This was going to be my biggest reason to buy a damn 3DS. Now I don't have to!!! I'm very pleased with this announcement!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!
Now I can finally make a decision on how to spend my 30 000 bank rewards points. It was going to be an Xbox or a 3DS, depending on the new Pokemon games. Xbox here I come - live on DS!!!

Doesn't bother me one bit No seizure-ific controls with the PS3. I'm glad the games I like are shifting over to a non-tourettes-style controller-based system.

The only console I know I won't be buying is the new Wii. I'm now down for seizure-ific playing when I'm sitting down to try enjoy a game. Unlike some fans, I get my exercise outside of gaming, and I sit down to game AFTER I've done my physical work and exercise. Nintendo lost my loyalty (which they had since NES) after introducing the Wii. Whether I get the new PS or Xbox depends on the games, but I won't buy either on release.

A very good idea. I have hundreds of dollars worth of original SNES cartridges.

Probably gonna be my reason (my only reason) for buying a 3DS.

No way am I handing over hundreds for their newest system. I'll wait. The price will drop. Even then I probably still won't buy one. Why bother? I used to be such a loyal fan.. they lost me with the Wii. Bye Nintendo, hello Microsoft and Sony.

Stuff like this is why no reasonable person can take PETA seriously. It's a shame, because animal rights are important, and an organization standing up for those issues is needed, but PETA is like the "boy who cried wolf" and serious concerns get drowned under bogus crap like this.

@Sondheimist Yawn. I aced Marketing for a reason. Dropping the cost of a system by nearly a hundred bucks just shortly after its release and renaming the new home console with a single additional letter? Yeah. Desperation. Look at the stock market trends, if you know how.

I'm guessing the Wii U's target market is kids who get systems which are paid for by mommy and daddy's VISA card. I can't see long term adult fans buying a barely upgraded piece of junk when there are already better systems available from less desperate companies. A commercial with a Nintendo employee grovelling on their knees begging consumers to purchase the system would be a charming touch.

@Gamesake Sometimes patience can be a virtue. Within a month or so, I should be able to get the Xbox 360 for absolutely FREE. Just like I got my Playstaion III absolutely free. The joys of having many many bills all payable by a VISA that gives me points. I won't pay any S&H either.

I'm in my late 20s, and was a very loyal fan of Nintendo for years. I've owned the very first gameboys, and haven't missed out on any home consoles. My loyalty is no more. I bought a Playstation III, and have plans to get an Xbox. Nintendo has really let me down. I never did like playing Wii games that have me feeling like I have tourettes when I play them. And the way they've pumped out handhelds and slightly modified handhelds seems like a disgusting marketing ploy to a business/marketing student. Smaller and thinner versions. Bigger and wider versions. It smells like desperation. It feels to me like Nintendo has lost its sense and dedication to fans with its panic.

Just passed Chrono Trigger on my Wii yesterday Gotta love that one. I've paid for it too many times to pay again though.

Looks great so far to me, but I do wish the pokemon got to walk around with you on the map screen like in HG and SS.

Ridgey - sometimes you can find a store that sells electronics on the side and the store employees don't realize or respect the release date, and it ends up on the shelf a day early. I was hunting around on the internet and making calls first thing this morning.

Just got my copy of Pokemon White today. Someone always screws up their release dates. WOOHOOO!!!!

Sonic will be the first Wiiware game I'll buy in months. Finally. I've been letting Sony enjoy my money instead while Wii puts out more trash.

I didn't hold any expectations.... but I give this update a huge thumbs down. I had the day off and was really hoping to download something fun to play .. but I see nothing worth even five measly dollars on this list.

Wow I'm so glad there are so many different clocks and calculators I can download onto my $200 system - good thing I bought it!!! Can't be without multiple clocks and calculators ya know.

One thing that sucks tho - and it doesn't have anything to do with NOA - is my Canadian dollar isn't worth crap - about 82 cents to the US dollar. So if I want to buy $20 in points through my VISA, it charges me in US $ and I end up paying about $28.

I am still hanging on until they release some different colours. My old 'phat' ds plays games just fine until then.

Of course they wouldn't release something like Majora's Mask the day after the release of the DSi. That wouldn't make sense.
All in all, I'd say I'm "satisfied" with the releases today. That's all.

I still kinda like playing Pokemon on my old DS. I don't even have the Lite version - I still use my big ole phat DS. When I lost my stylus I had to order extras from afar using ebay because no one around here sold ones that fit into the 'old' DS anymore. Now I'm hoping I can hold off until the DSi comes out in new colours. I have a feeling that the 'tacky light blue' colour will become an eyesore after staring at a game for more than a couple of hours, and the black doesn't really work for me because I'm neurotic about dust and smudges on handheld systems. I wish they'd make a hunter green. Or Yoshi's Story-like patterned pastels.

Bah....wrestling... boxing ... both consist of a couple guys making strained faces as they wail on each other in a ring....

I don't like Wrestling and the Bonsai thing seems to cost more Wiipoints than it looks to be worth.
Good thing I'm hooked on Pokemon Platinum and Rune Factory Frontiers.
