The Nintendo Switch has been my visual novel machine for a long time - or maybe you missed AI Somnium Files, Cinders, Coffee Talk, Gothic Murder, Va-ll hall-a, Vampire the Masquerade, and WILL: A Wonderful World? You also seem to have discounted the entire Otome/Dating Sim genre - Akash: Path of the Five, Arcade Spirits, Best Friend Forever, Cafe Enchante, Code Realize (x3 games), Collar x Malice (x2), Dream Daddy, multiple Voltage ports, Monster Prom, Nightshade, Piofiore, World End Syndrome, and Steam Prison. So I think you might be the last person to figure this out, sorry! XD The Switch is the spiritual successor to the Vita.
Ah, I have such fond memories of the Gamecube. It was the last console I had as a "child" (pre-employment age) so I really only had a small handful of games I was able to save for or get as gifts, but with games like the Zelda Collection, Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing, some Harvest Moon - I was plenty happy.
"At last, my love has come along-" XD but seriously, I love this series, it was on my longest of long-shot Switch wishlist, and I couldn't be happier. I really hope this brings the series to a whole new generation of gamers, it's got so much to offer (and 4 was a fabulous installment, well worth revisiting in the meantime!)
Blazblue and Etrian for me, I was a bit worried about going back to my 3ds after almost exclusively using my Switch since launch, but I got back in the swing of it. Can't wait to see Etrian on Switch some day though, that art on a big screen will be gorgeous (comforting me while I die over and over...)
I've never bought a special edition console (of any kind) before, but Eevee has been my favourite Pokemon since I was eleven - how do pre-installed games work? If I want to transfer data from an existing Switch will it over-write my copy of the game? How do I redeem that digital copy to an existing Nintendo account? Is it actually downloaded on the console or is it just a digital code inside? Thank you
I've got a JP New 3DS, and an EU New 3DS XL so no more upgrades there for me, but I'm sure it's going to release just in time to be some kid's first handheld this summer break and I hope Nintendo continue to feed it with games for a while yet
I feel like I'm at a buffet, I just want to load up my plate with a bit of everything. Definitely Rocket League, Stardew Valley, and Overcooked - but if you let me I'd vote Hollow Knight, & Escapists 2 as well. And those are just the properties I know, half of these I haven't heard of.
@Dakt I saw another site mention that Nintendo is no longer sending out their updates before Thursday for Europe, I'm hoping we will still get a reasonable update some time today, but it's frustrating to not hear anything about this change in advance (and bad timing just a week after the Switch release when new releases are key).
This is looking so good, I honestly can't remember a time I looked forward to a Pokemon game like this (bar Gold & Silver probably).
I was worn out on the franchise because of the lack of changes, but when I eventually gave X a chance I fell in love again. Then Alpha/Omega came along and was just a step back on so much of what X/Y improved, so I'm so excited to see this next installment being so keen to change things up. This is what Pokemon needs, not more remakes, new installments trying new things. I wish I could get my hands on that demo already.
This is the only change with the game I would find disappointing. I haven't dug into my copy yet but as someone who enjoys visual novels sometimes half the fun is seeing how bad an ending you can get, or getting a quick reality check from a game when you think you're doing everything right. If I can't possibly fail then what's the point? Where's my motivation to think about my actions if I get the same outcome regardless?
@LegendOfPokemon April I could live with. I know they're busy doing promotion for Bravely Second, and that it doesn't make sense for them to promote two similar game genres at once, it just makes me nervous when a company doesn't say anything, it makes me think dates are slipping and they don't want to admit it yet.
I hadn't realised Bravely was that much later in the US though, that could be quite a decent explanation, fingers crossed you're on the right track
@ShanaUnite I wasn't aware a date had been given yet? With the radio silence on the issue I think "a couple of months" is optimistic. I'm starting to downgrade my expectations to 2017.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 31st)
I belong to Fire Emblem Three Houses now. I'm hoping it'll let me go so I can revisit my favourite Final Fantasy (8) next week, but we'll see!

Re: Rune Factory 4 Special And Rune Factory 5 Are Both On The Way To Switch
@Jezebel95 me too! Was just thinking of replaying 4 recently, but I think it'll be worth it to hold out for the re-release

@Grumblevolcano I hadn't thought of that and it would be amazing XD bring on Groose!

Re: Nintendo Announces a Pokémon Direct to Get the Celebrations Started
@starcatcher77 ...You can't be that stupid? It's out in Japan and the US, shockingly there are a few more countries in the world than that.
