Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2 Upgrade For Super Mario Bros. Wonder?

Neonix

I've never played this game before, so I'll wait to get the S2 version and that'll be my first time playing SMB Wonder. Looking forward to it, although, not overly ecstatic about it either. It's long overdue for a new proper 3D Mario mainline game and follow-up for SMB Odyssey. It's too much of a gap between these mainline games honestly. And within the first year of a new Nintendo console generation I absolutely do expect a full mainline Mario game OR Zelda game. And this time around it seems we get none of that... Disappointing!

Re: Switch 2 Sales Reportedly Struggled Over The Christmas Period

@EVIL-C That's what happens when it's the most bundled title over several generations. I also bought the Switch 2 MKW bundle. Not because I was so interested in MKW, but simply because I got it for cheap. It's not a great game, and I wouldn't have bought it standalone when it's so bland and similar to MK8D which I already owned.

@larryisaman While that might have been true for MK8 Deluxe, MKW is simply too similar compared to MK8 Deluxe. So anyone that owns MK8D will probably see no need in getting MKW.

Mario Kart games also tends to "sell well" simply because they are the most bundled game. I bought the Switch 2 MKW bundle because it was more available, and it cost only $40 more than the standard bundle. That's one MKW sale, but, honestly, I don't really play it, and wasn't really that interested in it, but I got it for cheap, so why not... I'm fairly sure I'm not alone in that.

Re: Switch 2 Sales Reportedly Struggled Over The Christmas Period

@deezcronuts Agreed. And neither does Mario Kart.
It's so strange they didn't time the release with a major 3D Mario title. It's been like 7-8 years since Mario Odyssey. I can understand that they didn't go with a mainline Zelda title, TOTK isn't that old, so that's understandable. And then add ontop of that the fact that Nintendo was extremely slow with shipping out development kits to 3rd party developers, which also prevented 3rd party devs from having Switch 2 editions ready at launch. Many developers didn't get devkits until months AFTER the Switch 2 released.

Nothing makes sense.

Re: ICYMI: Red Dead Redemption's Switch 2 Release Is A Free Upgrade For Switch Owners

@WhiteTrashGuy Oh! I didn't know that. Here the physical release is just a cover with a code in it. It says on the cover (lower right corner): Download code only. No gamecard is included!

Maybe it differs between regions. I see some people on Reddit also said that new shipments (past a certain date) went from being cart to code only. I just purchased the code only, because it was being sold for less than half than the eShop version. And it's literally the exact same.

I would put a picture of the cover here but it's not possible.

Re: Reggie Is "Surprised" We Haven't Seen More Xbox Titles On Switch 2

Geez people, have some patience. The S2 has been out for 4 months. Many developers just recently got devkits. Porting can't start before you have a devkit.

Also consider porting from Xbox to PS5 is super easy. It's the exact same AMD tech in both consoles, with minor variations. So porting will be fast and easy. And devkits have been available for 5 years! The S2 with its Nvidia and ARM based CPU and GPU is vastly different, so porting will require a lot more work. Employees have to learn a new devkit, which also takes time.

More work equals more time! And they might just have received the necessary devkits to start working on it. Nintendo being slow with distributing devkits is a big reason. If Nintendo pushed out devkits 6 months prior to the S2 release, im sure the situation would be different.

Try to be realistic.
