Since the review didn’t mention any graphical issues on Switch, I guess I’ll go ahead and take the plunge. Though I really hope for an eventual free S2 upgrade.

Anybody know if the Switch 2 versions of these games (Silksong is another one) include access to the Switch 1 version? I still like to use my OLED w/ Split Pad Pro. Do r Silksong, I just bought the S1 version and got the free upgrade pack, but I’m wondering if it would work if I just bought the S2 version.

The lack of Switch 2 editions is the weak point for me. It’s frustrating when games like Shinobi & Ninja Gaiden launch with mediocre Switch performance and there’s no S2 version. I want to play these games in handheld, but for now I have to settle for a compromised version or just wait however long it takes for them to be ported. They could be nice additions to the S2 library, but Nintendo decided to be tight-fisted with the dev kits.

Praying that Nintendo got some dev kits into people’s hands so we get proper Switch 2 versions of these games. I was so disappointed with Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, I’m looking sideways at every game announcement that doesn’t specify a Switch 2 version.

@PJOReilly Can you take mouse mode games out of the rotation in Jamboree TV mode? I have the camera and was planning on picking up the upgrade, but the extra set of joycons is a bridge too far for me, and I already have four from my OG Switch.

Looks like Walmart has started emailing people to offer to restore their preorders, according to a bunch of Reddit posts that popped up last night.

@Bengals76 I guess the problem is that the tariffs are based on the trade deficit with the country, not what their actual tariffs are. And the deficit is based largely on the fact that products cost much less to make elsewhere, in part because the workers are paid far less in those places. It’s mind-boggling that this is all being done to try to recreate those conditions here.

@Bengals76 You seem to have an impression of manufacturing jobs that were union jobs in an era when we had a more progressive taxation system and a robust middle class. Do you have any idea how the people who make our electronics overseas live? If you did, you wouldn’t covet their jobs. We don’t even have an unemployment problem here.

I’m glad they’re keeping the comments open. I think the conversation has been very reasonable and on-topic. Unfortunately the tariff situation has basically ruined the Switch 2 hype for me as someone living in the US. I was ready to jump on pre-orders as soon as they opened, and now every post about it feels like a window into a reality that is quickly slipping away. I hope we back off of the trade war soon!

Tariffs will inflate the price of the console as well as just about everything else in the US. If our President continues along this track, I’m sorry to say that playing Mario Kart World is going to be the last thing on anybody’s mind. It’s an unbelievable state of affairs, but here we are.

@Banjo2ee Since you aren’t a US citizen (I am), I wonder where you think our power comes from? A lot of my fellow citizens think it’s because we are just inherently superior. Personally I think that we capitalized on a few moments throughout history to set up an international order that overwhelmingly favors us, and that we are currently undoing at the whim of our President (who is not an economist nor a successful businessman).

@Banjo2ee This is a very superficial analysis. The outcome does not “remain to be seen.” There is a clear consensus that this will be disastrous. The President does not seem to understand how the economy works. Which makes sense, considering his multiple bankruptcies.

@PharoneTheGnome not to mention the cost of manufacturing. There’s a reason why these things are made abroad - US labor is much more expensive. Not to mention, the individual components would also have to be made domestically. Just increased prices at every turn. And for no reason. Do you know any Americans who dream of working in an electronics factory?

Gotta feel bad for the people who listened to the right wing streamers and podcasters and voted for this. Or actually, no, I feel bad for those of us who pleaded with them not to do this and who will now suffer along with them.

Bummed I’m not eligible because I switched to a family membership when they introduced them a few years ago. We share the cost for it, but I’m not the account holder. Hopefully enough people balk at the US price that preorders aren’t too hard to grab next week.

Can’t wait to see how this looks on the OLED. The bright, vivid colors and dark backgrounds seem perfect for it.

I’m surprised this review doesn’t mention the inconsistent frame rate. I adore the first game and I really like the sequel, but a big part of the appeal of these games is just how smoothly they are able to run with the relatively simple graphics. Unfortunately this one gets wonky pretty consistently. Obviously it’s a little more complex, but I’d like to think they could hit 60fps consistently with an update.

Edit: I’m not sure if I missed the part of the review about performance or if it was added. Regardless, thank you for bringing it to attention. I would really love to see it fixed!

I never really thought about it before , but it also fits with the naming convention of a lot of the Mario games: Mario Land / World /Galaxy.

@johnedwin Really? Because the review of Anniversary on this site specifically called out the lack of any graphical or technical improvements. They said it just added the mods from Creation Club.

After reading some of these comments, I was really surprised to see that the game is only $12 on the US eShop. I’ll be picking it up!

The levels that look like Sonic make me excited to check out this game! The ones that look like Death Stranding… not so much.

This is one of the few non-backwards-compatible 360 games and it’s gonna look sick on OLED. This is great news!

Fun game, and the two new courses are a significant addition. I think the game shipped with 5 and now we’re up to 8! Good stuff.

I just love how supportive the characters are,
at least as far as I’ve played. It’s wholesome to the point that it feels fresh & subversive.

I would consider it if it included SMB 2 & 3, but I guess they want to sell those separately. At this point, it just feels wasteful to dedicate a whole machine to less than 256kb of software.

A unique and quite lovely take on the farming/crafting genre. The pacing is perfect. It’s purposeful, but never stressful. The writing is fresh and often funny, and the animation is gorgeous. Cannot recommend it enough!

I love Radiangames’s output. Looking forward to this!
