@Yosher I'm sure it will get its own presentation when it's ready to show off. I disagree that the 'vast majority' of people will be unable to go if they'd like to. Japan is a plane ride away!
I noticed the input delay in Wind Waker on day 1 of the NS2 and it's been making me hesitant to replay. GX did feel a bit snappier in comparison and I appreciate the widescreen setting going to full 16:9.
What I'm still puzzled by is Nintendo not letting us black out the pillarbox bars on the sides of NSO. I'd much rather see pure black than the weird dotted gray pattern, which is a constant reminder I'm playing through an app instead of just seeing the game. Why can't that be a toggle? (I'm not asking to stretch 4:3 games, just to hide the graphical border.)
@PinderSchloss It's totally possible Wind Waker HD will be ported in due time (along with Twilight Princess HD, the enhanced versions of OOT + MM, etc), but this is much less work for them and still provides something compelling and nostalgic that's giving a small reason to move to NS2. I don't necessarily agree with it being the best choice for fans, but I see why they went this route for now and I'm glad the original game is being presented in this way for now.
Yeah - basically it works with the OG Switch because it's using similar principles to how the Wii U GamePad functioned (or the PlayStation Portal nowadays); streaming video/audio over a local network from powerful hardware (Switch 2) to another screen (OG Switch).
Regarding TotK's framerate, last week's Treehouse demonstration showed it capping to 30fps in the depths when they were riding a fire-breathing fan vehicle. I was surprised they demoed that!
@kurtasbestos One of the launch-day official Switch accessories was the Joy-Con Charging Grip. It's still around $30 and lets you play while charging 2 Joy-Cons.
@PikminMarioKirby The majority of people are happy with the framerate being halved? Everyone is pleased with graphical upgrades, but you can't make a sweeping generalization like that.
SMRPG Remake is both gorgeous and 60fps, so it's not like the Switch is incapable.
@Browny "Someone created the code or art used to make a door or bug or monster in a game. They got paid to do it, got their name on the credits. 20 years later someone else was paid to do the same thing, and told to use the original game as a point of reference. Now they get to have their name in the credits instead"
It sounds to me like you're unfamiliar with what "Metroid Prime Remastered" is. It's not a remake of the original. It's a port with enhanced graphics and controls, running ON TOP of the original codebase and artwork.
@nimnio "He got paid"? The article clearly states that multiple members of the original Metroid Prime team have called this into question, and for good reason.
"The credits are just a cute tradition. The vast majority of industries don’t have them"
Most creative industries do. Artists are credited, authors are credited, film crews are credited, actors are credited, musicians are credited and, most applicably to this discussion, game developers ARE credited. And that team can include hundreds including all of the fields mentioned above.
@nimnio It's "petty" to want your team to be credited for a game they built? "Metroid Prime Remastered" isn't equivalent to a movie being rebooted decades later with a new script and cast; it's a 1:1 enhancement of the original game that those people brought into existence through years of work.
I'm going to guess you've never worked in any creative industry based on your comment. And hopefully no creatives have to work with you.
@MichaelP On the official Nintendo site: "A total of 48 remastered courses from throughout the Mario Kart™ series are racing to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game as paid DLC."
@ShadJV Money trees do not consistently max out at 30k - I buried 50k a few days ago and the tree sprouted with 150k this morning. Many similar reports on twitter, etc. Seems like SOME trees max out at 30k but it's either assigned randomly or every other day - I've seen reddit threads trying to break it down but nobody's agreeing on the criteria yet.
@strongest_link The versions in Rare Replay were remasters; dual-analog controls were introduced, textures were upgraded, framerate was doubled to 60fps, resolution was full HD and the aspect ratio was 16:9.
@nitwit I work in the entertainment industry. Yes, obviously merch companies are told about new games before they're announced because it takes months to create products. But you're missing my point about how there was new Banjo (and Conker) merch over 6 months ago with plenty of speculation and no corresponding games. There's no reason to believe this is different.
@nitwit They didn't tease it like it's a new game. It's a merch brand promoting their own merch and saying they can't comment on it further. That's marketing.
Banjo had this same backpack in the Totaku action figure (I have one!), posted to Nintendo Life in October last year. Probably nothing new here, sadly.

Lots of people saying this is 7 years too late and not thinking about how it's 1 year early!
Re: Bayonetta Origins Director Empathises With Paper Mario Dev, Suggests Reasons For 30FPS
@cvrator SMRPG Remake was built from the ground up for Switch on the Unity graphics engine; nothing was ported.
Re: Bayonetta Origins Director Empathises With Paper Mario Dev, Suggests Reasons For 30FPS
@PikminMarioKirby SMRPG Switch ran at native 1080p60, and its lighting effects were no slouch

Re: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Switch Frame Rate Revealed
Been bummed since the first trailers revealed it was 30fps, especially considering the gorgeous SMRPG remake ran at 60fps.

Re: We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie Frame Rate & Resolution Detailed
Bummed to see they couldn't get the Switch version at 60fps. Will get this one on PS5 instead even though I bought the first on Switch.
To people having trouble with the controls, practice makes perfect! I thought the original translated well to Switch with the default control scheme.

Re: Nintendo Wastes No Time In Updating Super Mario Run For iPhone X
