Lumines Remastered (Switch eShop)
£4.04 (-70%)
Lumines Remastered is a luminary of the puzzle genre and feels perfectly at home on the Switch. Intense and immersive puzzle action, psychedelic visuals, a killer soundtrack, and a bevvy of content and modes make for a premier puzzle experience that should not be missed.
Lumines is an addictive experience that is positively a delight to play, and we would highly recommend it to both veterans and newcomers to the puzzle genre. There’s something here for everyone, and considering the relatively low price tag, Lumines Remastered is very much required playing for any Switch owner.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch)
£33.29 (-33%)
*Sale ends 6th January
Mario Kart 8 delivered a huge amount of racing goodness right out of the box on Wii U and was only a proper Battle Mode away from being top of the class. The big twist this time around was the introduction of 'anti-gravity' sections which allow tracks to bend and twist on themselves in surprising ways, making it possible to collide with other racers and gain a small speed boost, adding a welcome layer of tactical play.
And then Mario Kart 8 Deluxe repackaged the original on Switch and added in that excellent (and sorely missed) Battle Mode for good measure, making it the pinnacle of the entire series; a fast, attractive, sublimely playable romp which has to rank as one of the best racing games of all time; the definitive Mario Kart experience, content-rich and a delightful feast of comedic, cartoonish karting action.
Switch's best-selling game continually raises a smile and, occasionally, induces that trademark Mario Kart rage as shells strike and positions are lost. It's addictive, unifying, unfiltered fun that draws in anyone daring enough to take up the wheel.
And the addition of 48 more courses with the awkwardly named Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass DLC? Well, that's just more icing on an already-grand cake, isn't it? Essential.

Mark of the Ninja: Remastered (Switch eShop)
£4.49 (-75%)
Mark of the Ninja: Remastered is an utterly stellar stealth game and it’s lost none of the magic that made the original such a critical darling. Strong art direction, an engaging story, well-paced open gameplay, and a slew of extra content all combine to make for a near-flawless experience that you certainly won’t want to miss out on.
We’d give this game a high recommendation to all Switch owners; it’s the best stealth game money can buy in the Switch library, and one of the best ones in any console library.
Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics (Switch)
£31.99 (-20%)
With Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, there's a decade of gaming evolution here, including what is arguably the pinnacle of Capcom's fighting game craft. Perfectly preserved and presented, everything is beautifully formed and wonderful to play.
Assembled with real clarity, Capcom has thoroughly delivered the goods, from its ton of bonus features to its rollback netcode, with years' worth of combative nuance to explore, learn, and exact in the online arena. Oh, and don't just get it for Marvel vs. Capcom 2; everything is excellent here, but The Punisher, in particular, is awesome.
Metro 2033 Redux (Switch eShop)
£3.99 (-75%)
Metro 2033 Redux is a top-class first-person shooter/survival horror game, a breathless experience that's been almost flawlessly ported to Switch by 4A Games. Artyom's desperate, haunting voyage through the irradiated remains of Moscow is every bit as engaging today as it was when it first released back in 2010.
This Redux version benefits massively from overhauled AI, gameplay mechanics and visuals. In terms of first-person shooters or survival horror games on Nintendo's console, this is one of the very best.
Mega Man 11 (Switch)
£8.24 (-67%)
Mega Man 11 was an excellent resurgence for the character, imbuing the tried-and-true classic gameplay with modern touches and new ideas that expand on existing concepts in interesting ways. The underlying action platforming gameplay is just as tight and challenging as you remember, and when combined with the new visuals and extra options for replayability, you’ve got a game that’s every bit as good as those that came before, while surpassing them in some ways. Mega Man 11 is a modern classic, a fitting refresh for a beloved series.
Mega Man Legacy Collection (Switch eShop)
£3.95 (-67%)
Digital Eclipse did a great job with all the details in Mega Man Legacy Collection, presenting the original games in their best possible light, while tossing in a handful of extra features and challenges on top to sweeten the deal. The rewind feature is a welcome inclusion that helps to mitigate the difficulty of some of the games, and the overall quality of the series is difficult to dispute.
