I was kind of scared with the 4th game. Especially with the chainsaw people running around and cutting your head off. The first time I saw that I nearly wet myself. (Yes, I'm exagerating) Those were some truly horrifying moments when I first got my head sawed clean off. Now I can't help but jump when I hear a chainsaw start up!
Can't hurt to ask- This one made me cry, lol, rofl, cry some more and then some more lol's. A true classic- Performance Version? Wii Fit vs. Doctor- 219 to 149? Never knew Wii Fit worked. Selling dogs by the pound- Victoria's Secret? The direct approach- Add me to that list! The Wii is alive!- 0.0 That is incredible! We still quite like Helix.- Salvation was the best, wasn't it? When good users go bad- ... ooooooooooooooooooooook
I was going to buy it at release. The save file thing didn't ever bother me, but the gameplay reviews did. It seems boring now. So I guess I'll take my money elsewhere.
(Disapointment toward Nintendo of America) @Alexneon Your in Nicaragua arn't you? If you bought a Wii there, you have a PAL system. No need to hack, just import.
People are always PS3 this 360 that... and Wii is horrid. I think personally that most exclusive content given to PS3 and 360 is total trash as most are just first person shooters. I own four, count them, 4! Different gaming systems. Wii, PS3, 360, and PC. For all my hardcore, First Person Shooters, RPG's, Racing, needs I use my PC because I have a nice video card. I get great graphics and I get awsome games on PC.
360 died on me on my fifth game purchase. (Fable 3) I gave up on it due to all the boring games going for the system. I mean its just a Red Ring of Death. I have a PS3 just as a bluray player since I never bought a single game except Little Big Planet. Everything else on PS3 I could buy on PC, so I did.
Wii has games I will always go back to. Super Smash Brothers is an example. My buds come over for a gaming session I pull out the Wii. I havn't heard a single complain about graphics when playing a round of Super Smash since it isn't the graphics that make a good game. Wii has a load of FUN games that I like... NO! LOVE! They are fun and that is what I get from Wii. If you rely on graphics then you arn't a gamer.
Gaming companies still treat us like little kids. We can understand Japanese references just fine. We are not in the first grade and we can understand them. The world is more accepting of other cultures nowadays.
@Squiggle55 That will only be if you let it happen. I for one will never give up on physical copies of games as they are always worth something. If you can't resell it and it stays in one place forever linked to a console it also makes buying a used console expensive since people will want money for what they bought.
@Dragoon I was born that same year! This article was a great read. (Especially Corbie's) I havn't really ever played a sonic game. (Which is sad I know) But it seems most all of you have cookey stories with this series and seem quit fond of it. I might just try it out!
People keep saying that if Nintendo is on par with Microsoft and Sony in terms of graphics, then it is going o be behind in the next generation. What I say is that the graphics war is over. There is no way in this world that graphics can get better. They are at their peak. Any more realistic and I think its going to be like looking through a video camera. The next consoles (if they ever do come out soon) will be emphasized on more games and more special ways to play. Just think about it guys
What I don't like about the fanboy thing today is that it leads to this entire mind set that all first party games from so, and so, are worthless. Well... Not as much games so much as hardware. The Wii and Playstation 3 have their own ups and downs as do the handhelds!
So many fanboys. What ever happened to the times where I would go over to my friends house to play his playstation and him to my house so we could play my nintendo. Times when people cared about the games and not about the label on the console?
You guys don't take in to the equation that developers need to recieve a profit, the lincensor, the retailer, the manufacturer. Everyone gets a cut of the profit. Sure the game might cost less that $10 dollars to make but nintendo can't give that up for free. The retailer can't just sell it to you for the same price they bought it, everyone needs a profit. A free to play game would eliminate some costs but in the end little people will actually pay for premium stuff.
I grew up on this Zelda game. So I'm not that old. I really enjoy every Zelda game since they are all the same just with different flare and different challenges. Each with its own unique story.
Console apperal isn't important to me. What should be important is the controller it uses. The controller looks bulky, heavy, and really unconfertable to hold. The playability of a console lies in its controls and not it's body.
