@FawfulDX hit the nail on the head. The Paper part of paper Mario to me worked best as an art style and subtle nod for some mechanics. Thousand Year Door had the best blend utilizing the paper elements of the game without actually making the world feel “fake”. Now it’s established that Paper Mario isn’t the real Mario and those real world “things” combined with everything needing to utilize a paper gimmick instead of them just being characters first... that just bugs the hell out of me.
@hellolillykitty I feel for her if she's struggling but that is Not Platinum Games responsibility. 1000 dollars a day for four days is reasonable for such a small amount of work in the year. Hellena should have other jobs or gigs to do throughout the year and that's on her to find them.
I know a lot of people don't actually read the story and just assume the worst based on the sensational headlines so I'll drop a video link going over the story as it breaks down what actually happened.
@MatoFilipovic My thoughts exactly. The game gave the show writers a perfect set up, to have Cuphead and mug man going around collecting the soul debts of each boss character in an effort to save their own skin. This cartoon made the devil and king dice feel less threatening by comparison. It’s all just too safe and committee driven, Cuphead needed a bit of edge.
@Spunky well I got some bad news for you. Netflix is shrinking their animation departments. They are going to cut costs wherever they can to make up for their poor returns. Situation is like Cuphead will become more apparent and we’ll see a drop in quality for most animation going forward.
I am looking forward to seeing what Ian Flynn can do as writer for the video games rather than the comics. His Archie reboot stuff was some of his best work but it required a lot of characters with their own priorities to always make sure Sonic and friends had something to do. Right now it sounds very isolated, keeping it to the core cast but I got a feeling there will be more to uncover from what I get of the synopsis.
I hope people here realize that the TGA chooses their winners through comity and only 10% through fan vote. Organizations like LA times and others that don't have dedicated wings to gaming are what is deciding game of the year.
TGA is a shame and people only watch them for the trailers.
@SalvorHardin That's the result of companies getting too chummy with each other. CEO's and workers in general may be switching between companies over the course of their career, they don't want to be burning bridges. I wish people had more 'teeth' and wouldn't bat an eye at the thought of destroying their competition. When companies or governments start being friendly with each other, we all lose.
@CielloArc I agree that the choice to consume is on the consumer. I personally choose to avoid consuming anything made by those who I believe are being un ethical or borderline illegal but that's on me and I should not force anyone to consume the way I do.
@CharlieGirl Nobody should do the research for you. You have to present an argument and convince the readers why your thoughts matter or are agreeable... and so far your arguments are not very convincing.
@Ryu_Niiyama Oh God No!!! I hate Hollywood in general but she stands out as a particular piece of garbage. If Nintendo were to make a Metroid film then it should be entirely CGI, have no Hollywood voice actors, (stay clear of California in general) and keep her helmet on for at least 95% of the time.
@Sunsy Ah I remember those days, back when spin off games were plentiful yet sub-par. Looking back while the Sonic RPG was meh at best, the idea and world of Sonic is what really entertained me and it's a shame to see the franchise today being rebooted to the point of sterilization. I hope we can see more creative Sonic story-lines and a new RPG would be a good start.

Re: Random: The Splatoon 'Happy Holidays' Twitter Post Is Weirdly Un-Festive This Year
I sure hope this changes. Splatoon 3 so far feels like it has half the post launch support that 2 had.
Re: Soapbox: Paper Mario: Sticker Star Was When The Series Came Unstuck
@Giancarlothomaz actually Alphadream went bankrupt due to a failed mobile game that never fully materialized.

I hope the best for him but I’ll be skipping this entry or at least wait until a better looking version comes out.

Not really my preferred style or take on Samus.

@Blooper987
Our best option is to not subscribe and be very loud about it. Nintendo needs to be better than this.
