@dizzy_boy Well, actually getting to use the console would be a decent reason I guess. I get where you're coming from though, as I too love anything shiny and special edition. But with nintendo you know there will be a flood of special paintjobs around the corner at any given time. I'm stressed out and feel like I'm missing out constantly.
I believe Sony are making this move out of necessity to support PSVR. VR requires reliable high performance to work it's "magic". Frameratedrops are a much larger issue in VR than on a screen, and will likely cause motionsickness. Pretty sure Sony has realised they've bitten over more than the PS4 can chew with VR.
I mostly skipped the Wii because it was too gimmicky to my tastes. This looks even worse by far. Hope this or something like this isn't going to be the main "feature" of the NX.
My idea of an NX winning recipe: 1: Brutal hardware to cater for definitive editions of 3rd party titles. 2: Strong lineup of own IP's that speak for themselves. Zelda, Mario, DK, Metroid etc. 3: Partner up with Playtonic. 4: Let gimmicks be optional.
@Squid_Gangster How is THAT the stupid part? You are aware that Nintendo are about to release mobilegames, right? I have bigger doubts about the rest og my concept tbh
How about this. For NX users without sufficient internet access; The NX controller is or contains a storage unit. Nintendo retailers will be supplied with equipment for wireless transfer of nintendo software. You buy either a download code, an amiibo or whatever, which will let you download the game to your controller or storage device while you hang out or shop at the store. Heck, the download might even start with a minigame you can play to pass the time while the rest of the download goes. And with Nintendos recent venture into the mobile market you can also do this with your smartphone. Go home and connect to your NX and transfer the game. Meanwhile the rest of us do what we already do. Download most of our games.
The Nintendoid in me is bummed. However, this might be good news. This will force nintendo to be creative and think outside the box (as always). After all, the MOAR POWAH-approach is the simplest, least inspired and least creative route in innovation. I do however see the appeal in the eyecandy aspect strong hardware opens up for. As a multiplatform owner I'm not that bad off i guess. But not everyone has that opportunity.

Re: Psyonix Is Evaluating Bringing Rocket League to the Switch
Sure. I'll buy it a 4th time.....
Portable RL sounds like a no brainer, so I guess that won't happen.
