Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo E3 Survey

MeWario

Nintendo announced a lot before E3 and I think that is why some people were disappointed. Imagine how different it would be if they had come out and surprised us with Super Mario 3D World, Mariokart and A Link Between Worlds. I loved E3 and thought that the Nintendo Directs were far better then some lame conference full of awkwardness. Only let downs were the slightly underwhelming Mario and Donkey Kong games that don't look much different to past titles; ill be buying them though

Re: First Impressions: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

MeWario

Great read, mirrors my feelings exactly. Donkey Kong Country 2 changed things up a whole lot and I just don't feel like this game is. It's like Tropical Freeze is the game Retro think DKCR should have been, not a sequel. I wanna see new environments at least or else the tedium will set in pretty fast. Where's the amusement parks or bee hives of DKC2? This game will be a blast but hopefully there's more to it then meets the eye.

Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Slips Onto Wii U This November

MeWario

@Funny_Moblin I've been tossing up for ages about that myself! There has been some news that Nintendo are finally sussing out an account system so it might be worth the risk. Animal Crossing is made to be on the system all the time Only other problem I have with downloadable games is that you can re-sell them. I downloaded NSMB2 because it was way cheaper of the Spain server then here in NZ, but, it is such a disappointing game (worst Mario ever, in my opinion) and I'm stuck with it. Sucks because Mario games always sell for lots. (I would never sell Animal Crossig btw)

Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Slips Onto Wii U This November

@Funny_Moblin If they can repair it, then yes. If they can't and replace it instead, like mine, then no. That's why Nintendo needs an account system. If my iPad stops working and I buy a new one then I can just redownload everything that I've purchased before. My 3DS just randomly stopped working a year ago and it couldn't be fixed so they replaced it. I made sure I keeper my SD card and everything but didn't matter, I lost everything.

Re: Retro Chose Donkey Kong Over Metroid as Its First Wii U Title

MeWario

Super excited for this. My only concern is that this looks mostly like a big retread of DKCR. Diddy's Kong Quest is how a sequel should be done. It dropped Donkey Kong for Dixie, changing how we played the game, but most importantly; the environments were far more creative. (bee hives, theme parks etc)

Re: Super Mario 3D World is "The Grand Culmination" of The Best Ideas From Past 3D Mario Titles

MeWario

This looks cool!!! I can understand people being a little disappointed with this direct, but I am pumped! Lets face it, Nintendo blew there load early this year with all of there directs. The only real let down was the Retro announcement. Heck i'll buy Donkey Kong Country immediately, but it's not the killer game we were dreaming of. Still my disappointment is measured; my Wii U library is set to gain Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart, Wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Country and Wonderful 101 by the end of the year. Plus i'll be getting Pokemon, Zelda and Dream Team for my 3DS. That's an insane amount of games!!!

Re: Talking Point: Looking Ahead to Nintendo's E3

MeWario

I've worked it out and I'm fairly certain it's at 2am here in NZ. Good news is I don't have to call in sick at work, but, I am going to come in very tired

So excited! Particularly about the new 3D Mario. Dunno what it is, but mario just brings out the kid in me like nothing else. Can't wait!!!

Re: Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition Finally Makes It To Australia And New Zealand

MeWario

@DarkToonLink I'm guessing your Australian, not a New Zealander. Yea we don't get any of that down here. I'm speaking from 20 years of experience. With Playstation, we get every game, at the same time everyone else does. Same with Xbox. I couldn't get Warioland 3 when I was a kid because they didn't bring it down here for ages. Seriously, everyone had SEGAs growing up, Nintendo has never bothered to build a profile for itself down here. I'm the biggest crusadr there is for Nintendo, I love them, so when I'm harsh about them you should know I'm telling the truth.

Re: Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition Finally Makes It To Australia And New Zealand

MeWario

@Ukulele_Wizard It's just a Nintendo problem. Seriously, I've been a gamer since the NES era and Sega was way bigger then Nintendo down here in N.Z. There was no marketing for the NES or Snes at all. Being a Nintendo fan down here sucks! Nintendo just don't care about us. I have over 5000 club Nintendo points at the moment but were still only offered tea towels and shoe laces!

Re: Hardware Classics: Nintendo Virtual Boy

MeWario

@Nintendojuenger The idea of the Virtual Console excites me because it has the potential to become almost like a museum of gaming. We, and specifically Nintendo, have a responsibility to properly preserve there games. Why would anyone, especially a collector, want to keep them off the Virtual Console?
