@Funny_Moblin No probs mate, MK8 is Nintendo's first fast paced game on Wii U that has alot of action going on in the background as well as on the track, so we will see how it goes... I will be Digital 4 Lyfe anyway
I'm sure Patsy Salviato doesn't care what anyone says about her because she still got paid regardless of how well received the game was on Miiverse & the internets
@Funny_Moblin Yeah, if you compare physical & digital versions of 3rd party titles like Batman, Assassins Creed & Splinter Cell there is a massive difference with framerates and performance because the disc drive doesn't run as fast as the HDD... I got the physical versions of Assassins Creed 3 & ZombiU at launch and found them riddled with FR drops/bugs/freezing but after purchasing the D4L ones when they were on sale I played through both games without any issues at all
It's not like Iwata is putting a gun to our heads and demanding us to buy it... What usually happens is NL will give it a 9/10 which automatically forces all Nintendites to throw their cash at it
Another one of the many drawbacks for physical media is the set amount of memory developers have to work with... This is why the 3DS gets empty devoid of anything side scrollers like Batman and Spiderman, also RPGs that can be finished in a few hours with minimal replay value
When you walk into your local game or department store nowadays they don't carry much Nintendo stock at all... There's only a couple of shelves devoted to Wii, 3DS & Wii U (mostly shovelware)
It's true though... If the next Mario & Zelda were 'digital only' you will no doubt get yourselves a internet connection along with a shiny new 3D4L like yer lives depended on it
But the Nintendo fanbase is all about Nintendo games... I can bet that if their next handheld was a 3D4L you lot will all buy one for that reason anyway
It would be in Nintendo's best interest to ditch physical media and focus more on a DIGITAL 4 LYFE model that has cheap eShop prices and account based... Without the useless cartridge slot they can use that extra space for a more powerful CPU and longer lasting battery
There has already been RC Mario Karts & plushies available for many years... They just sit in a bargain bin at your local game store because nobody cares about them
@WaveBoy Yeah, I can see it now. The Activision stage is set... The crowd goes silent... Call of Duty: Space Marine Dudebrofest Warfare 4... WOOOOOOO!!!
I don't care how they do it as long as they BRING DA GAEMZ!
Watching the other companies with their long drawn out presentations of complete suckage with dudebro nerds getting excited over absolutely nothing has worn thin nowadays

Re: Mario Kart Month: Keeping the Mario Kart 8 Race Going With DLC
@FineLerv Yeah, but it only affects a physical disc owner anyway... My D4L version will no doubt run at 614,000 frames per hour
Re: Mario Kart Month: Keeping the Mario Kart 8 Race Going With DLC
Hopefully that missing frame will come as DLC

You've gotta expect this sort of framerate drop stuff when dealing with a physical copy nowadays

Abyss will be a decent cheap game to play when I'm finished with Stick It To The Man & Child of Light... Nothing on 3DS as per usual
Re: Talking Point: What We Want To See From Nintendo's Next Handheld
Going 'digital only' means they will abolish the crappy region lock... I know how much everyone here hates the region locking
Re: Talking Point: What We Want To See From Nintendo's Next Handheld
Some AAA games and variety would be better for their next handheld
