Definitely wasn’t expecting this now. Cool to get an update, though the Japan release date don’t affect us Americans much. Good thing it’ll be a ‘fun’ movie though. I was dreading thinking Nintendo was trying to make a boring movie XD. Looking forward to the movie though (especially with Yoshi). Hoping for Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, story not based on one individual game, better writing and plot. I loved the first movie but there were a few issues they can straighten out.
Predictions Opening segment: Xenoblade Chronicles X port releasing September Headlines: Kirby eshop title releasing July and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD Segment: new Mario Party game releasing November Headlines: Yoshi’s Woolly World: Reknit releasing October, Wind Waker HD releasing August Segment: F-Zero GX remastered releasing November Headlines: NES World Championship game, Metroid Prime 2&3 available after presentation One last thing: teaser for Metroid Prime 4, With 2025 release date
I think a lot of people will be disappointed with this show, but I think it will be pretty good. I heard not many people liked the September 2023 one and I thought it was the best one in a while so who knows 🤷♂️
Also, if we’re talking how to use them looking forward, look no further than Yoshi’s woolly world. Giving a full texture for a Yoshi for that character was perfect and the list of compatible ones was crazy (olimar Yoshi was perfection)
Unfortunately, I don’t see many more amiibo being released in the upcoming years. Maybe a few with the Switch 2 launch titles and that’s about it. Unfortunately I was a bit late on the amiibo train, getting my first one a little over a year ago. I’ve only collected five (smash Yoshi, original inkling, big man, smash olimar and smash villager) but really want more from my favorite franchises (still waiting for a US Pikmin restock). Alas, I don’t see them lasting much longer even if I wish that wasn’t the case
Games are made as entertainment and art. If someone wants to put that stuff in their game then they’re welcome to, but they shouldn’t complain if it impacts the reception or sales of the game. People don’t like being preached to when they play games. Especially with Nintendo, their brand is built around family friendliness and they can’t uphold that if they’re teaching kids what parents may not want them hearing
I’d say it depends on the content of the game, the demand and the amount of work put into it. Mario vs donkey Kong had a lot of work put into it since it was a remake, but the content was so shallow that it should’ve been $30. Luigi’s mansion 2 looks like a barely updated game with not much demand or content, so it should’ve been $40 at the most. Paper Mario TTYD was a complete remake of a game with a lot of demand and content so $60 is reasonable. Yet most of these just don’t line up. Nintendo is just Nintendo sometimes 🤷♂️
REALLY hope it’s a new splatoon. I just started the franchise with splatoon 3 and it’s now one of my favorite franchises! I wouldn’t expect a fourth so soon though I’d say a 2026 release at the earliest

Re: Talking Point: What We Expect From The Upcoming June Nintendo Direct
Also would like to see tomadachi life in any way but I doubt it
Re: Talking Point: What We Expect From The Upcoming June Nintendo Direct
All I want is a new entry/port of Nintendo land (I know it’s not happening) or a port of Yoshi’s woolly world. That’s all I care about.

Re: Nintendo Announces Second US Store, Opening 2025
Man, I really wish one would open in like Florida or something. One on the east coast that’s not in a city like NYC
Re: Talking Point: What Other LEGO Zelda Sets Would You Like To See After The Deku Tree?
I’m not a huge Zelda fan (only game I’ve played is totk) so I’ll probably just wait patiently for splatoon/pikmin/better Mario sets
