I wish they would also allow to remap memory the way the Action Replay and other devices let you back in the day.
I think I would play these games a lot more if you could modify some things like number of lives, the way difficulty progresses and so on
@whitespy12 same here. This port (which I never heard of back in the day, otherwise I would have bought it) is a technical miracle. I have no idea (as a software dev myself) how is even remotely possible on the hardware. They nailed the gameplay, too, much better than the atari 800 version. And I agree, in a way this is even more fun than the original. the bigger pixels and some things left out make this look clean AF
I know nobody likes the game but I'm addicted to Galaxian. It's so hypnotic. I just wish you could start with a higher difficulty. It's annoying to always have to play through the first levels
I would guess the switch one will remain as their onboarding/ handheld system. Easy to make a cheaper or smaller version. So nintendo will be back in the 2 system strategy, but now there is compatibility, as opposed to the gameboy/DS eras
@Lizuka while you are right of course, If you play with a really small kid this 'multiplayer' mode works great. I played it a lot with my daughter when she was little. Real multiplayer in other games was way to scary to her, but collecting stuff while I was doing the difficult things was just right
I think there might be something going on which nobody mentioned until now I think. The pricepoint of the hardware, while ok for the specs is a little bit higher than what we used to see from nintendo in the past. Similar to what they once tried with the 3ds. I think if it does not work out as they want they will keep the switch 1 around for a long time, essentially returning to a two-systems approach which they gave up with the switch. The thing is, there is an audience who does not care about the extra power but does not want to spend more than around 200 bucks for a gaming system. Nintendo has always been very successful in reaching this audience..I imagine they are not planning on giving this up
For the hardcore gamers this is good news actually..it means we are getting the switch pro. A powerful thing from Nintendo for the serious gamers, who don't mind spending somewhat more for their hobby
I gotta say, an fps upgrade for the first gungeon game would be a massive incentive for me to buy the switch 2. would be great reason to come back to this gem
I think from Nintendo’s perspective they face the problem that NSO is relatively new and they don’t have an audience as online-centered as the other consoles. So they fear NSO is not attractive enough. Making old games exclusive for it is one way to add value. However, they are leaving money on the table because there are customers who don’t join nso but will buy the games. I think it’s just a question of time. The moment NSO stands solid VC will be back
I think what is so annoying about being called a genius is that it comes typically with the perception that this already is the reason for the success. But you have to be a genius AND work like crazy to succeed like he did
I’m so happy that the ‘mobile gaming’ trend turned out to not dominate. Console/PC gaming is seen as the ‘real’ gaming these days, and the switch and its games had no small part in this
I’m 53 and my biggest regret is missing the NES. Somehow it wasn’t a thing in germany where I lived at the time. So I went from the Atari 2600 to the gameboy and to the SNES. When I played the original Zelda I already had played a link to the past..It’s not the same then
I have not used my switch OLED yet but prefer to use my old model because like some others I’m still waiting for the new satisfye grip. I just can’t play without that thing anymore
