@allav866 Yes I have played it. And beaten it, including MetaKnightmare. Also, it was back when the game first launched so its been awhile sine I've played it. I didn't think it was necessary, but maybe I should have stated that that was my opinion. I personally prefer the original as the extra content doesn't really interest me. The only ones to note would be MetaKnightmare and True Arena. Also, they took out Megaton Punch.
@Shining-Void Believe me its worth every penny. I originally played Super Star Ultra for DS, but the original holds up to the remake. Only thing SSU has over the original is being portable.
The only reason I don't use backwards-compatibility is most of my game collection isn't supported or doesn't work right. Maybe if they actually put effort into BC with the 360 that number would be higher. I know many people who used BC with the PS3 and Wii (those models with the feature anyway).
@Frapp Agreed. IMO, this is as bad as the guy that started the "always-on" PR fiasco.
I say this is biased towards SMB3, but if it wasn't I'd be surprised. Both seem like fun games. Seeing this brings back memories. I remember running to the jewelry section of K-Mart to play the Game Watches while my mom shopped.
PLEASE let this come out in the states. I bought MH3U and Luigi's Mansion. I'd break down to buy Castlevania in a heartbeat if it would get me Animal Crossing for free.
@Einherjar Agreed. I hope the decide against using the analog stick. It does not work well with games that were made with the D-Pad in mind. Looking at you MegaMan series.
Better than the original. Not sure if anyone here know about it, but Jeff Farr (creator of this fun little series) actually made a mini-movie on one of the first video game characters ever, Pac-Man! You guys should watch it the guys work is amazing
@Ndayday Agreed. Unless you can guarantee that they will be able to recoup that fee, then don't complain. It sucks that they don't get the game, but small devs can't afford to bring games over.
So the retail download of MH3U comes out 5 days earlier than the physical retail game. >.< You suck Capcom.
I'll be downloading the HarmoKnight demo and maybe MM3. I will have to wait till the 19th to get MH3U. Hoping the circle pad Pro XL comes out on the 19th.
I have been waiting patiently for a Black 3DS XL and now its ONLY being released in the UK? >.< I know we will get it in the states eventually (I hope), but its rather annoying. I HATE region exclusive colors or special edition systems. Thankfully a quick search turned this up: http://shop.capcom.com/store/capcomus/en_US/pd/ThemeID.1944700/ProductID.268583100/Monster-Hunter-3-Ultimate-3DS-XL-Case.html . Look nice and the bottom half is removable (hopefully easily) so you can attach the Circle Pad XL. I'll be buying it day 1 if it shows up in retail.
Ya. That's messed up. 9 out of 10 he agreed to this ridiculous settlement because he didn't have the funds/will to keep fighting it. I know its not going to happen, but I wish there would be a public backlash at Sony for this. =
This game will be my first real foray into Adventure Time. minus what I have learned from friends, the internet, and the parts for a few episodes I caught randomly on TV. I like the humor in the show and am happy it is alive and well in the game. I'm playing through the game using a GameFly rental and I'm enjoying it. When it drops in price I will probably end up buying it.
@pntjr It might have been a better idea if the have been made for the eShop. It seems to be on the same production level and length as Shantae. Due to its popularity and backing from Cartoon Network, its was a retail release.
People complaining about the length of the game: Some games are $40 for 3DS and are just as short. If Shantae had been released at retail people would say the same thing: Great game, too short.
My question is did the previous owner just delete the games or did he wipe the entire system? From what I know, if you do a full wipe of a DSi, 3DS, or Wii you lose access to all previous downloads. This could just be the case of the previous seller not knowing how to properly wipe/"reset" the system.
Really? I find this game a lot of fun. The difficulty curve feel like the games of old which is fine by me. Every time I screw up on a jump its a timing issue on my part. I agree that more films and shows should have been represented, but its ruins the game.
The one thing I will agree with is the drawing does pull you out of the game. It just gets annoying when you have to do multiple times for one jump. Having to quickly color stuff in to make it appear in-game would have been a better mechanic IMO. Buying upgrades to the size of the brush so you can fill in and erase faster would have fit well with the upgrade system in the game.
I bought a NES skin for my GBA SP and it looks great. Sadly I suck at putting these on so I doubt I'll ever be buying one again. I destroyed the one I got for my DS Lite.
@rockman_zero First thing: PLEASE use punctuation.
Second: MM9 wasn't "garbage". MM10 wasn't great but it wasn't horrible either. I don't know why people are either all for the classic or modern style. We wouldn't have the modern (X, ZX) without the originals and the series would have died if not for the modern games. I agree that some of the modern games don't hold up (MMX6-8 I'm looking at you), but they aren't complete garbage.
