Animal Crossing Villager Vacation Homes - How To Invite Villagers To Happy Home Paradise

Happy Home Paradise is the first and only major paid expansion to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and it is very much a fresh take and expansion upon the rather charming Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer that we saw on 3DS.

The campaign introduces new abilities gradually, but one that you can learn early on is to invite your favourite home islanders / villagers to the new location, and then you can create a special vacation home for them as part of the DLC's progress.

Here's the step-by-step on how to give your favourite buddy their dream vacation home. As if they didn't already live on an idyllic tropical island.

What's The Main Goal Of Happy Home Paradise?

The main campaign in Happy Home Paradise focuses on a gradual unlocking / access to new abilities as you design 'vacation' homes for a variety of characters.

This guide shows how you can take favourite characters from your home island and make them a vacation home.

How to Invite Your Villager to the Happy Home Paradise Area

Once you have purchased the DLC, make a start to your campaign. You'll start your work, complete an initial tutorial house and be shown the ropes.

When you finish the first quest you'll get your first payment in Poki, the mode-specific currency.

Buy Some Souvenir Chocolate

To the left of the main desk in the office there are special items to buy. At the bottom left you'll see some fancy souvenir chocolates, which you can buy one at a time or sets of three. Once you've done your first paid job, you have enough for tasty treats.

When you buy them they'll go into your inventory and you'll be ready to go.

Invite A Villager To Happy Home Paradise

When you're in the mood for another round of Happy Home Paradise and want to make a home for a favourite islander, track them down and chat to them. Offer them a gift and select the souvenir chocolate — they'll be happy to have it!

Your islander will say how interested they are in visiting your place of work, and will offer to go there with you right away. Say 'yes', and you get treated to the cute scene of your buddy joining you at the airport and heading onto a plane with you!

When you land they'll head off to explore and wander around the beach, so you're ready for the next step.

Get to Work and Pick Your Villager as a Client

Head into the office and tell Lottie you're ready to work. In our case this was early in the DLC content, so we were told to head out to the beach and find a client.

When we stepped outside our buddy of choice, Paolo, was chilling on the beach. We simply followed the step of talking to him, signing him up as a client. You then go through the standard process — there's a meeting about the type of room, you choose a destination island, and off you go!

Get Creative and Make a Perfect Vacation Home

What follows is the standard format for the DLC. You visit the site and design the home, interior and exterior, to their requirements.

In our case the snack-loving Paolo wanted a pro-style Kitchen, so we set it up with the 'recommended' furniture, including a dining area. Yes, you can probably make something a bit more stylish!

That's It, Your Buddy is Now a Regular in Happy Home Paradise

Once you finish the job you head back to the office, get paid and that's it, your islander has their dream vacation home! You don't need to worry about finding them for the flight home, either, they seem to make their own way back.
