Re: Iwata Implies That He Could Step Down Over Sluggish Sales Performance

Jonny

No implication? Iwata has apologised repeatedly for the lacklustre launch of the wii u and now ABSOLUTELY commits to improving next year seems quite extreme to me, especially given the Japanese tradition of taking responsibility and throwing oneself on thy own sword if you have failed. I don't like it anymore than the rest of you but I agree with how Nintendolife read this.

And accusing NL of sensationalism? These guys are probably bigger Nintendo fanboys than most of you commenting, they didn't "spin" this story for the views, they did it because they read something into Iwata's comments and fear for the company's future. Just my two cents anyway

Re: Talking Point: To 3D or Not to 3D?

Jonny

What I'm more interested in: If the backlight is the source of the battery life being so low and the backlight is so intense to support the dimmed colours caused by the 3D, is it possible to give the battery life a good kick up the rear by turning off 3D and dimming the light?

Not that it makes much difference to me, my DS died last weekend which basically followed by me going "ah well, now I HAVE to get a 3ds" with a smile on my face

Re: E3 2010: Nintendo's 3DS line-up

Jonny

They should of unveiled all this at the conference, I thought they needed more games to sell the DS, especially since it's big selling point can't be shown over a projector screen

Re: Excitebots Crashes Out At Retail

Jonny

While excitebots may not be out here I can honestly say that it doesn't appeal to me at all and for the life of me I dunno why. It just looks like a gimmicky racer and even the extremely positive reviews can't shake that nagging feeling.

Re: Talking Point: Is Nintendo Ignoring WiiWare?

Jonny

@Ness & Terranigma

Sin and Punishment 2 is being developed by Treasure, Punch Wii is being developed by Next Level Games (people who made mario strikers), Endless Ocean by Arika, Another Code R by Cing.

Everything else you listed is unconfirmed (although pikmin was heavily hinted, they said the same about Kid Icarius last year and nothing turned up at all), with people only assuming that they're coming, for all we know they're not. So once again - what the hell are nintendos teams doing? What happened to the old days when we'd be given glimpses of games a year or two in advance and savour the long wait til we got our hands on them.

Re: Talking Point: Is Nintendo Ignoring WiiWare?

Jonny

It's not just wiiware- nintendo is seemingly not producing any games at all these days. Other then wii sports resort or a bunch of GC remakes what are nintendo cooking up that we know about?

As for wiiware, while there is a lot of shovelware you'll find that with any console, as long as a truely good game (WOG, toki tori, MM9) comes along once in a while thats enough for me, though I am worried when the next great one will come along.

As for wiiware wish list, I'm still waiting on an online co op 4 swords remake, come on nintendo make it happen.

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (3rd Dec)

Jonny

Really makes me happy to keep seeing world of goo out there, as a game gets great reviews and the sales to match it, shows other companies that if they make a great game it will sell.

Sadly it appears good (8/10) games, are a much harder sell.

Re: Earthworm Jim

Jonny

Best cartoon ever. I seriously cannot believe that they marketed that to kids. Most of the jokes were way too smart for that.

Re: USA WiiWare Update: Mega Man 9 and Plättchen

Jonny

500 points cheaper? What the hell are they playing at. Even the few supporters on our side of the bond cannot say that isn't a kick in the teeth to you who gave the game a shot regardless of the negativity.

And whats the size for mm9 gang?

Edit - 66? God my prayers have been answered. A good wiiware game at under 100 blocks? What are the odds.

Digikl and wiiloveitonline

I know it could go up but strong bad 1 was 1st the wednesday after being the previous monday. Part 2 hasn't accomplished that though. It could still go up of course but my comment was only comparing it to the first one when it first came out.

Re: Review: Bomberman Blast (WiiWare)

Jonny

Its still a bit low, and at times there is so many items that i can't see whats happening but thats all part of the crazy nature of bomberman.

@Drake, right don't recall doing anything to unlock em but at least happy that I have all the stages.

Re: Review: Bomberman Blast (WiiWare)

Jonny

I just had a couple of games of countdown online and I really am not fond of that game mode, basically just a glorified version of tag were cheap tactics can win a match. 2 of the stages were unlockable? I didn't notice that when playing them all for all 10 were just there anyway as I went through them. The dodgebomb game when waiting for matches is also pretty fun i think