Honestly, I hope Capcom finally bridges the generations together. I want a cannon story of how the Megaman timeline leads to the X timeline. Same goes for the X timeline in Z and Z into ZX.
About MMZ: It is part of the Megaman cannon as far as I know. I firmly believe the plots of the MMZ games tie in directly to the story of ZX.
@RR529 I agree I want MMV on VC. We will never be able to play it any othe way. Stupid Capcom canceling megaman collection for GBA.
Wish this would come to the US, but I highly doubt it. European gamers deserve it though as they get shafted a lot.
@RupeeClock The article says you have registered a XL before January 15th
Once you register the system on your account, or if you've already done so, you'll be prompted by a promotional banner to claim your freebie.
@Tsuchiya Its not that big of a deal and doesn't screw over anyone. Getting upset about this is like getting upset when a company bundles a game with a console as a special edition. I assume you were unhappy when Nintendo gave early adapters the ambassador program.
@shinokami Would be nice but I highly doubt it. I just bought my XL two weeks ago, so color me not happy. While I don't care for Mario Kart 7, getting it for free would have been nice.
I don't know why Nintendo is trying to take the RPG out of Paper Mario. I enjoyed Super Paper Mario for its blend of Action-RPG and platforming elements. With Sticker Star, they seem to hide all the RPG elements that people have enjoyed with the prior games. It might be in part to lack of detail in the review. There is no mention of HP increase or less damage taken throughout the game.
My biggest gripe with the game is the removal of basic attack commands from the game. While it is something different, I find it annoying. They did away with XP, but you have to grind for stickers in order to actually do anything. Giving up on evil to embrace another in my opinion.
I've been waiting for this for a WHILE!! I can finally get Cave Story . I rented Cave Story 3D from Gamefly and it just didn't feel right. I'm hoping the original "bad" translation is in this version. I miss my "Huzzah!!"s
@Tsuchinoko The Nook and Kindle Fire are like the iPod/iPhone/iPads were you must use a first party USB adapter to charge the device if it is not connected to a computer. As for buying used adapters: Yes you can find used Nintendo chargers in Gamestop. I cannot find the price of one online but I believe they are around $7. As for the devices I mentioned above, I have yet to see a used one in a brick and mortar or online store.
@YelloWishua I will openly state that this is an educated guess based on what I believe are normal manufacturing practices. As for the cost of buying a new adapter: I never said that was the problem. I said I don't find their reason for not including the adapter good enough. And I don't know about you, but I'd rather spend the $5 on a Subway sub than a AC adapter.
@Tsuchinoko Apple was just an example. Many other companies follow this practice. If you want to buy an extra charging adapter for your Nook or Kindle Fire, you must buy one direct from the manufacturer at an inflated price. And while you may not think the same way, I place the Nook and Kindle Fire on the same price point as the 3DS and other handheld gaming devices. Hell, most of the industry does.
Again, my stance on this come from the idea that Nintendo is putting their financial gain over the customer, which is not something they are known for. The whole idea just leaves a sour taste in my mouth and the reasons they give are weak at best. Again this is in my opinion.
@Tsuchinoko Cell phone chargers from the manufacturer usually aren't cheap. An USB charger for the iPhone/iPad/iPod is $29 direct from Apple. IMO that is not cheap. As for people throwing away AC Adapters as they don't need it: While this is a possibility, it is just as likely they will keep them. Hell people usually trade them in for a few bucks. Look at your local (corporate) video game retailer.
@Wheels2050 Are you sure that is why they don't include it or are you just making assumptions? As for the charger not being "free": I know this. I never said it wasn't going to cost someone money. I feel that Nintendo should bite the bullet and take the loss. I again believe the loss would be negotiable in the long run. Based on you what you said, including the adapter would cost $1. So it would cost Nintendo $1M to include it with 1M 3DS XLs. Now how much money are they making on the 1M 3DSes?
Edit: The comments here are starting to go wildly off topic. If you guys want to continue this discussion, may I suggest we move it to the forums?
@YelloWishua Manufactures do not usually sell accessories at that much of a loss. Also you had a very specific manufacturing cost which is rather odd. And Nintendo does have the AC adapters in bulk. They do make them, but I doubt very much that all the parts and labor to manufacture a single adapter cost them $15. Unless you have information to back up that claim, its just hearsay.
@Tsuchinoko So what about people who don't have an adapter?
@Crafton Actually iPods are made to not charge with USB wall chargers that aren't Apple certified. The iPod checks for a signal sent out by the charger. If it doesn't receive it, it refuses to charge.
