintendo consoles once they've had their fill), then I'm fine with it.
Far too many people have complained about there being "no good games on the Wii" - which I've found that they weren't saying that as a solid opinion, but as a malleable opinion based on advertised taste (they just wanted the good games on the 360 and PS3 more than the good ones on the Wii - they'd rather have them in large, advertised quantities rather than having to search for them like many of us had to for great non-1st Party Wii titles).
It's also nice for developers to be more open to put their main titles on a Nintendo console. It may even encourage many of them to create new main titles (more consoles/broader audiences/varied audiences/more inspiration and options).
I'm on the fence with ZombiU and AC III. I'm waiting for reviews to decide.
@Bass_X0 I see where you're coming from but there is still a fair few.Other than Mario,Pikmin,Nintendoland,Game & Wario we also have Lego City,Wonderful 101,Scribblenauts,Epic Mickey 2.Even Rayman is a Nintendo like game.So all going to plan we get our Nintendo like games but also the best versions of the multi platform games,at least for the time being.I'm fairly sure they will be announcing a big title very soon.Surely Mario Kart can't be that far away?
Will pick this up if there is no need to play the older games to understand the story.
Since I haven't played any of the older games yet and don't intend to this is a real possibility. Of course that is up to Nintendo and if they wait 4 years like they did with the Wii before they have a cheaper line. I can't think of a single good PS3 game that wasn't $40 within 1 year. With my current backlog that's about when I'll get around to this.
This game looks like it's going to be great! I haven't been able to play the other series installments since I only have a Wii, but when I get a WiiU, I'm getting this game along side it.
I'm interested, but I've never played any games in this series before. Do I need to do that in order to understand the story in ACIII? I'm not interested in watching videos of the older games or actually buying them, though. It seems like the game is set during a completely different era, so I'm hoping for the best.
Yes!
@Bass_X0 Ikr? This is why the Wii U's lineup seems so uninteresting to me. The only one of those games that are more common on 360/PS3 that interests me is Bayonetta 2 but I'm not sure if I'd get that as I haven't played the first one. Although, there are still games like Pikmin 3, The wonderful 101 and Game & Wario coming out after the launch.
I'm liking these big name titles that's usually on 360/PS3 making appearances on the WiiU. It's showing that the new console is capable of handing the games, and hopefully expanding third party support in the future.
I've played a couple AC games but never got into them, but that might change soon.
I'm getting the game for the PS3 but it was hugely important for Nintendo to get this on Wii U day and date with the other consoles. Nice to see they and Ubisoft have made it happen.
ill get it eventually, but not at launch
