I am skeptical that it will be anything significant, but of course I hope it is a Namco/Nintendo co-developed Pokemon Tournament, a fighting game for Wii U made with the Tekken engine.
Mario and Luigi is a lot of fun although the game gets too cute sometimes for my 25 year old tastes. But there's nothing better than having to turn your entire 3DS vertical so that you can control Giant Dream Luigi in what is essentially a Japanese monster movie fight.
I know it's a given but I still give a gleeful yelp every time a game advertises that you can play it completely on the GamePad. Still the coolest feature ever.
Also, I'm sorry that older Zelda fans want the game to become more "hardcore", but Zelda's not for you, it's for kids. You were probably a kid when you started playing it, although there are surely some older gamers out there, too.
The hero mode featured in this Wind Waker remake (and one would presume it will be in the new game, too) is a decent compromise.
But Nintendo won't go anywhere if they don't find someone to partner with that can improve their OS/Network infrastructure. They are slowly starting to catch up and even innovate (MiiVerse is something worth copying and improving.) but the interface chugs still.
Articles like this are just stupid. The 3DS has a healthy customer base and is going to continue to grow with the release of Pokemon and then Zelda: Link Between Worlds, and then a Super Smash Bros. title next year.

I like it! And it keeps Nintendo's strange fixations intact. "Nintendo P." And they could advertise the P with the fluffy P that the Princess gives you in SMB3.
And yeah, TVii is slow just like all the other Nintendo apps. And if you haven't noticed, Nintendo has been lagging behind, both literally and figuratively, in terms of their internet capabilities for years. Unfortunately, you buy Nintendo consoles for the great Nintendo first party games and not much else these days. It's questionable if it's worth it but I'm a loyalist.
Who is capturing these screen-shots? Does Nintendo pay a few employees to watch TV? Can I be that employee?
That said, I could see it being fun.. if there were a lot more users. There aren't a lot of users. And there aren't a lot of sports fans with Wii U, which would be the way to really make it fun.
It's going to be the same thing as Skyward Sword with having to replace your shields, except they'll take it a step further. It's actually a logical progression all the way from Link to the Past, which introduced the magic meter in the first place. In a way it's crazy that it took them so long to put in a stamina meter and weapon health.
3. Make a deal with (the Devil?) Apple. I don't even own a Mac but I just think the two companies would fit and Nintendo would have the resources to compete with M$ and Sony.
Instead of a DS you'd have custom Nintendo cradles for your Apple hardware that turn them into Nintendo consoles, with the ability to stream, ALA the Game Pad, to your TV and use the controller as just a controller.
Combine the market-places of both and you have enough to lure people into this hybrid beast gaming console with the marketing powers of Nintendo AND Apple. You'd have the Nintendo console with the best apps. You'd have the Apple device with the best Nintendo games.
The controls are so awesome. I'm still getting used to having to look at the GamePad screen when there's such a beautiful high-res picture in front of me on my TV but this a great game.
Nintendo gave their console a pretty stupid name (Wii) and it did just fine. While I think there is possibly some consumer confusion, I agree with Reggie that it isn't a primary reason for low sales.
@Gorlokk I like how Nintendo has brought companies like Monolith Soft and Platinum Games into the fold. I think they should be doing that more, with studios like Ubisoft and EA, too. (Yes, I know EA and Nintendo aren't the best of friends.) And it'd be a good way to utilize some of those characters.
I actually thought Twilight Princess was awesome. Best story of the recent bunch (WW, TP and SS), unique environments and obstacles (I loved the yeti's lair and the snow-boarding), unique weapons (sure, the razor top was useless outside of its temple, but who cares? It looked awesome).
Maybe you'll enjoy SS more than I did. There's a stamina meter that really changes the platforming in a good way, the sword combat is great if you have a room with a decent 8 feet of distance and a good spot for the sensor bar below/above the TV. Unfortunately, what sorta ruined it for me was the back-tracking and the compromised visuals on my HDTV. I'm sure it looks great on an SD tube monitor but we don't play on those anymore.
I actually started a giant thread on my thoughts about the game in the Wii U forum. You might want to wait until AFTER you play the game to check it out and see if you agree with some of my complaints. There's a lot to like about the game, too, though.
No matter how long you wait the price ain't gonna go down, we're talking about Nintendo games here. But I was disappointed by SS and would play WW over it any day. Favorite part about the Wind Waker is the cool A button dodge and slash animations that Link could do against the big baddies.
Pikmin 3 is WAY more niche than most of their other franchises. I mean, this is for all intents and purposes a real time strategy game. Combine that with a low install base and you're seeing these poor numbers.
On the other hand, the Wii U has plenty of room to grow. I just got mine and when my friends saw it in action they were blown away. I think people are going to be converted, slowly but surely, by the power of the Game Pad.
It's a real shame Wii U won't be getting GTA V, though. And I'm definitely worried about the third-party outlook for the system. On the other hand, Zelda.
Maybe I'm just a sucker for a context-sensitive "A" button (thinking of Xbox in this particular scenario) but I miss the old Splinter Cell games (up through Chaos Theory) and their 100% dedication to stealth.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy Grand Theft Auto V On Wii U?
I would buy GTA V in a heart-beat for Wii U though I would be skeptical of its ability to run well without a hard drive install.
Still I could imagine the Game Pad being an awesome in game tool.

Re: Aonuma Explains His Quest to Have Improved the "Overall Game Flow" of The Wind Waker HD
@Asaki There IS a hero mode, no random hearts (in grass or in containers) and enemies do double damage.
So you get the faster sail, the less annoying TriForce quest, HD visuals and a brand new coat of paint, and the Game Pad as your menu and map.
Sounds awesome to me.

The hybrid portable/home console is the future.

@mike_intv I can't play my 3DS on my TV. And 16GB of memory does not cost 40 dollars.

Re: Without iOS Support Nintendo "Doesn’t Reach Today’s Kids" Says Apple Advocate John Gruber
It's all about the killer apps. And I'd be willing to bet that Pokemon X and Y are going to be the most killer apps of them all.
If Nintendo makes the games great enough, the kids will put down the iPad and engage in some real gaming.