@LztheBlehBird Agreed. Its a required piece of equipment. THAT is the major issues here. I understand where Wheels2050 is coming from, but I still don't think that is a valid excuse. I can see NoE (and maybe NoA) back-peddling and offering a rebate/refund to customers who had to buy an extra adapter.
@Wheels2050 Again, it doesn't matter if we have one already. It is precedence it sets. Nintendo thinks saving a few bucks is worth more than its customers getting a complete package. Is that really the message Nintendo wants to make to new buyers? If any other company did this, people would complain. There is no reason for it.
While I have a DSi XL and 3DS, I plan on selling one (or both) in order to pay for my XL. So where does that leave me? Since Nintendo isn't seeing the money from me selling my older systems they can withhold a necessary component in order to make up for it? That is how it feels for me. You ask that we see if from their and your point of view, so why can't you look at it from ours?
@Wheels2050 Yes it could save them millions but is saving $1 per system worth the frustration of your customers? Customers who are already baffled by the release of a new version of your new flagship console less than a year after release? Is NoJ and NoE really hurting for money that badly? If so, they have a lot more problems to worry about than saving $1 per system sold.
@Wheels2050 Because Nintendo's reason for not including it doesn't make much sense. If the adapter is so cheap, why can't it be included with the system? Nintendo has them in bulk so it costs them less to include it than it does the consumer to buy it.
I still don't understand how not including a AC adapter is saving Nintendo any money. The only time where that makes sense is if the console runs off standard batteries. I think the only reason the US is getting the adapter included is because Reggie (or someone in the handheld division) was 1) smart enough to know this is a stupid idea or 2) knew the backlash from US consumers would be immeasurable. I can already imagine the lawsuits and BBB complaints filed against them.
@GeminiSaint Agreed. I wish they had a a way to give it the other GBA enhancements (better (brighter) color palette), but I doubt Nintendo's GBC emulator has that kinda option. Here's hoping they can at least unlock the GBA exclusives. If not, we would miss out on an extra Gasha seed in the Zelda Oracle games!
I agree there should be a price difference between digital downloads and retail copies. Its not fair to consumers to pay "full" price for a game they do not physically own and that can be taken away from them (remember those wonderful licensing agreements we all have to sign our lives away to).
On a side not, I think they should allow us to legally rip/dump our retail games to our 3DS. Its probably not going to happen due to piracy and ownership issues, but it would be nice.
I really don't understand why everyone is . We could get nothing. For those of you who already own the games: Is it really so bad that you have them on ONE portable console for easy access? I really don't understand why people can't be grateful to get something. These would be the first people to flip out if Nintendo didn't do anything for early adapters.
@CowLaunch I think this is more of a "reward" for early adapters. Apple usually did the same thing with OSX Lion: If you bought an Apple machine a month or so before the announcement till launch, you got the update for free. I do agree that it won't spark up an increase in sales for the 3DS, but as I said I don't think that is what Nintendo is aiming for. Imagine how pissed off the early adapters would be. Hell (running with the Apple theme as they are the only company who did something like this), Apple had to pay early adapters back after they dropped the price of the iPhone to keep them from rioting.
I was about to flip out when I saw the price drop (read that first), but knowing that I have 10 FREE NES and GBA games coming my way; Ya not so angry anymore. I don't think it will equal the $80 drop drop, but there is always a chance Im wrong. Here's hoping they give us Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland.

Re: April's Club Nintendo Rewards Are Now Available
I got excited when I saw "3DS VC", but Metal Torrent is DSiware.
Re: NES and Game Boy Advance Games Coming to 3DS Virtual Console
I really don't understand why everyone is . We could get nothing. For those of you who already own the games: Is it really so bad that you have them on ONE portable console for easy access? I really don't understand why people can't be grateful to get something. These would be the first people to flip out if Nintendo didn't do anything for early adapters.

@realar ???
Re: NES and Game Boy Advance Games Coming to 3DS Virtual Console
@CowLaunch I think this is more of a "reward" for early adapters. Apple usually did the same thing with OSX Lion: If you bought an Apple machine a month or so before the announcement till launch, you got the update for free. I do agree that it won't spark up an increase in sales for the 3DS, but as I said I don't think that is what Nintendo is aiming for. Imagine how pissed off the early adapters would be. Hell (running with the Apple theme as they are the only company who did something like this), Apple had to pay early adapters back after they dropped the price of the iPhone to keep them from rioting.
Re: NES and Game Boy Advance Games Coming to 3DS Virtual Console
I was about to flip out when I saw the price drop (read that first), but knowing that I have 10 FREE NES and GBA games coming my way; Ya not so angry anymore. I don't think it will equal the $80 drop drop, but there is always a chance Im wrong. Here's hoping they give us Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland.
