@dcon11 True, but it's worth noting that Splatoon 3 sold 3.5 million copies in 3 days in Japan. So it is interesting it took a mainline mario game a month to get 1m.
@patbacknitro18 Yes other sites are reviewing the game, but none have the Switch version yet. Usually when companies do this it's because it doesn't run well, but I guess we will find out next week.
Will be interesting to see which game gets to 3M first, Smash or Splatoon? Probably Smash since it's newer and has more momentum right now, but still pretty cool that a newer IP can even be competing for best selling Switch game in Japan.
@tourjeff While NL has okay reviewers they always give games an 8 or higher. So I would trust a Eurogamer review more since they don't praise every single game to be shat onto the Switch.
@ReshiramZekrom Am I missing something? According to the chart above Smash has sold 1.6M in 2 weeks and MK8DX has sold 1.9M lifetime. So yeah, Smash will probably pass it but I don't get how you are seeing that Smash has already overtaken MK8.
I get that software comes with it, too. But does the software really seem worth that price either? Everyone was crapping all over Project Robot, but now that it has a cardboard accessory it's going to be worth $80? And the variety pack is $10 cheaper but one of the "games" is touching left or right on the switch to make your controller vibrate. The rest look like small little mini games.
I understand why people like the concept of it. And maybe there is more to the games than we have seen so far. But as of now, Nintendo has shown cardboard and mini games which is going to sell for greater than normal retail price for a game.
Also, I'm not hating on anyone that likes it because I really do like the idea. I just don't get what people see in the software announced so far.

Nice that they are addressing it but honestly I think it's a little too late.
Re: Random: Store Your Cardboard Creations In This Official Nintendo Labo Box
I wouldn't be surprised if their next console was just made of cardboard at this point lmao. Seriously, Nintendo?

Re: Review: Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion (Switch eShop)
@ermzzz I would love a few different spin offs of Splatoon tbh. Style Savvy, rhythm game, and a 2d platformer all sound amazing.
Re: Mushroom Wars 2 Brings Fungal Warfare To Switch In July
Looks like a creative RTS. I also really like how competitive it looks. Day 1 for me
