Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo 3DS Direct Summary

Grodus

I was expecting Mario to bring the party to Wii U, but hey! I'm not complaining, there'll be a (hopefully good) MP for Wii U anyway. And I'd like to see what they do with these rules on the boards. As for the Yoshi's Island and Earthbound: Where did that come from!?

Re: Nintendo Files New "Remotely Controlled Mobile Device Control System" Patent

Grodus

@LB33 You could name the voice buttons so you know which one they are, and have all the buttons on the touch screen. (Voice buttons, not movement and stuff like that.) An octopus dance style thing can be used on the control sticks, he can be moved with the d-pad, and the actual buttons can be basic voice clips, like "Hello," "What's up," "Goodbye," "See you soon," and other clips already loaded on there. (You would choose 2 sets of four. [Set 1: ABXY Set 2: LR ZL ZR] You can, of course, name these sets.) Then you could program movement commands in program mode, where you just move the robot yourself to do stuff, label the command, and make it a button! Imageine: "Oh, that's the door. Hey, R3-D3, can you get that?" (moves over and pushes open door button) "Thanks!" (Makes him say "what's up, doc?")

Re: No Circle Pad Pro In Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon Because "It Didn't Add Anything"

Grodus

Um, I haven't gotten a CPP due to the fact 3 games have it, one of which is for left handed control, and I'm not left handed, so it doesn't really bother me, but they should have at least HAD it.

EDIT: Um, isn't the only time you have to do that when you walk across bridges? When you look through something, you can just use the circle pad. I only just beat the first mansion, so I could be wrong. There could be more.

Just look at the date of the first comment, then look at the date on your computer clock. We've been waiting SO long, and now we're SO close, it's crazy.

Re: Minecraft is Just As Likely To Appear on Wii U as Any Other Platform

Grodus

I've never played Minecraft, though I may consider buying it if it comes to Wii U, just because it would work great for the touch screen. I'd be more likely to buy it if it came to 3DS, for the same reason I usually use GamePad only in games: either I'm half blind or my TV is way too small.

EDIT: @SunnyShores You mean your "Mindcraft?" Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai: Stories in Video Games Can be "Irksome"

Grodus

I see where he's coming from, but I personally disagree. Its part of the game. Just like games where places you can go have enemy's for when you are much stronger, or need a special attack you get late in the game, or whatever else and they can easily kill you, the story line affecting your character/party/villain or whatever else is part of the game. And please don't say "but you can run away from the overly powerful enemy's" because you only do that (go to them) if its your first time through or you're trying to speed run.

EDIT: I should probably add that in my example, I'm assuming this is your first time through and you don't know the enemy's are too powerful, so It isn't like a "Well, you went to them, so its your fault!" kinda thing.

Re: Talking Point: This Fan's Tragic Tale Highlights The Problem With Nintendo's Approach To Download Purchases

Grodus

Ok. The problem here is the max is $200, unless I'm insane and that's just the 3DS max. Anyway, what nintendo should've done is give him 200,000 points too, then all would be fine. As @Cipher (3) said, that one guy even got compensation, too, but Jon had the max they can give him (unless they want to include 3DS if he has one).

EDIT: Also, you can very simply just make so each account can only be locked into one Wii U at a time, so only one copy is floating around, like a retail game.

Re: Yarn Yoshi

@2Sang It's made by the same team, I wouldn't call using your old ideas with a new character a rip-off. Just... not creative.

Re: Hardware Review: Wii U

Grodus

I didn't have any problems with internet connection, and I think the crashing was initial hype, mine crashed 6 times in the first 3 days and then stopped (you read that right, most of it was playing the heck out out if it with friends... luckily, we all had our 3DS's.)
EDIT: also, my GamePad loses connection when I hide it from cheating toads in Mario Chase. I also lost connection playing beside the couch (cheaters are everywhere) about 2 yards away from the console. I is confused.

Re: Review: Nintendo Land (Wii U)

Grodus

@rjejr Plaza is one player (It actually makes sense the way they do this, It shows up on both TV's, so others can see Miiverse posts and prize descriptions.) and everyone can use their account mii, you cannot play as a Mii with no account.