All the included extra features coupled with the ability to play these games both at home and on the go make it a no-brainer.
The Mega Man X Legacy Collection also has its own deal right now, costing just £6.39 (-60%), alongside Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection's £8.24 (-67%) price point
Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight (Switch eShop)
£4.40 (-65%)
The only minor criticism comes from the soundtrack which, while not bad, isn’t memorable and doesn’t always match the fantastic art. Overall, however, Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight is a stunningly well-presented platformer with some of the most intuitive controls in the genre. A superb game and a credit to the indie scene.
Moero Crystal H (Switch eShop)
£17.49 (-50%)
Moero Crystal H is a saucy dungeon crawler that parents should note is most definitely not one for the kids! It is, however, an outstanding dungeon crawler that combines the light-hearted, sexy, character-centric comedy of harem anime with deep combat and progression mechanics, plus a healthy dose of dating sim for good measure.
Unlike other games in the genre, it respects the player’s time with quality-of-life features. It’s beautifully presented, too, with delightful animated Live2D characters, gorgeous (if infrequent) event images and incredibly catchy music. Most importantly, though, it plays well – and provides enough content in both its main story and endgame to keep even the most avid RPG fan busy for hundreds of hours.
Monster Hunter Rise (Switch)
£8.74 (-75%)
New mechanics, monsters, and a gorgeous setting meant that Monster Hunter Rise set a new standard for the franchise.
The Wirebug, Switch Skills, Palamute, and carefully thought-out monsters shook things up enough to make the game feel fresh for hunters who had previously spent thousands of hours with the series, and while the package can be slightly intimidating for newcomers, it's arguably the ideal place to get started if you're serious about getting into monster hunting. And with a peerless four-player multiplayer experience, the Rampage quests are a blast.
Monster Hunter Rise is one of the strongest entries into the series, then, and another stone-cold classic for Switch. And if the base game isn't enough, hunt down the must-have Sunbreak DLC, as well — it's also included in this sale for £8.99.
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom (Switch)
£7.99 (-84%)
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is an excellent action-RPG that's arrived on Switch in a fantastic, feature-packed port. Evan and Roland's antics across this game's sprawling world are stuffed full of great characters, exciting combat and adventuring, and a kingdom-building mechanic that's a delight to get to grips with.
It looks and sounds every bit as good as its predecessor and, although the story might be a little more hit-and-miss here, we were completely hooked into this one from beginning to end. This is a sumptuously crafted adventure you won't regret diving into.
No More Heroes (Switch eShop)
£4.49 (-75%)
No More Heroes is something very rare – a game that’s actually better now than it was on its original bow, showing us just how little the gaming landscape has actually moved forward. It is certainly, avowedly not for everyone – and you get the impression that’s just how director Suda51 likes it.
Artier than most art games, more thoughtful than most think pieces, and cruder than crude oil, No More Heroes uses repetition to decisive, impressive effect. Glorious, gore-ious, gorgeous and gregarious, this madcap anime nightmare deserves your attention. If you missed it on Wii, buy it immediately. If you didn’t, you most likely already have.
No More Heroes II is also worth your time if you love this one — and you can grab it for the same low price of £4.49 (-75%).
Nobody Saves The World (Switch eShop)
£7.87 (-65%)
Nobody Saves the World is a thrillingly well-paced and enjoyable action adventure that Switch owners won’t want to miss. An addictive quest system, surprisingly deep class system, attractive art style, and punchy combat all come together to make for a varied and engaging experience that oozes quality at every turn
If you’re a fan of RPGs with a lot of customization, old-school Zelda games, or classic arcade beat ‘em ups, Nobody Saves the World is absolutely a title you need to add to your library.
OneShot: World Machine Edition (Switch eShop)
£8.76 (-35%)
A short, compelling point-and-click adventure game originally developed in 2014, OneShot: World Machine Edition has an endearing, sombre story in which developer Future Cat makes you – the player – a character. The quest of Nico, a cat-like child, is framed as a game installed on a PC that functions as both a menu and narrative device and Niko will frequently break the fourth wall to address you by your Nintendo Switch profile name as you guide her through a dying world.
