One of the main draws for me of Nintendo Selects is being able to buy digital and get the Gold points for My Nintendo. I've considered buying used physical, but for a Select it's not my thing. Thanks though!
I think that DKC3D and Luigi's Mansion are already selects in NA. I hope that Sticker Star makes it though, I've played a little of it and it was very fun! I'd love to get it at a cheap price.
I've been predicting this for the longest, and I'm glad it finally happened! This thing looks super nice! It might even be the best looking 3DS family system!
I've been meaning to pick up an N3DS for a while to play FE Warriors, and this makes that easier! Once I'm able to, I'll gladly upgrade to this!
@Nintendoforlife OK, that's definitely a fair point. Before, making retro inspired games was a bit of a niche thing, but now anyone and everyone does it. So yeah, it's probably trending and I think that's for two reasons. Aspiring game developers look to indie titles like Shovel Knight, they see that people like it for the retro feel and they try to recreate that. The other reason is, as stated previously, ease. I'd assume that 2D, pixelated characters are easier to make than 3D ones, so people who don't have a lot of resources will go for the retro aesthetic, just because it's easier for them.
1. Because often, people want to pay homage to or put their own touch on a series they love. This is the reason for romhacks and fan games. It's also undeniably easier to start from something instead of nothing.
2. The retro game obsession is probably because people have that level of nostalgia for the old games and want to create something similar. The new games being made with old art styles are also easier to make and they look pretty good. It reminds me of my dads explanation for the rise of comic book movies: the people who grew up reading these comics, are now the people making movies. IMO, its the same way with video games, the people who grew up with 8 and 16 bit games are making the games now, so they want to pay homage to that era.
So, will this make the game playable, if it wouldn't be on the original PC? I have Dragon Ball Xenoverse on PC and my computer is too slow to play it. Would I be able to play it with this?
Such a shame. I love games with interesting premises and this one caught my attention as soon as I saw it in the Direct. I don't have a Switch anyways, but I guess I'll get this one on Steam.
@DarthNocturnal There's a manual with the physical version of Shovel Knight? Wow, I feel like I missed out actually. Does it have the same thing on the digital manual? I don't have my 2DS to check.
As someone who didn't get a Wii U, the more Switch games that get ported mean less reason to get a Wii U. Although, it's tempting, since the U is about $100 cheaper.

I couldn't help but notice that one of the backer rewards is a body pillow cover. Okay...

Re: Gallery: Here's What The New Nintendo 2DS XL Looks Like From Almost Every Angle
So I see that microSD card in the picture, does it have a built in port for them? And if so, does it also have a port for regular SD cards?

Re: My Nintendo Adds an Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers 'Calendar'
Well, I love collecting wallpapers (I have over 300 on PC), so I guess this is a nice way to use up spare Platinum Coins.

Who's trying to get Absolutely Unstoppable MineRun?

Yeah, just do what No Mario's Sky/ DMCA'S Sky did. Just change it up enough to not infringe on copyright.

@JamesR I wouldn't know about the durability of 3ds cartridges. Several lost ds carts back in the day have led me to adopt an all digital approach.
