Topic: Guilty Gear -Strive-

I was on vacation last week, so I'm late in posting my enthusiasm. I had been asking for this port...for years.

FINALLY!

Making its way to Switch in January, arguably the best entry in the GG series. Very exciting for yours truly.

Guilty Gear Strive is nearly the only modern fighting game that interests me, but between my doubts that this will run great on a Switch and the fact that Capcom has two upcoming collections with their older fighting games that actually interest me on them, this might be a tough sell for me.

I’m very excited as well. I had been playing on xbox due to gamepass but would much rather buy on switch.

So I got to play the switch port of strive at a con today with a friend (I'm 99% positive it was the switch version, unless they connected switch controllers to a PC and misled everyone lol), and just to let you all know it felt very smooth. The game looks and feels amazing, I can't wait.

Easily my hypest upcoming release right now, I'm really excited

I'm surprised that there aren't any reviews here or in other big sites yet. I haven't played online but offline mode has been fantastic.

Been a long time coming, but my physical copy of Guilty Gear Strive arrived late last night. Looking forward to going through the story mode over the next few days. Makes me wonder if this release will qualify for the fighting game category in the Keighley Show (TGAs) in December?

Hey, if Multiversus can be nominated for best fighting game in multiple years (Nominated & Winner 2022, Nominated 2024), why not GGS?

Played through arcade mode once with Elphelt. I'll have to look into options to see if I can tune the difficulty up? All I did was spam Elphelt's chain lollypop special attack and breezed through. The AI never used anti-aggression options to stop my spam.

I also watched an hour of the story mode. The production is great, but it feels bad for folks who might be new to the series. Thankfully, the GG World menu with terminology and supplemental info explains the timeline and Guilty Gear universe pretty well.

Anywho, I look forward to Fishing for all the Gallery stuff. The music especially.

Nice! Murphy’s Law is beating up my finances right now so it will be a while before I can get this but I am happy that it sounds like the switch port is good.

I'm having a blast playing but I haven't been able to choose a character to main. I guess I might go for Chipp since I like ninjas and fast gameplay. I love Happy Chaos but I don't have the level to take full advantage of it's moveset for the moment.