Unlike the adventure games of two or three decades ago, none of the puzzles stumped us, yet the dopamine rush hit us all the same when things slid into place. Before we knew it, the credits rolled, and we sat back, pensive from its bittersweet ending. A Very Good Game™.
OPUS: Echo of Starsong - Full Bloom Edition (Switch eShop)
£14.61 (-35%)
OPUS: Echo of Starsong is a lovely game, an emotional adventure that represents the apex of the series to date and easily one of the best story-driven games on Switch. It's also excellent value for money, offering around ten hours of game for its low price, more if you really take your time and soak the whole thing up the way you really should do.
The characters are complex, interesting, and likeable, and the story told with them is a complete, satisfying tale. Oh, and when the opening suggests playing with headphones? That's a hard agree from us, both to help with the music-based puzzles and simply to enjoy the excellent score.
Overboard! (Switch eShop)
£6.83 (-40%)
Where 80 Days was about the broad implications of travelling the entire globe, Overboard! focuses instead on the minutiae of a single day, and the intricacies of interaction. It's a glorious study in how to create a delicate Rube Goldberg machine of dialogue and dependencies, as a cast of mostly terrible people waltz around each other with ulterior motives and pre-existing feelings about everything, including our Veronica and dear, departed Malcolm. It's excellent: play it.
Patrick's Parabox (Switch eShop)
£12.59 (-30%)
Patrick's Parabox is the rare game that's both highly challenging and highly approachable in equal measure without once dropping a beat. This is a must-play for fans of the genre — especially more logic-driven puzzlers like Baba Is You. Even if you're not the most hardened puzzle veteran, Patrick's Parabox does a great job of teaching you to solve even its most difficult puzzles thanks to a clever level structure and approachable progression system.
Persona 4 Golden (Switch eShop)
£10.79 (-40%)
Persona 4 Golden remains a thoroughly enjoyable and engrossing RPG that, for the most part, has stood the test of time.
Although its visuals might be a bit dated, the gameplay and story presented here do more than enough to justify the purchase, while all the tweaks and additions that came with this ‘Golden’ edition round out most of the rougher edges from the initial PS2 release.
If you're looking to give the Persona series a shot, Persona 5 Royal is a good place to start, but P4G is an excellent entry in the series and one that we would recommend you pick up when you can.
Pizza Tower (Switch eShop)
£13.49 (-25%)
Pizza Tower is the rare sort of game that improves on its inspiration in nearly every way, building upon many of Nintendo’s Wario Land ideas with impressive results. This is an incredibly satisfying, creative, and addictive platformer that’ll keep you busy for a long time if you want to 100% it.
Anyone who loved the old Wario Land games will adore this, as will anyone who’s looking for something new with a high skill ceiling and lots of technical depth. Pizza Tower has definitely got it where it counts - platformers don’t get much better than this.
Portal: Companion Collection (Switch eShop)
£3.37 (-75%)
It's hard to overstate our satisfaction with Portal: Companion Collection. Portal and Portal 2 felt incredibly fresh when they first released, and the years have not diminished their immense impact. To have two of the most unique and mind-bending puzzle games on a Nintendo console, and on-the-go if you choose, is a pure joy.
If it weren't for the frequent load screens punctuating the experience, we'd have absolutely nothing to complain about here. The motion controls work like a dream, the games run at a near-rock-solid 60fps, you've got local co-op play available at the drop of a hat, and the writing remains as funny now as it did all those years ago.
If you haven't played the Portal games before, this should be a no-brainer. If you have... well, just play them again.
PowerSlave Exhumed (Switch eShop)
£6.35 (-60%)
Honestly, it was tempting to give Powerslave Exhumed a 10 just for being available again, but no. That would, of course, be naughty. It is available, though, in even more than all its glory — a brilliant, beautiful reworking that captures the very essence of what made it so awesome back in the day while giving the best of both the Saturn and PlayStation's distinct versions.
For such a prototypical take on Metroid Prime, it's alarming and impressive just how much confidence Powerslave Exhumed shows in its design, making it the best kind of retro game — one that's even better today with full knowledge of how ahead of its time it really was. An easy recommendation to FPS fans of any vintage, Powerslave Exhumed will keep you playing and playing, searching for those last niggling secrets.

