Re: Review: Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - An Excellent Port Of A Timeless Classic

CainTheConfused

I have to disagree with one con mentioned in the end of the review:

There was no need to touch yasunori mitsuda (I think, trying to remember the lead composer off the top of my head) work on this one. Fft has an amazing soundtrack and any modernizing of it would sound as awful as some of the...choices...in ff7remake and rebirth.

That hip hop chocoholic track scarred me.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (7th June)

CainTheConfused

This weekend isn't a lot of play for me as I'm awaiting the arrival of my nintendo direct purchased switch 2 this coming week.

Keep hope anyone that got on the pre-order list through the nso app — I got my invite to buy the day after launch and I think the invites are still to come, you're not out of the running yet.

I'll probably fire up three houses in the evening for some chill mindless fighting to take my mind off my day though, that counts right?

Re: Randy Pitchford Defends Borderlands 4 Pricing Comment

Well here's the question:

Why does bl4 require "twice the budget" of bl3 to make?

What are you doing that is so different from the previous titles that you need that much more money to make it happen?

Are you employing more people? Paying them better? Did you make a significant tech jump on this title?

Make us believe it. Don't be the typical randy pitchford and demand us believe all your nonsense is true.

Re: "We MUST Resist Buying These Game-Key Releases", Says GamesMaster Host

CainTheConfused

I probably won't buy a single physical title unless I buy them at the same time as my switch so I really don't care about this game key card controversy to be honest

Game key cards don't bind at the account level so can be resold

Game key cards download the missing data when you put it in, just like all games patch on first use.

It saves companies that can't afford or don't want to invest in full size carts money which in this gods awful economy is understandable.

You don't like them? Fine, don't buy them. Other than that this just seems like much ado about nothing.

Re: Mario Day Celebrations Begin With Free Switch Online Trial (US)

CainTheConfused

The fact multiple of you think it's scummy for a company to charge you for access to servers they have to maintain to play games online is hilarious.

So you think these companies should just have an expense to make online games happen and you're just supposed to benefit from it?

The entitlement is so strong. I hope you folks are just older or something because the next generation has enough problems without this level of self serving attitude also embedded in it.

Re: Nintendo Updates Switch Online's N64 Release Schedule

@Znake

What on earth is that logic?

First, money spent on a sub isn't "wasted" if the sub and items stops existing later. You're paying for access then and there and can use it during that time. If you don't use it while paying for it then yes, it becomes wasteful, but otherwise it just is what it is.

That second part ... you won't pay for the sub because you already have the old hardware/software ... but you'd buy them as individual products knowing that the downloads can go away someday too?

That's...not motivation for nintendo to do anything different at all.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy A Digital-Only 'Switch 2'?

CainTheConfused

Ever since the ps3/360 generation introduced an online digital store for purchasing products, it felt like only a matter of time(and the data compression on discs not keeping up) before we went fully digital.

And that was in an era of 10/20gb hard drives.

I'm not saying it's good, right or anything. It has been a direction we've been generally pulled in for a very long time.

And it's not like going totally physical safeguards you from anything anymore. Most games these days, only a portion of the data is on the disc.

What good does that do you when the storefront and online functionality goes away?

I wholly respect the physical only crowd and I at the very least buy the physical media machines as well just to split my options. But we have to brace ourselves for the day that "the PS6/NeXtBOX/Switch 2 will be digital only" won't just be a rumor or talking point, but reality.

And do with that what we will.
