Re: Nintendo Switch Dips to €299 on Amazon France

@rjejr European prices include taxes. American prices don't and every state has its own taxes, leading to different prices. So in the end it's actually pretty similar.

Furthermore, there's all kinds of differences between European countries when it comes to the costs of doing business. If it's way cheaper for Nintendo to distribute and sell a product in Italy than in Denmark, that's probably something you'll see reflected in their respective prices.

Re: Swedish Retailer Says Its Nintendo Switch Pre-Orders Are Higher Than They Were for PS4

Not all that surprising though; there's the ever present core of avid Nintendo fans and there's some great momentum thanks to Pokémon Go and the NES Classic.

The Switch selling out in the first few months will be good, but not an indication of long term succes per se. I personally can't wait for the Switch (pre-ordered and all), but am still somewhat worried about its mainstream success. We'll see...

Re: Super Bomberman R's Retail Price Has Finally Been Confirmed

@Louie06 People aren't complaining about 'games being 60 quid/euro/whatever'. Have you seen anyone complaing about Breath of the Wild's price? Or more recently Color Splash's price, or Super Mario Maker, or Splatoon?

People are complaining about a simple revival of a 35 year old game being sold for the same price as every other retail game. These kinds of games are pretty much never this much on consoles. Just head over to the PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace or Nintendo eShop.

Better yet, this exact game would've launched for 20 or 30 if it was for the Wii U. Konami is only asking this price because it's the launch of a new console and people are going to be desperate about legitimizing their hardware purchase, so they'll buy any software to do so.

Remember Funky Barn? Or Tank! Tank! Tank!? Or Angry Birds Star Wars for the PS4? Publishers always do this, because they get away with it.

But to suggest people on this website are complaining about general pricing is just in no way a reflection of what's actually going on.

Re: Here's How Dragon Quest Heroes II On Switch Shapes Up Against The PS4 Version

I for one am not exactly surprised or upset about this. I'll mainly be using the Switch as a handheld and this, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and more look drop dead gorgeous for portable titles.

As for people who'll mainly be using it as a console, well, I have to say that the graphical difference looks to be more negligible than with the Wii/PS3/360 and Wii U/PS4/XBO. Obviously we're going to have the Scorpion later this year, but still, 90% of us are buying the Switch for Nintendo games and we know those are going to look amazing on the device.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Is A 13.4GB Download On Nintendo Switch

That's tiny for such a huge and ambitious game, but don't forget that Nintendo truly is the master at compressing file size. Just look at titles like Super Paper Mario, Mario Kart 8, etc. Honestly, nobody in the industry comes even close.

So when everybody's hyped about 'such a big title taking up so little space', that's 100% on Nintendo. Just wait until we hear the file size of even FPS titles by studio's like EA and Ubisoft. They're going to be well into the 20, 30GB range, which is going to cause a headache for Switch owners who want to go digital...

Re: Nintendo Switch Memory Can Be Expanded Up To 2TB

I'll just start out with a 128GB MicroSD Card I already own, move on to a 256GB once the price has gone down. With my PS4 and Xbox One I pretty much only buy digital (easier and there's a huge amount of sales), but seeing how Nintendo hardly ever has any interesting sales and due to limited storage on the Switch, I'll be going physical for this one. I'm guessing 128GB should suffice for quite some time if I only use it for eShop games and Virtual Console.
