Re: Nintendo Highlights 'Nindies' and Their Games at IndieCade 2014

@jariw I do talk to lots of game devs about bringing their games to Wii U and in some cases I am able to make it happen. But the games that @markybbop wants on Wii U are all probably not possible on Wii U. Valiant Hearts is a Ubisoft Game, Counter Spy is party funded by Sony (Could come to Wii U in half a year or so, like Guacamelee), Daylight is published by Atlus and not that great of a game and an Outlast port would probably have to be gimped, just because of the Wii U's power. I also always like to look for the next "big thing" rather than chasing the thing that was big half a year ago.

I understand them skipping a Wii U version, since the first one only sold 12k in the US. But I don't really see why they aren't doing a 3DS version. The game sold best on there and the user base is even bigger now. It's probably too hard to make the game for 3DS, as they would probably need a seperate development team for it.

@midnafanboy Definition of third party developer: Third-party developers are usually called upon by a video game publisher to develop a title for one (or more) systems. Both publisher and developer have considerable input in the game's design and content. However, the publisher's wishes generally override those of the developer.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U eShop is Raising Tough Questions on Quality Control

The one thing that seperates these small, low budget games from the the bigger games with a higher budget and better presentation, is the storefront. I think that Nintendo is very picky with the games that they put up on there, since it is a general representation of the content that is currently available on the eshop. Thankfully most of these low effort shovelware titles get burried somewhere and are only viewable if you search for them and already know about them.

@TheRealThanos The engine does not support Wii U natively, just like it doesn't support 360. The devs can make a Wii U game with it, but Epic won't make it as easy as an UE4 PS4 or XBone game.At first they said that UE4 wouldn't support Wii U, which is kinda like telling someone that the farm you just purchased won't actually be able to grow any crops on it, because the ground is poopoodoodoocacapoopledoopledoggiepoopsiepoops. Then they backpaddled and said that devs can make Wii U games in UE4, which is kinda like telling some that the farm that you just bought might grow something, if you replace the ground and produce your own seeds.
