@1.Otaku: You didn't see any pictures of TVs in this article. Don't talk about what you didn't see.
Besides, retro consoles through composite cables look like crap. An upscaler or RBG cable is essential if you want your retro games to look decent on a HDTV
@13.JakobG: Um, no, they do make the image look sharper.
@29.WaltzElf: I totally agree with you, but I've given so much money to video game companies here, the region locking is just a kick in the balls. If there was no region lock, I would've happily bought the system locally.
And besides, Nintendo of Australia's repairs service has always been great (they fix dead save batteries in old games for free), so I hope they won't have any issues fixing imported stuff, even if I have to pay.
I hope this one is more of an "advancement" than New Super Mario Bros Wii, which was just the DS game with new level layouts and multiplayer (there I said it). Even the bloody music is the same songs.
I don't see what the big deal is with this game... maybe I'm not far enough yet, but it feels like Donkey Kong Country for people with attention disorders. It just doesn't have the same deep, dark, jungle vibe that Rare's games had.
Too bad the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection doesn't have Sonic 3 & Knuckles (but it has Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles ), so what's the best and cheapest way to play S3&K in 60hz?
Agreed. Legal legal issues my ass. If you can get old NTSC imports like Super Mario RPG or Final Fantasy, there's no reason you can't give us "import" versions of the all the other titles.
@TheColorsOfSonic: PAL is the kind of consoles that are sold in Europe and Australia. Ironically, these consoles are not your friend, and will constantly beat you up with extra delays, higher pricing and 50hz issues.
Mario Party Fan 999, I highly recommend importing the consoles from NA if possible. The price of shipping won't be much compared to what you'll save on the console and games.
@42.Chibi_Link: Sad but true. It's one thing to limit the freedom people have when buying games, but to lie to them about it is just a kick in the balls. ACCC to the rescue...?
My American 3DS will connect to my Australian internet connection, right?
I like how Americans are fine with this, but PAL gamers are going bats**t. So we should. We save some big bucks by importing. and play games that will never be released here.
@Chibi Link: I'll be importing my 3DS from the US as well. I feel real sorry for Nintendo of Australia though. They did quite well considering how small the portion of the market Australia represents is. Good bye, old friend. Contact the ACCC about the 3DS when more details are revealed too. I might do so myself. Seems like just another reason to pirate games.
Worse case scenario: I might turn into a Sony fanboy.
Playing this on PS3 Mega Drive collection. This game took me by surprise at how good it was. An underrated classic. It's hard, but that's what makes a retro game a retro game!
@154.fishman100: Yeah, the game's first hour is pretty annoying, but once you get past it you'll find the most unique experience in the Zelda franchise.
You can't balme Nintendo for not trying something different. That's what they did with Wind Waker and heaps of people and moaned about that game. Now they make a game similar to Ocarina and people say it's too similar.
I really liked this game. It was more than worth my time and money.
I just played this for the first time tonight on the Mega Drive Ultimate Collection and I can't beleive I never cared for this series before. Too much fun.

Re: Super Dodge Ball's Attack Line Drawn for WiiWare this May
Since the NES version still hasn't hit Europe's Virtual Console, this is something to look forward to.

@142.JamesNewton: Challenging games last longer, and some would say are thus worth your money more.
Re: Australia Misses Out on Steel Diver and Pilotwings at 3DS Launch
@20.Chibi_Link: Amazon doesn't ship video games to international adresses, so you better have a plan worked out, becuase I know I don't.
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - March 2011
Never played a FF game before, and I hope to make 6 my first.
Re: Review: My Little Baby (WiiWare)
There are a hundred better things to spend 600 points on than this.
Re: Kirby, Your New Game Deserves Better Than This
Nintendo, this is what happens when you take 4 months to release a game.
Re: Review: Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation (DS)
This one's been getting some good-but-not-great reveiws from other sites. I think I may go for Dragon Quest IV instead.
Re: WayForward Drawing Up Spongebob Game for uDraw and 3DS
Unless it's a modern day game based off an 80s franchise. We've been getting some cool 80s stuff, what with Ghostbusters and Back To The Future.
Re: Australia Misses Out on Steel Diver and Pilotwings at 3DS Launch
Since I'm an import gamer now, this doesn't affect me! Horray!

Re: Push Your Parking Skills to the Limit in Valet Parking 1989
Please tell it will have an all-80s soundtrack.
But I think I'll hold out for the sequel; Valet Parking 2034.
Re: Super Mario All-Stars 25th Anniversary Edition Gets an Extra Life
As unlikely as it is, if the PAL re-print is in 60hz, I'll buy 10.
Re: Features: Games That Should Already Be on Virtual Console
Admit it guys, Virtual Console is pratically dead. The only thing to look forward to really is FFVI.
Re: Activision Disbands Guitar Hero Business, No Entry in 2011
*Turns off computer to play Rock Band 3 *
Re: Review: Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (Virtual Console / TurboGrafx-16)
Okay guys, it's either this or Symphony of the Night. Which one should I choose?

Funny how the release date is on Valenslime’s Day.
Re: Nintendo: Inazuma Eleven Not Officially Launched in the UK
@15.ecco6t9: Yes, welcome to 1998.
And game carts don't rot.
Re: Proof that Inazuma Eleven Really Is Out in the UK
Oh dear, this game is going to flop and it's not even it's fault.
Re: Miyamoto Can't Wait to Show Off Super Mario Bros. 3DS

Re: Observe the Flow of Battle in Pokemon Black & White Video
@7.danschemen: "Crystal Monsters"? What on earth are you talking about?
Re: Metal Gear Solid
Considering they only gave the PS1 version a 9.8 or something....

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword Getting "Finishing Touches"
Of course Europe won't be seeing it until mid-2012.
Now....when's Kirby's Epic Yarn comming out here again?
Re: Will We See a Zelda 25th Anniversary Collection this Year?
Horray! 50hz games for all!

This game is just too cool for me.
Re: Review: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 (WiiWare)
Might get this on PSN. Perhaps the future episode will have Tails? He was pretty cool before they gave him a voice.
Re: Review: Columns III: Revenge of Columns (Virtual Console / Sega Mega Drive)
That's one epic boxart.
Re: Review: Mario Sports Mix (Wii)
No, Mario Kart created a whole genre of kart racing games, it isn't a sports game. Personally, I've never considered car racing a sport anyway.
Re: PAL Virtual Console to have games in 50Hz only!
Agreed. Legal legal issues my ass. If you can get old NTSC imports like Super Mario RPG or Final Fantasy, there's no reason you can't give us "import" versions of the all the other titles.

Re: Review: Mario Sports Mix (Wii)
I was a big fan of the Mario Sports games on GameCube when I was younger, so this is definatly on my list.
SPOILER ALERT: You can play as the Slime from Dragon Quest. I'm so buying this game right now.
Re: Review: The Seller (DSiWare)
Too bad you can't sell DSiWare games.
Re: First Impressions: 3DS Virtual Console
Wouldn't it just make sense to get a GBA and the original cartridges?

Re: Review: Ghosts 'n Goblins (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)
Never tried this infamous game, or any other game in the series before, so maybe I'll jump into this arcade version just for the heck of it.
Re: Fatal Labyrinth
I watched my brother play it and he got stuck in a room he couldn't get out of.