Has Pizza Tower been on sale on the American eShop before?
If not, why is it that Europe and Japan (as of typing this comment) have discounts there but not in America?
Awww snap, this means the NA one is about to drop. Let me get my pennies ready for some heavy sales.
Nice, will check tomorrow when I have time if there are any games among these I'm interested in that aren't already in my Deku Deals wishlist or of course my possession!
A Short Hike is fantastic
Gonna give BR2 a chance too though I haven't finished the 1st one yet
if you call yourself a gamer and don't buy A SHORT HIKE, you are NOT a gamer. This game will exceed every expectation you have! it's brilliant and super fun!!!! BUY IT TODAY!!!!!!!
That is a mighty fine sale, finally picked up night in the woods!
A Short Hike, Chicory, Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, Snuffkin Moomin Melody. Not all featured here, but all on sale and are on my watch list! I think I will be buying 2 for myself on Christmas day as my gaming gift to me!
I also see the Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 1 and 2 are on sale. Sorely tempted just because I LOVED the GC version of the first game, but do I need it again 22 years on? Also, BGDA 2 did not score well on Nintendo Life. Hum. But think I will stick with the smaller indy ones this time.
A short hike is lovely.
Does Hellblade normally go on sale for you guys? In the US at least, it hasn't had a discount since 2019.
The excellent Bug Fables is also on sale for practically just 10€, so if you haven't played that yet please don't sleep on one of the best indie RPGs (and indie games in general) ever made. I grabbed both that and Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon, a pair of games I loved playing on the PS4 a few years ago and which seemed perfect for a replay on the Switch.
I recommend the game :
Crystal Project
For the RPG fans
In a heartbeat ! Really.
There is a demo in the e-shop for the undecided
https://www.nintendo.com/fr-fr/Jeux/Jeux-a-telecharger-sur-Nintendo-Switch/Crystal-Project-2500942.html
And link steam for the last updates :

Chicory looks absolutely delightful.
I had such an amazing time with games like Golf Story or Night in the Woods, I certainly recommend them. OneShot too but I think the experience hits better on PC.
@HammerGalladeBro I'd wait a few days, maybe a week. These seasonal deals tend to hit Europe first... that said, not everything in Europe goes on sale in NA.
@HammerGalladeBro NA sales usually drop within a week of major European sales.
Get Pizza Tower, my GOTY, you won’t regret it
I recommend Pizza Tower to anyone who loves a great fast paced platformer with parry and combo mechanics.
How come Mega Man Battle Network didn't make the list? It got a 9 in its review and is now 50% off.
FORGOTTEN LAND UNDER $60 ALARM
I can't afford to buy 54 games, are you mad!

@Deviant-Dork
Yeah, these "lists" post are a trainwreck of text and ads. Like 10 pages of endless scrolling. I usually just head straight to the comments.
80% off AI in Somnium is crazy!
If you have any love for story driven games, thrillers or detectives: GET THIS! You won't regret looking past that horrible title and boxart! 😂🤎
Get Danganronpa V3 (and the series) on Steam, not Switch.
V3 on Switch runs like butt.
Not a bad list at all and I expect a lot of time and effort was put into it so many thanks. Just want to say though which is a bit off topic but Thumper in VR is just fantastic.
@Deviant-Dork …It’s an article about games on sale on the European eShop. A storefront that doesn’t use USD.
They make completely separate articles for recommendations based on sales on the North American eShop - a storefront that does use USD. Funnily enough, those articles display prices in USD.
Strange that, isn’t it…?
@Markiemania95 I'm glad you agree with what I was saying!
@Deviant-Dork This is the list for the European sale, hence the use of GBP
The list for the US sale can be found here: https://www.nintendolife.com/guides/161-games-you-should-pick-up-in-nintendos-hits-for-the-holidays-eshop-sale-north-america

@Smug43
what makes that game so good? This is the first time hearing about it, and seeing comments about it made me curious.
@The-Chosen-one it's one of those hidden gems most people have never heard of because it's a indie game which never got much coverage or marketing. you will absolutely love this game, it's so much fun.
