translation: it's successful enough to keep releasing a few titles every week but not important enough to put more of a monetary/personnel investment into.
Can't believe it took this long for Ocarina of Time to show up on the Wii U VC. Just one small example of how mishandled this system has been.
Anyway, I'll be picking it up and will probably play through it. I do think the 3DS version is the definitive version, but I pretty much play OOT every time I have an excuse to.
I've supported and enjoyed my Wii U this far. But outside of Yoshi, X, & Mario Maker.. I feel like it's done. All they had to show us new for Wii U this E3 was a disappointing Star Fox, a Mario Tennis game, and an Animal Crossing Amiibo game that nobody asked for. I mean, I want a KK Slider amiibo, sure. But not the game they showed us.
I sincerely doubt Zelda will be a Wii U exclusive. It will come to the next system. That's why they wouldn't show it at this E3, and that's why no new good games were announced for the system. And maybe that's a good thing. Maybe the next system will be better.
But I still bought this one, and I would have liked another big game announced to look forward to before they forgot about it.
This felt like a real filler E3. Mario Maker/X/Yoshi got release dates - - but they were shown off at E3 a year ago. Star Fox looks fun, but we knew it would be there coming in. Animal "Amiibo Party" Crossing was a huge tease and letdown, and though the 3DS Metroid would be pretty cool alongside a core Metroid game, that core game never appeared. The 3DS Zelda game was a nice little surprise since at least we know Zelda U is in the oven but nothing more than that.
After this E3 they have left me feeling like nothing of importance is in the works for Wii U, which tells me they are just waiting it out to announce a new system & games for it in a year. This was their chance to give us faith in the system like they did at least year's E3 - but they failed to do that. So even though Miyamoto said Zelda is still coming to the U, it feels like a hollow promise. Like when they told us last December it was coming in 2015.
I never played this game, and I would probably just skip it normally. But everyone is so hyped for the Wii U game, so I think I'll give this a shot and hopefully it will hook me.
All I know is the US market and how much of a muddled mess nintendo's products are. Naming the new console "Wii u", the new 3ds new 3ds, it's bad. They created that mess themselves, yes, but these aren't decisions that -NOA- made. All NOA can do is try to streamline that a bit for the more casual shopper, and I think overall it's a good idea.
I wish they'd do away with region locking however so that this would be a moot point and you could just grab whatever model you like online.
I gotta say, I agree with their decision. I know some people wanted the face plates, but the XL just plain sells better in NA. And we've all been clamoring for them to define their marketing better. With just the 2DS and the New 3DS XL on the market in NA.. I think that's much less confusing to new customers. For me and my big hands personally, XL is just way more comfortable, but based on XL sales in NA I am not alone.

Pretty much what we already knew.

Re: Lego Jurassic World Pre-Order Freebies Coming To PlayStation and Xbox, But Not Wii U
It's fine tbh, I just am happy I can get the game on my Wii U.

It's just not happening then, funny how they somehow think NX is being announced at e3 and released next year. Uh, nope! Doubt it
