Despite the fairly lengthy list of games announced for Wii U, there are various titles on the way to PS3 and Xbox 360 that aren't in the works for Wii U. One of these is Tomb Raider, due for release in March 2013, though a scan of Game Informer magazine has listed Wii U as a platform.
The development studio behind this title, Crystal Dynamics, stated back in January that it wasn't preparing the game for Wii U as it would want to make use of the system's capabilities rather than produce a simple port.
Given that we’ve been working on the game quite a while before Wii U was announced I think it would not be right to try and port it across. If we started building a game for the Wii U we would build it very differently and we would build it with unique functionality.
Times change and it's possible that a port will be produced for Wii U, either that or Game Informer has made an honest mistake. We'll keep an eye out for any updates or statements.

Now this is just mean...
I'll take this with a grain of salt. However, if it is true expect either they use the GamePad and plaster TOMB RAIDER on the screen for the entire play period or they use the Wii U Pro Controller ONLY.
Probably just a mistake.
I don't really care either way, but if it's good and gets released on the Wii U then chances are I might get it.
I don't see what's wrong with just porting it over with the Pro Controller.
Just because the Wii U has a touch screen controller doesn't mean it has to be used for everything.
Pass.
This looks to be all style over substance. I want a game where I do all the cool stuff, not just watch some flashy set pieces riddled with QTE's. Which is exactly how this game is looking.
My 2nd favorite game of E3 so far (after Pikmin 3). It may be as close as we ever get to Uncharted 4. And she kind of looks like a young Chloe so it kind of works as an origin story for her as well. And it could very well be coming to WiiU, just later on like Batman: Arkham City or Darksiders 2. And I'm guessing AC3 will be late as well but since Reggie won't give us a #@$%&* launch date it's hard to know.
@rjejr Nintendo will release a launch date and price based on the reaction toward E3.
Please come.
Angelina Jolie is too old now to admire, give me this one now.
And if anyone is a fan of Uncharted, and you wouldn't mind a more gritty and slightly more violent feel...then this is your game!
The trailers on the official website and the E3 gameplay look extremely good. I just hope the story explains the extreme violence good enough. It would be a shame to waste a character with a lot of potential just to have the name Tomb Raider slapped on the game.
So for now: I really, really, really hope this comes to the Wii U.
Dude. Did you see the pro controller? We don't care if it's just a port; WE JUST WANT THE GAMES EVERYONE ELSE HAS. Innovative tech isn't supposed to scare people off. Put a mini map on the gamepad and call it a day.
That was back in January, probably before ANYONE knew about the pro controller. Also, here's another fact: Xbox 360 games can easily be ported to WiiU since the infrastructure is a lot alike. I doubt it would take them much time at all to get a decent port together and crank up the resolution.
One of the 2 games I liked from Microsoft's press conference glad to know it'll be on the Wii U
Why is Lara killing everybody? She's not Rambo.
Could be cool!
