Re: Review: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl - A Middling Pair Of Remakes

OnigiriSan

"there’s very little reason to play Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl over your original DS copies" - That's kind of the problem, it's very rare nowadays to find a copy of those games at a reasonable price (even worse if you're looking for platinium). And you need a working DS with a decent battery life.... Even if i would have loved to get remakes of the quality of HG and SS, i'm still happy to be able to enjoy gen 4 on my Switch wherever and whenever i want...

Re: Talking Point: Do You Have A 'Way' You Play Certain Switch Games?

OnigiriSan

I even have a Switch and a Switch Lite to play different games.

I usually play big games with heavy scenarios and/or motion controls docked on the TV. I tend to switch to handheld for long grinding sessions or any kind of repetitive gameplay (and, i agree, to play Metroid Dread in bed with a headset).

My Switch Lite is for when I move around outside, mostly to play indie games, ACNH or Pokemon games. I didn't buy it specificly for it, it was just my first Switch and i repurposed it after i bought the red box one.

Re: Don't Worry, You'll Still Have Access To "Certain Things" From Animal Crossing's DLC When Your NSO Sub Expires

Nintendo is getting worse and worse every year… I was going to pay for the expansion anyway, mostly for the N64 games on the go, so I guess I’ll play ACNH DLC through it at first, then if it looks like something I’m interested in keeping I’ll probably buy it later. But I’m very disappointed about what kind of company Nintendo is becoming. I hope at least it will not be the only DLC you get access to for « free » with that new NSO service…. That would make it more tolerable.

Re: Rumour: Game Boy And Game Boy Color Games Still Expected For Switch Online

OnigiriSan

I'd rather get themes and folders to orgnaize the massive backlog I already own than more games I'm not going to play or I played times and times over. I don't want to say that I would'nt be happy to be able to play games like Zelda Oracles or else on my Switch, but the service is severly lacking of so much features from modern consoles I would rather get than GB/GBC... If at least we were talking about games we can purchase and own, but those would just be there for as long Nintendo agrees to let us enjoy them.

Re: Nintendo Direct To Air Tomorrow, 23rd September

OnigiriSan

I would love to play Minish Cap on my switch through NSO and to hear about Silk Song (but i don't have much hope). Wind Waker HD would be a dream, the original is my favourite Zelda Game and i'm starting to consider buying a Wii U just for it if it doesn't come soon on the Switch. Otherwise, i just want to be surprised by something ! But the scheduled hour for this thing is a shame. Midnight in France, i will have to wait for the morning to watch it before going to work....

Re: Review: World's End Club - A Real Looker Spoiled By Hit-And-Miss Storytelling

OnigiriSan

I bought that game day one, I was curious about the story and the art style is really attractive but I have to admit I’m fairly disappointed after 3 hours of play. The characters are likeable enough, the graphics and music are really great but the gameplay is near inexistant in this « game ». I was expecting a puzzle plateformer with elements of visual novel, but there is barely anything to do but to read the not so well written dialogues.

Re: Talking Point: When Was The Last Time A Game Cracked Your Top Five?

OnigiriSan

The last game to make my top 5: Stardew Valley. I'm probably over 300 hours into the game at that point and each time i hear a few notes of the fantastic musics, i feel a urge to go back to it instantly.

Otherwise, the rest of it is pretty old:

  • Final Fantasy 9 is my absolute favorite of all time (probably nostalgia, though I played the switch version recently and was still pretty much in love with it)
Zelda A Link to the Past
    Pokemon Silver
    Super Mario 3

The thing is, for a long time i didn't have the money to buy games or systems, and i missed out on a decade of video games i'm now trying to catch up to. And considering the number of classics that came out the last decade, that list is bound to change for sure !

Re: Soapbox: Hurry Up And Release The Switch Pro Already, My Switch Is Dying

OnigiriSan

I own a Switch Lite, I bought it almost the day it got out. I chose the lite because I didn’t own a TV back then (no space for it) so why bother spending a 100€ more? But now that I just bought a TV, I definitively want to switch (ahah) to a regular Nintendo Switch. But knowing they might be about to release a new model, I’m kind of hesitating. Should I go for it right now and enjoy my library immediately and my brand new (second hand from 2017) HD TV or should I wait a bit longer for an hypothetical new system...?
