2D time-manipulation action & puzzle side scrolling platformer AeternoBlade 2 has been announced for fan-funding via Indiegogo. The creator of the original AeternoBlade - Corecell Technology - is making a sequel to the Japanese series with protagonist Freyja returning. Not alone this time, 2 new playable characters Bernard and Felix are here help as well as all try to put a stop to their dimension collapsing.
Made using Unreal Engine 4, AternoBlade 2 aims to have new weapons, a bigger world and more puzzles than ever before. The campaign is due to run for a month and is looking for for a fixed goal of $30,000. If successful the game is due for release across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. There is even a stretch goal of $40,000 to have full voice acting across all conversations.
The original Aeternoblade was released in 2014, amassing sales of more than 50,000 copies across Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Will you funding the campaign for AeternoBlade 2? Leave us a comment to let us know.

$30,000 is a modest goal for any Kickstarter/Indiegogo. Good for them. I hope the reach it. Makes me think where some of these other companies. Not mentioning any names saying 5mil for a switch version.
No discredit to the team but the description of the project is making me very wary. There is a lot of begging in it as well. Also, the grammar and effort into the description feels pretty second rate.
I hope the project does well but for me I would not back it.
Well this video already has way more personality than the first game, in my opinion. Hope they reach it. Might be cool to have on Switch.
Meh
I'll wait for the review if it gets made.
Maybe the developers should put a list of improvements this game should have over the original.
Anything to get people to "buy in".
Heard the first one was pretty average at best. Hopefully they fix a few of its mistakes.
At least the stretch goal isn't absurdly high.
This looks pretty good. I enjoyed the first one for the most part. Some small revisions to the controls would make this an awesome game.
Looks pretty cool! I myself don't do Indiegogo, only Kickstarter, as with IG you can take the money and run even if you don't meet the goal. With KS you can still take the money and run, but only if enough people support you to make the goal. That extra level of pressure to deliver tends to make me less wary. Anyways, hope they do well with their campaign!
Wait this game asking for 30,000$ only while the rapper game you post before that asking for 5 million dollars to make it ? LOL wtf
I couldn't help but notice that one of the backer rewards is a body pillow cover. Okay...
Not for me, definitely. Though they are asking for very little. Eventually it will reuse many assets from the previous game.
@Drac_Mazoku I played the demo, and got exactly that feeling, that it was good but needed polish. I never got around to buying the game, but in the same way that I've never gotten around to playing games in my backlog; I hope to, one day, but probably won't.
So I'll gladly look at this campaign, but the low amount asked for worries me. Development is much more expensive than that, and unless they have other funding in line to supplement it, say from an investor who would see a successful campaign as proof of concept, $30,000 won't do much. People may have scoffed (correctly) at Rap Rabbit's absurd $5M Switch stretch goal, but it wasn't quite as absurd as many of them thought.

looks nice and may end up buying it

Well to be fair, they're clearly not native English speakers. Corecell is a Thailand-based studio, which explains away their less-than-perfect grammar (And also the AMAZING voice acting in the trailer ). I mean, don't get me wrong - there's definitely reasons to not feel super confident about this game here. Its just a little unfair to pick on non-native English speakers for their grammar, imo. That's Globalization, baby! The gaming industry has awesome talent from everywhere on the Globe, and we're lucky that thanks to Digital Distribution, its easier than ever to download games from other countries.
The game still looks rough and "mushy" though, Unreal 4-powered or not. I especially like at 0:34s when the character rushes/attacks THROUGH an enemy, then proceeds to launch and combo them while they react BEHIND her. They really should've... just... NOT used that clip in the trailer, lol. Those animations need to be snappier, the collision needs to be tighter, and the speeds tweaked - it, sadly, just doesn't look satisfying to fight enemies :/
Although it is pretty cool how that Bernard guy can juggle enemies then freeze time to use them as platforms.
@TruthfulVoice "Well to be fair, they're clearly not native English speakers. Corecell is a Thailand-based studio, which explains away their less-than-perfect grammar (And also the AMAZING voice acting in the trailer )."
I was about to address the atrocious voice acting, ha ha. Didn't play the first one because reviews were mixed, but it did grab my interest. As @TruthfulVoice also said, the hitboxes (and gameplay in general) definitely needs polish!
Hope it gets made, if it does I'll buy it

@Drac_Mazoku , We remember that you are the one of the very first player who get 100%! Thanks for always support!
@arrmixer Thanks, we will adjust it in our campaign page.
@PanurgeJr We need a little bit low because we fund ourselves from all money we got from AeternoBlade 1. However, if we reach more goal so we can do more. Thanks!
@corecell
Hey thanks for writing back. Good luck!! 👍🏼🙌🏼💪🏼
@corecell It's good to hear the first game did well enough to keep the studio operating; I wish you luck that the second game, and the campaign, does better.
Whoa, wish I saw this while it was active. The first game was awesome for me. Would have given $100 to AB2 for sure!
