Re: NightSky Coming to 3DS eShop

I've played through the Mac version several times (and even the now-collector's item WiiWare version that will likely never see the light of day) and I love it! Can't wait to see it in 3D!

I still don't get the Epic Yarn hate. Fantastic game and still captured the cute personality of Kirby and had some amazing gameplay ideas. That being said, after playing this baby at E3, I was pretty impressed with it. Two great Kirby games for the holidays! Win-win!

I added the E3 trailer. It should give you an idea of how the game is played. But you can't fully appreciate this one until you see it in 3D and play it for yourself.

The version I played at E3 had you pressing the jump button to jump and then pressing it again in mid-air to hover. It felt very intuitive and really was one of the best parts of the game.

Maybe they don't want to spend too much time and money sorting out minor flaws for potentially no benefit in the number of sales of their games.

That is not the kind of company I want to support with my money if that was indeed their attitude towards this game, or any of their games for that matter. You don't see a developer like WayForward taking that approach, no matter how low they expect sales to be.

I logged over 600 hours on the original Hot Shots Golf on PSP. There is probably no game in my 30 years of playing that I've put more time into than that one. But I'd love to see a new Mario Golf, not matter who develops it, at least as long as it's good.

I shall wait for Hot Shots Golf Vita then. I tried this briefly the other night and it just felt entirely too clunky. Come on Nintendo, bring us Mario Golf on 3DS. PLEASE!

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Makes Bold Move with the 3DS

Most of the Vita games I played looked very near completion at E3, so I don't get the feeling they're rushing the system. And as much as I loved getting my hands on the 3DS in March, I still think it too would have been better suited for a September or October launch. At least Nintendo are making adjustments to give the 3DS system every opportunity to succeed during the upcoming holiday season with the price drop and the amazing games on tap, Vita or not.

Like what Sony looks like when they decided to release in October instead of early next year, very desperate and arrogant.

Actually, I think October is probably the best time of year to launch a console and I'm hoping that Nintendo fights the urge to launch the Wii U in the spring/summer next year and instead waits until October/November 2012.

I think much of the backlash has more to do with gamers who go out and support the systems on launch day and then turn around and watch the companies drop the prices so quickly after launch. And this pertains to not just Nintendo, or even the video game industry, but companies of all types of products. Perhaps in this economic time, people are just getting fed up with the practice. But what did we expect Nintendo to do with sales lagging - stick to their guns and not try anything to rectify the situation?

I think the price drop is a good idea to help get the system selling heading into the holiday season, but there's also a part of me that feels like it makes Nintendo look a bit weak having to drop the price so significantly and so soon after the system's launch. Of course, if it gets the 3DS sales going again and gives them a strong showing during the holiday shopping season, it will all be worth it.

@Mully - You have read my preview of the 3DS games from E3, right? And to my knowledge, other than the few 3DS bugs I've experienced, I haven't said anything bad about the 3DS system. I think we have some touchy Nintendo fanboys around here is what I think. LOL And just because I like the VITA, doesn't mean I hate Nintendo.

Wow, how nice for those fans who went out and bought a 3DS at launch. Just for that, I hope the VITA kicks the sh*t out of 3DS. I knew Nintendo was getting scared, but an $80 price drop less than 6 months after the system's launch...they must be terrified! LOL

Update: Okay we get some free games. I take it back Nintendo. Now I just hope the VITA kicks the 3DS a little bit.
