@ToxieDogg "The troll comments from the reviewer about popcorn and coffee very early on in the thread don't help either. It comes across as him deliberately writing a slanted review to annoy certain people and then sitting back and watching the car wreck. Classy, very classy :/"
Couldn't have put it better myself. It's the opposite of professionalism and only adds to the negative stereotypes surrounding gaming as a "juvenile" medium. When our REVIEWERS are acting like 14 year olds then there's a real problem, and this isn't the only site where it has happened.

It doesn't help that there are so many brainless fanboys jumping to defend that behavior. It's sad but the older I get the more I start to believe the stereotypes of most gamers being manchildren and/or literal children.

@MussakkuLaden The only one who needs to grow up here is you, and I think you know it since you went out of your way to mention me without replying directly.
Enjoy the taste and smell of the reviewer's hind quarters, though. He needs unabashed fanboys like you to feed his youthful-yet-massive ego.

@BulbasaurusRex Your comment rests entirely on the fact that you can't tell the difference between "Good/Bad" and "Like/Dislike".

If a car is broken down and can't drive, it's bad. Even if it's the owner's favorite car.

@c1pher_c0mplet The problem isn't the review itself, the problem is gaming reviews as a whole, as well as the reviewer in this case acting like a snotty little kid as soon as he receives any negative feedback on his bad review.

@TwilightAngel "This is an opinion,an opinion shouldn't stop you from liking something plain and simple. "
That's the problem with reviews. They should NOT be based on opinion.
If reviews were based on facts, they'd be worth paying attention to, but 99.99% of reviewers are biased and review games based not on the game's quality, but on their enjoyment of the game.
But since reviews are based on opinion, there's no logical reason for anyone to seek them out for advice on a game to buy. It's literally cultivating a gaming society where arbitrarily-selected individuals' opinions are held as gospel, and above others' opinions.
There are too many gamers out there, especially younger ones, (who are eventually going to be the future of the gaming community,) that don't realize the guy who wrote the review that dictated whether they bought a game or not was just some greasy nerd on a computer somewhere who's getting paychecks for being literate and playing games.

Reviews and both the behavior/mindsets they breed and sway they have need to die off completely. All information held in high-regard should be factual, not subjective.

@AlexOlney What a professional way to respond to criticism. Good thing you have plenty of fanboys to back you up and validate your behavior.

I've always wondered what it is about nerds who review games and why they're so defensive about their "verdicts." I've seen the same childish backlash from reviewers back on Joystiq, as soon as someone has something negative to say about their judgment they turn into a snarky highschool brat in the comments instead of taking the criticism like a man. I guess it's just insecurity.