@7 IDK about Really, Really, Really behind but they are a little off. Achievments for me are a bunch of worthless icons. I mean none of my buds walk up to me and say "Hay, I saw you got that (Achievement/Trophy) on (Xbox/Playstation)" And I am really one of those who really doesn't care what their friends are playing at that instant. Yes the friend codes are annoying, but so is having to pay every 3 months or yearly for a service that should be free. That is just my opinion.
I honestly don't really care about backwards compatability since I owned an XBox 360 and it could not play many of my games. (Mostly Tony Hawk) Nintendo had to drop Gamecube support eventually. I'm hoping for a Gamecube Controller layout for a new classic controller so that I may play my new SSB in peace when It comes out! Or atleast some Cube Controller ports!
I am really hoping for 3DS and Wii U video chat compatablilities. That would be awsome! Still holding out, next week I get my first true 3DS game. Guess what it is...
I would have gone for Partners in Time rather than March of the Minis. D: But I don't own any of these so I will be happy to collect them all... for a reduced price.
For me hardcore means, shooter fans. Casual gamer, gamers that play everything. Don't get me wrong. Those are my opinions based on that most shooter fans call themselves hardcore. If i were to select what each meant I would make them backwards to each other. Get what I mean?
I cannot begin to tell you guys how many steam accounts I have lost upon switching to a new computer. Digital media is all fine and dandy but alot of the heavier, bigger games, do take long download times. And then you forget your password due to long intrevals of not using it. Besides that you can never let a bud borrow a game without borrowing your pc, or in this case 3ds. Physical media is always ganna be appreciated. Atleast by me.
Edit: One more thing @aaronsullivan You call us old because we stick to cartridges like old people to black and white tv's. (Which rarly happens unless they are colour blind.) But you are stuck in the Ipod touch generation. because even with in depth games, apple doesn't let you link too many ipods to one account. This will never be good way to let people borrow your stuff, by linking your account to theirs. They recieve everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, including credit card info. Sure password protect works but with enough time they will figure it out. The ipod lifestyle is not cut out for serius gaming due to it's lack of buttons too. Nintendo did well to do everything it has. Sure Nintendo hasn't figured online just yet but they leave it up to the experienced game makers to set it up themeselves. All in all, I think you seem like a child that asks for everything that has barley come out, and also loans out money to freinds without knowing the worth of a dollar. No offense, if it has then I shall remove the comment.
"what a load of bull! come on sega, and everybody else for that matter, I just have to look at some wii titles to know its rubbish. If young kids keep pushing this graphics and download rubbish then gaming will be a very expensive hobby or interest. So called hardcore gamers and these sony and ms companies are influincing 3rd parties to produce over expensive games, and allowing them to give you half the games and sell more to you via download! I could show you loads of examples of this and thats one of the reasons third parties dont sell on ninty plats! how dare you sega I was such an admirer of you but now you and others are just letting me down!"
I bet that is the reason Nintendo isn't such a fan of DLC. Cause they will charge you tons for DLC that should have been included in the first place. EG(Call of Duty)
Higher poly count, High-res textures, remade audio, and Master Quest do make for an interesting package. And again... am I the only one who hasn't forgotten Skyward Sword?
I hope he also included that Angry Birds has many sequals that just have different maps and no deep story. Video games are art. Apple, and Droid apps are cheap and non reselable or borrowable.
I remember a time when you had to take a conroller to a freinds house just play super mario bros. on a small tube tv that made the game look like a fuzzy blanket. And now they get 3d, their own screen, and awsome graphics and they complain that they can't play random strangers online.
@WaveBoy You also have to remember that a console is just a waste of electricity without good games. If I wanted to go on the Internet using my tv to watch videos, I would just plug my PC into the tv. Still hopefully new Zelda announcement.
The Wii had stripped down versions of Call of Duty because the software developers decided to "port" the same HD version to the wii. Instead they should've recreated the engine so that it can make the game look fantastic. I mean look at Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime, Conduit. All perfectly good looking games because the engine was made to run on a Wii.
As some of the other commenters have said, I hope to do away from the blu-ray and go for the catridge medium. I mean look at all the 64 gb sd-cards that match a blu-ray dual-layer disk. They are more sturdy and definatly quicker loaders than a blu-ray disk. EDIT: Oh and one more thing, A STARFOX GAME!!!!!!!!!!!
