Though many of us are familiar with the lovable Gulliver and his international souvenirs and collectibles, this seagull sailor apparently has an alter-ego — and his name is Pirate Gullivarrr, mateys.
However, even fancy new pirate lingo and swashbuckling attire can't keep Gulliver from falling into the sea and losing his communicator — on the regular. We'd really love to know what brand of NookPhone he's using. It seems oddly indestructible...
If you're looking to meet this seafaring fellow, check out our complete guide below for tips on where, when and how to help him out - and a list of the treasures he may reward you with in return.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Pirate Gulliver Guide
Who is Pirate Gulliver?
Alas, none of us are quite sure whether Pirate Gullivarrr is a dastardly doppelganger, an alter ego, or a figment of Gulliver's (or our) imagination. However, he's still just as lost without his trusty crew - and his communicator is the only way of contacting them.
Instead of finding missing communicator parts on the beach, this time you'll be tasked with diving for the communicator itself - a refreshing change of pace (but he really needs to just learn to hold onto that thing).
Where and when does Pirate Gulliver appear?
While we have yet to determine more specific spawn rates and times for Pirate Gullivarrr, we do know that Gulliver will only appear on weekdays, according to the official guidebook. Therefore, one can assume that, every 1-2 weeks, players will have a chance to either see Gulliver or Pirate Gullivarrr on their beaches within the normal rotation.
Additionally, players must have acquired a wet suit in order for Pirate Gullivarrr to appear.
If you're desperate to find him, one can always try time travel... however, as we've said before, this isn't something we necessarily recommend or condone. It's also an inexact science to find a day when a specific special character appears.
Where is Pirate Gulliver's communicator?
Pirate Gullivarrr will, as always, tell a tale of being thrown into the sea and washing up on your island's shores with no way to contact his crew. He will then request your help in finding his lost communicator - which you must swim and dive to find for him in the ocean.
It should be noted that, just as with Gulliver's communicator parts, Pirate Gullivarrr's requests can also provide players with rusted communicator parts. In fact, if the player holds onto the communicator and does not return it to Pirate Gullivarrr, it will turn into five rusted parts the next day - just as communicator parts from the beach would with Gulliver's tasks.
List of Pirate Gulliver rewards
If you're a friendly landlubber, you'll return the waterlogged communicator to Pirate Gullivarrr, and he'll be able to call his crew for rescue. Then, just as with Gulliver, players will obtain a reward attached to a thank-you letter in the mail the next day. Below is a complete list of all the pirate's booty players can acquire:
