Should have announced it earlier and then I would have bought rising on switch instead of playstation. Rising is a better fit for the switch and with the end game achievements playstation has no advantage to me.

@the_beaver The genre isn't called metroidvania, journalists call it that. it's actually an action adventure platformer with RPG elements. But that's a mouthful so everyone goes with metroidvania. it's not a real genre.

I'm looking forward to this. I guess i didn't learn my lesson from triangle strategy, but this game was something I always wanted to play for years, so I can actually give a confident thumbs up to my nemesis SqueeniX for this.

@swoose FACTS. Voice acting doesn't belong in old school games. If you're gonna throw it back, throw it back all the way! don't butcher it with some crappy voice overs we're just going to turn off.

It looks awesome with a great team but that scenario writer worries me because those games were not great stories. I love the old school and I love that companies are making throwback games but they usually do not deliver on the story.

I have a lot of artist friends who are doing the NFT thing so it's pretty much a natural curiosity for most of them at this point. He'll learn one way or another that most people don't enjoy that kind of kind of art ownership after all.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising and
Salt and Sacrifice

It's a fun breezy game. Sort of a whole side quest to the main game. It's great to squeeze an hour out of here and there when larger games get on Your nerves.
Has in game achievements too!

@Moonsorrow999 right? Everybody gave the final fantasy 7 remake a pass and it was a game entirely made of padding, linear hallways and terrible fetch quests, but if another game does, it's horrible.

That sets up a weird kind of precedent. Something like it's OK when Triple A companies do it but indie companies need to always be innovative in pushing the envelope for their $15 companion game.

I love how everybody acts like boring ass fetch quests aren't an RPG standard at this point.

I have a nasty habit of truncating things and all I saw was don't buy this on switch if you want to play the other game.

I don't usually like to get suckered for nostalgia but this time it doesn't look like I'll get suckered. I love the turtles and I love all the arcade games. Turtles in Time was my jam... and it looks like it will be again soon along with this!

It took them 3 years to do a remake in a throwback style? This is a Triple A company right? Indie developers can crank this stuff out like nothing maybe they need to hire some people from kemco to help them with the 2dhd games.

I'm looking forward to this but I'm prepared to be disappointed like everything SE has done in the last 2 decades.
