Re: Talking Point: The Virtual Console's PAL Problem

Big_A2

@19.Neoprenanzug: But there lies a problem, becuase some games (eg Mega Man 3) have the music sped up to match the speed of the NTSC version but the game isn't. So, if we ran it in PAL60, the game would play fine but the music would be too fast. Some games have this, others don't.

I think if they just gave the NTSC versions to us it would be a fix that would work with all the games.

Untill then, Princess Toadstool will just have to wait 17.5% longer than American Princess Toadstools to be saved.

@7.Ren: They don't need to bloody "re-code" them, they just have to give us the US version. It's not that hard.

Also, it not always has to do with nostalgia. Some poeple are playing these games for the first time. They should be played how they were meant to be played. They should give us a choice between 50hz or 60hz, so people can have their nostalgia if they want.

@Strom_Owl: What part of "mission to rid the gaming world of execrable franchise-bleeding and license abuse" don't you understand?

I suppose it's good to get another veiw on the game. The stuff you said is why some people don't like it.

But I mean, sure it may be a port of the GBA version only, but it is pretty cheap considering the price of the DS version, or even the price of importing a second hand GBA version. I prefer the DS version anyway just for the conveniance of having it portable.

Wow, hang on, didn't the last paragraph say something about using the "s word" before?

@36.Odnetnin: I was just about to say that.

Even glader I got Bowser's Inside Story for Chirstmas. Still havn't gotten the chance to finish it though. So far it's fantastic.

I mean, it can't be selling THAT poorly, can it?

I guess this means Australia will be getting it around the same time, and if not, before Europe.

This Pokewalker thing has to be the greatest idea ever to get kids (and me) to exersise. No more complaining about how much I have to walk around at school from class to class. Exept if when the thing breaks your Pokemon is gone with it. Then there's no way I'm taking it anywhere.

Re: Near Five Year Development Cycle for Zelda Wii?

@retrobuttons: Where does it say they use all their manpower? It just says they might be working on another Zelda game at the moment, and it's from early 2007. Phontom Hourglass was released in mid 2007 in Japan, so there we go.

However, since the DS versions sell just as well as the Wii versions, so I'd imagine that they would put as much effort, yet take less time becuase there's less to work with.
