Re: Nintendo, Sony And Xbox Update "Safer Gaming" Principles

@Nep-Nep-Freak Why aren't they trying to get the lootbox mechanics out of the games, especially the sport games?

Because if they did, it would actually hurt the bottom line of many companies, who rely on conditioning the children minds, to get them used to gambling. Lootboxes when you are 7, sports betting when you are 18.

Even the CNN have "partnered" with the betting company Kelshi, and the saddest part about that is: they've done that to improve their image.

Karens didn't manage to kill the gaming in 2014, they've just wounded it, and they've been coming back each year since then, trying to finish the job. This is just their latest attempt, and it will end up as all the previous ones: on the trash heap of history, being ridiculed by people and studied by sociology "scientists".

If they've had all the upgrades for all the first-party titles on Switch 1 ready to sell on the launch, they would at least sell more consoles in the first months. They thought if they didn't make the upgrades, people will buy more new games, but they didn't have them ready either, and they are overpriced AF, especially in the EU.

But when the new Super Smash Bros comes out, everybody who was waiting, will suddenly forget about the price of the console or the game. They will probably charge $100 and 110/120 €, I believe that the $100 on release + a ton of DLCs $10+ was the industry's (not just Nintendo's) goal for a long time.
