I would get it. I actually never finished it on Wii, just got lost in the shuffle. I'd love Wind Waker HD as well. Even though it came out on the WiiU, I never bought a WiiU.
These figures are impressive, but more than what I'd be willing to spend. The Midna true-form reveal was a standout moment in Twilight Princess though.
Played the demo on Xbox. It ran terribly and it seemed like they did nothing to the interface to accommodate console. Would need to see improvements in both aspect to consider the Switch Version.
At this point in time the WiiU has the upper hand in terms of lineup. But the big hitters for the new consoles are just around the corner., ie Titanfall, Destiny etc.
Nintendo need a big Christmas. Then it'll be game on!
There's some confused arguments here re the morality of GTA.
Does Breaking Bad promote cooking meth, drug dealing etc? No those are just a context for themes they are exploring. Turn on the nightly news you'll see things that make you uncomfortable.
GTA explores the criminal underworld and explores the darkness of it all. Of course its sleazy and immoral but I don't think that makes it less valid a setting to explore. Like I said watch the news. The world has a dark underbelly.
The complaints about sexism aren't much more than feminist soap boxing. Its either present in context of the story or as satire. Satire is something that GTA does quite well, as each game makes fun of prevailing aspects of culture.
I actually enjoy GTA as a sum of its parts. The depth of the world, the sand box and also the story, and the satire.
Lets be honest. This is Nintendo's fault for leaving it to 3rd parties to push console sales. Problem is they all got cold feet. Nintendo needed a big title to follow launch and Pikmin is to little to late.
The tablet controller remains under utilised and I don't think Nintendo even know what to do with it.
Perhaps a price drop and a good bundle could help it along.
@Melkaticox was that sarcasm? Watch Dogs will sell no problem.
Install base has been the WiiU's problem. They were only able to sell ZombieU to a limited audience. Red Steel 2 happened because the Wii had a huge install base.
When even Ubi are getting cold feet on the WiiU its not good news.
The X360 has also enjoyed a steady flow of decent games, compared to the Wii. Particularly in the last few years. The Wii also reached saturation a couple of years back and has largely lost its place in public conciousness.
I think Nintendo has done enough to give themselves a chance this christmas. A price cut wouldn't go astray.
That said I still think they'll fall in 3rd behind Sony and MS. Sony have a good price point and solid system, MS has the popularity of the Xbox brand, plus even at 500 the kinect has appeal for families.
Nintendo's been really slow out of the gate with the WiiU, so I think its fair to question whether they have a vision for the gamepad. I've heard game journalists mention titles at E3 were mostly played with Wiimotes.
I hardly think Nintendo has demonstrated the WiiU gamepad is essential.
There are some games coming that I would like to play on WiiU, but I don't yet feel compelled to buy one.
I highly doubt Microsoft is going to brick the Xbox One or turn people discs into coasters in a time-frame that is going to bother most people. I think Microsoft is orientating themselves to a games as a service model. I don't think their stupid either.
Frankly as long as I can play and enjoy good games I'm not going to get all sentimental about whether or not the my disc will still work in ten years.
The reaction to the Xbox One reveal has been incredibly over the top. It was a 1 hour reveal of the feature set of the console weeks out from E3. Proclaiming it a fail already is incredibly short sighted.
The WiiU still needs to prove itself and its going up against Sony and Microsoft this Christmas.
I feel like Nintendo needs to gain momentum in the window before the PS4 and Xbox 720 are out. Either that or get cranking on the first party titles which has always been their way of standing out.
@Bankai - The trouble is that Anita's discussion of gender in games is entirely mired in academic feminism and not reality. It's a propaganda piece masquerading as a legitimate discourse. It's really quite ridiculous to portray rescuing a princess (mario) or rescuing your girlfriend (Double Dragon) as some how anti-women or objectification. What a twisted way to see things. Not to mention the denial of the scientific fact of sexual dimorphism. I don't know how anyone can take her seriously after that.
Also you know Japanese games particularly JRPG's have had female characters fighting along side men for years.
I don't understand what Ubisoft stands to gain not releasing the WiiU version now, besides perhaps marketing. Given many WiiU owners are already anticipating its release it makes no sense to push it back to September.
The difference between the WiiU and the next Sony and Microsoft consoles will be similar to the difference between current PC games and the current consoles. The graphics on PC look amazing, but the consoles versions still look good.
It seems likely that the WiiU will have to carve out its own market separate from Sony and MS once their consoles are established. Which really comes down to Nintendo driving units sales and then getting developers on board for WiiU exclusives.
@ Nanoline 18,000 is not a huge sum of money given the scope of the project, especially when we are talking putting together a physical version, licensing plus the amount of work which has gone into it.
Not everything can be free.
I'm personally quite looking forward to it because I think its a great collectors item and I really liked the story of Twilight Princess so looking forward to the music.
I really enjoyed what I played of EOII (which I really should go back and finish). There was something quite satisfying about slowly mapping the floor of a dungeon and trying to stay alive.
It's interesting. I don't know if the Dad's driving this or if the daughter did actually want to be able to play as a girl. I'm sure if she just gave Link a girls name that would have been enough.
From my point of view though rescuing the princess is a pretty typical theme that I don't feel we should need to retroactively dismantle on the basis of current thoughts on gender. I mean many of these characters and stories are designed by men and are a natural expression of the people that created them.
I do wonder what a zelda style game created from a female perspective with a female hero would be like. I imagine it would differ somewhat from the typical zelda story and not just be a simple gender switch of characters.

Re: Review: The Good Life - Cats, Dogs, And The Best Version Of Britain We've Seen Since Galar
Not sure charm and quirkiness is enough to get past the PS2 era graphics and dated gameplay.
Re: Hands On: From Xbox Series X To Nintendo Switch, The Falconeer: Warrior Edition Soars
I played this on game pass and it wasn't for me.
It was just a bit boring flying between the 'Open World' locations

Re: Review: What Remains of Edith Finch - One Of The Most Unforgettable Games On Switch
I highly recommend playing this, its quite well done.
It's essentially an interative story, so it doesn't have a traditional gameplay loop, but all the same a worthwhile experience.

Have not played a cricket game in a while. This looks like a good option to jump back in.

Re: N64 Classics Turok And Turok 2 Are Headed To Nintendo Switch
Wasn't that interested in these on Xbox as they don't look to have aged well. Tempted for the Switch version of Turok 2 when its on sale.
Re: Three, Yes Three Resident Evil Games Are Headed To Nintendo Switch In 2019
Having bought these game twice already I may give them a miss.
I do love RE4 and REmake though. Maybe would buy on sale to have portable versions.
I'm more interested in RE2 Remake.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Confirms Minor Changes to A Link Between Worlds to Accommodate 2DS

Re: Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl Demo Arrives on 16th September
I love mapping the dungeons! Four has just come out in Australia, so I'm pretty tempted by that. A remake of the first is quite appealing though.

Re: Fan Campaign Starts for Princess Zelda to be Given a "Stronger" - Perhaps Playable - Role
Zelda has been a strong character for a while. She acts behind the scenes in a way that makes sense for her character, being the princess and all.
I think it may be interesting to play out some of Zelda's exploits, but it wouldn't add to the game or Zelda as a character if it wasn't done well.
