@BenRK Uncharted 4 is the best one IMO. But it's the last game in the series, so you'll be missing out on a few story in here and there without playing the first one. But it's all about the set pieces anyway. But hey, you got it for free, so there's no harm in trying.

I think the general opinion is that Spider-Man on the PS4 is the best Spider-Man game. It's made by Insomniac, and in hindsight that was a brilliant decision because if there's one thing they're good at it's character movement, considering they also worked on Ratchet & Clank and Sunset Overdrive.

Ah, well, I'm no expert on the PS games, really, @BenRK .... I guess any of the more demanding ones would run better on there? But I've heard lots of good stuff about that Spider-Man, if that helps! Generally, timed exclusives come to XBox as well, though, which is more what I'm interested in

I still don't have any explanation for the massive gap between the legacy games media response to TLOU2 and the youtubers response.

Both Yong Yea and Angry Joe did reviews in the last few days and both of them seem to dislike it quite a bit.

So why all the 10/10s? What's going on here exactly?

They're(Joe and Lootbox boy) following the hate trend just like almost every youtube out there reviewing this game. It's easy clicks and easy views. If you want maximum view count put " Last of Us 2 sucks!"Or " Why I stopped playing The Last of Us 2" as the title. It's sad to be honest, can't trust professional reviewers or YouTubers for big games like this. When all this die down, you'll find an actual honest genuine review beneath all the trash.

The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

& some of the people posting such things do honestly feel that way, I'm sure ... Doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't enjoy it It's made me more interested than I would otherwise have been & I'm sure there's a few others like that around

@BenRK
Maybe you have Culture clash when playing some games.
You didn't click with Kingdom Hearts probably it was too Japanesque with Tetsuya Nomura design that almost the boy characters have their signature Cosplay looking.
Some Western peoples do not like Japanese things that probably it looks horendous by Western standard.

I choose PS4 over than PC because i can play the games without worrying about installation and incompatibility of the machine specs. I can play The Sims 4 easily on PS4, just insert the disc and play after being installed for the first time.
And also i don't play games like typical Sony gamers here so i don't even care with typical Western games that peoples played by most.
I'm a kiddie gamer, even i still looking quirky and cartoonish games on PS4.

@BruceCM Hey, that's cool. What are some Xbox Games you play that you like? I need opinions, and good chance they have a PS4 port as well.

BenRK

BenRK

@Anti-Matter I wasn't saying one thing was better then the other. I like playing games. I have a modest gaming PC because that's what I was big on back in the day, and a Switch because I grew up with handheld gaming. No skin off my back if you like the PS4 over the PC. If anything, I want to like the PS4, else I wouldn't have asked for opinions on what games to play.

I don't think Kingdom Hearts being japanese has anything to do with why I bounced off it. I've enjoyed many japanese culture games in the past as well as too many JRPGs. I'm willing to give it another shot.

Well, the main advantage of XB1 is being able to play most 360 & quite a few original XB games, as well, @BenRK .... Mass Effect Trilogy? I hear the PC versions have some issues with not managing controllers, which is weird, though
Otherwise, Witcher 3 but that's a few years old now? I'm like Odyssey but you didn't seem keen on AC games, whereas I'm new to them Looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077, which is releasing simultaneously on PC, XB1 & PS4, so there's that?

I never got on with the old ones, @Zuljaras .... So, Odyssey by miles

BenRK

@BruceCM I don't think the Mass Effect games were released on the PS4/Xbox One. Might you be mixing up the Xbox's backwards compatibility (thatshouldbeindustrystandard)? Or is there a release I'm unaware of?

BenRK

BruceCM

No, I'm playing them by BC, since I didn't before & they are on PC, too ... I'm expecting you'd be familiar with most of the multi-plats, though

BenRK

@BruceCM I'm not as familiar as you might think. I did a casual look through PS4 games on Gamestop and I don't recognize a lot of them. I recognize the popular stuff and the forced yearly releases and the garbage EA puts out, but what the heck is Days Gone or Control or Sekiro for example? Are they any good? Are they bad and that's why I've never heard of them?

That's why I ask for peoples opinions.

BenRK

BruceCM

Well, I only recently got Control & Sekiro in sales, so I haven't played them yet .... I've heard mostly good things about them both, though What sort of games do you tend to like?

SW-4357-9287-0699

BenRK

@BruceCM Honestly, most modern games I dislike. At least those coming out from big studios. They all tend to be the same game with the same progression mechanics with the same loot boxes and microtransactions. Obviously that's not true for ALL modern games, but those that don't do crap like that don't tend to get a big marketing budget.

I like to describe the games I play as "boring dad games." Cities Skylines, Civ, Diablo 3, even OpenTTD. Been playing Xenoblade Chronicles and Animal Crossing. Obviously you can't recommend those games to me as I kind of sort of already own them already and don't want to buy Diablo 3 again. Ever. I will never buy Diablo 3 again and you can't make me!

BenRK

NotTelevision

@BenRK In that case you might like Frostpunk, XCom, or some of those Quantic Dreams games on PS4.

You can also sub to PS Now and play a lot of the exclusives on the platform that way. The Last of Us, Uncharted, Spider-Man, Bloodborne... and many more are all available to download with a subscription.

NotTelevision

BenRK

@NotTelevision I'm hesitant on getting the subscription. Yeah, the "free*" game stuff looks nice, but nothing has caught my eye when I check it out. If I'm not going to use it, why pay for it?

BenRK

Anti-Matter

@BenRK
What game genre do you like ?
Knowing game genre is important to choose the right games for you.
I think you tend to choose Casual games with simple gameplay from your post on different thread.
Animal Crossing New Horizons is your choice currently, isn't it ?

Everlasting Dance Trax Boxing Eurobeat

BruceCM

Hmm, well, there's some Final Fantasy games on PS systems, if you haven't tried those yet, @BenRK ... Problem being I don't know which can be played on PS4 specifically! It's odd you say about 'progression mechanics & loot boxes', since I manage to avoid those .... XCom could be good for you, too but I dunno if there's any PS games like Animal Crossing, in enough ways, since I'm not really into those
