@axelhander Yeah, but they've got the sense to at least ACT like they're an honest business that cares about things like craft and game preservation, which DOES make a difference.
@Juga_Juga I wouldn’t bet on it, unfortunately. Marble Madness is on the wrong end of WB’s divestment of Atari’s console & PC divisions, so it got put on the WB-to-Namco-to-Midway carousel, eventually ending back up with WB. That said, your taste in arcade games is clearly excellent and I sincerely hope we get a new Midway Arcade collection soon (have we seriously not gotten one since 2015?).
If Nintendo are driven by a desire for variety, wouldn't only focusing on Mario and Zelda be the opposite of that? I think you meant to say "money and NOT variety," which is, sadly, a fairly accurate statement.
@BacktoNarnia I'm not so sure...that mindset, applied too strictly, could have cost us Ness, the Ice Climbers (who did have significant impact on gaming history, but only AFTER they were tapped for Melee), the Wii Fit Trainer, and maybe even Palutena (I love Uprising as much as anybody, but 20 years between games does not a mainstay make).
Also, I don't suppose we could get to see the complete results for the poll, could we?
@Platypus101: Actually, I do remember that one of the branching paths in Tower of Doom has you fighting sahuagin boarders on a sailing ship and I think that a beholder and a mind flayer might have shown up as level bosses; however, I am 95% sure that there are no githyanki in CoM. Also, even though no D&D knowledge is required to play CoM, I highly recommmend giving Mystara a look; it's one of the oldest and most well-developed D&D campaign settings, with a well-developed hollow-world concept, an interesting take on the divine and enough material to keep you going for a VERY long time.
@retro_player_22: Super Secret Special Option E) Offer them a chance to become an official licensee
@Tornado: There's really no question, at least in my mind, that making IP law less restrictive across the board would be vastly better for society. That much power over the culture in one small group's hands almost never works out well for anyone except the few people at the top. The real key, though, is getting rid of the notion of "sleeping on your rights", which made sense in the world before the Internet, but is utterly unworkable today.
@chewytapeworm, Rafie: I'm afraid that, at least under the current rules for being in SSB, it's no dice for Bucky O'Hare–he actually got his start as an indie comic book in the '70s, so he isn't a 'video game character'. Still, at least you didn't suggest Goku...
On a more general note, I find it almost unthinkable that any of the original 12 would be cut and would also bet heavily against anyone who was in both Melee and Brawl getting the axe. Given that, I think that Toon Link is definitely gone, with Wolf's chances of making it into SSB43U not looking too good and Snake being able to go either way. Most of the others should be safe, but I've been wrong before...

Re: Random: Xenoblade Chronicles X On Switch Has A New 'Sex' Warning, But Why?
There's a joke in here about how even the ratings agencies didn't care about the Wii U...
