Back to home school after a week off for spring break. I know I had a couple mentions, but the notifications were gone this morning, not sure what happened. I’ll go back and look if I have a minute, and I’ll try to be a little more regular around the ole CC thread.

For now though, gotta go teach the kids on the physics of how black holes may indeed allow for vehicular inter dimensional travel of multiple parties, and how that differs from individual inter dimensional travel via conscious projection.

@Anti-Matter - Hey Anti. They’re 4.5 and 6.5, so I was just joking. My son isn’t really in school, though I’m doing a pre school course with him just to get him started. He’s basically learning letters and numbers and trying to write. He does a lot of matching, pattern recognition, colors, that sort of early stuff. My daughter is doing first grade, so she has all the foundation work down, and she’s building on it. She started reading a little early and reads all the time, and she does a lot of handwriting, early math, introductory science, all kinds of fun stuff. It’s a fun age to teach, though our plan is to send them back to school next fall.

@TheJGG - As I mentioned to Anti, it was just a joke. They’re a little too young for that kind of stuff at the moment, though I suspect they’re at the perfect age for astral projection. That’s probably easiest for the young and the old. Maybe that will be summer school.

@bimmy-lee black holes are some fascinating stuff! The question is, do you feed your kids the proper cereals to have the will power to get out of one if they accidentally go in one? My power bowl of choice are sugar smacks. But perhaps they can eek their way out with honey nut cheerios. Look I'm no cosmological genius, but something tells me after 30 years of eating wavey cereal, I can destory a black hole with one European uppercut.

VERY crazy weekend, so apologies for the delayed replies. I've been joining in some D&D sessions with a small group, and yesterday was occupied with the usual Sunday shenanigans, seeing some immediate family, and the tail end of Community Day in Pokemon Go. At least I managed to land a couple shiny Pokemon!

@Anti-Matter I just heard about that earthquake today. Glad you're okay! I've been through one that was a about a 5.4 on the Richter Scale, but they aren't common where I live. I'm not near any huge plate boundaries, but there are a couple of fault systems in my general vicinity that have caused problems in the past.

My condolences to those who have been adversely affected, however.

@bimmy-lee The crazy thing is, I used to play some sim-type games back in the day. Besides a few old Maxis games via my school system (Though crazily enough, I've never touched SIMCity), I was also into some of the various Tycoon games at one point. The ones that really clicked with me were Roller Coaster Tycoon and the various Zoo Tycoon iterations, though. I would like to jump back into both series at some point, but they can be major timesinks lol. Oh, to be a kid again...XD

We'll see if I'm indebted to Tom Nook in the future.

By the way, good luck with the continued homeschooling! Black holes are indeed interesting subject matter. Even for 4.5 and 6.5 year-olds.

@TheJGG Agreed, I can't fault Apple for Face ID's failure when it comes to masks. I'm certain that they understandably weren't a big consideration when the feature was in development. Contrasting metals is definitely neat to experiment with when it comes to arranging collections/displays and photography. I do also prefer the sheen of silver!

I'm very rarely a spontaneous buyer; I tend to think things out and plan accordingly. It's a good thing many of the Switch eShop sales last several days; that gives me plenty of time to decide if I REALLY want something. It had been a bit since I've picked up a digital discount, but I did cave to a 60% Ys Origin discount before it expired over the weekend. Not sure when I'll play it, but I've heard the series is amazing!

I am still seeing the occasional snippet about Phillip and some of his life's accomplishments in my news feed. Like you, I think I'll research more into his life's work. To be honest, I didn't even know Queen Elizabeth II's spouse was still around (as she is also full of years) until a few months ago.

On the amputee: His story is certainly an inspiring one, though certainly one still in progress.

Over 40 degrees Celsius? That's rough. I've been in temps like that, but they aren't too common where I am. It usually tends to get pretty humid when the temps do reach around 30 degrees Celsius and above here, which certainly doesn't help. More humid places certainly exist - I've been to New Orleans in July, by far the humidity winner of my travels so far - but it certainly is unpleasant to walk outside and feel like you're being smothered lol.

I'd be curious to see how your own psychology experiment with the shorts plays out. To an extent, I do get some of the covering up with the sheer amount of heat and sun exposure on that area of the planet, especially in days before the advent of sunscreen. (Which I'm admittedly not a huge fan of due to how greasy it feels. I certainly will in lieu of the alternative, but I prefer to use clothing, sunglasses, hats, or some other type of cover if they're an option) Since I work in an indoors environment, I'm used to wearing Jeans and a nice shirt; my job allows the former. Jackets too even if I'm comfortable; I only remove them if I'm hot. My preferred outfit of choice is Jeans (or lounge/pajama pants if I'm indoors at home) and a t-shirt. Part of my covering up is I genuinely do get cold easily lol. I do suspect I'd still have to cover up more in Arabia if needed. Outside of practicality I wouldn't care for that, but I'm also one who doesn't like causing any friction if it isn't needed.

Admittedly at one point, I was a Facebook addict. Mainly with the games you could play on the platform though. I finally stopped playing them completely when I realized I was spending a good hour of my day just playing FarmVille and one of its cousins, FrontierVille. The time with those actually starts out short, but as they gradually add things for you to do.... I've thankfully rarely had issues actually being mocked over text or social media. That said, I can definitely relate to that poor girl on some level and pity her. I do hope she's doing well these days. Though what I went through wasn't online. Let's just say some of my school years weren't the best.

@ThanosReXXX To be honest, the Mario Kart Wii section was brief, so I didn't get much practice time in. It's been some time, but I believe it was the Wii Remote + Nunchuk combo. Duly noted on the efficiency of the GCN controller for Mario Kart.

I know you're teasing about the burgers lol. I assure you it's very rare! I usually only have them once or twice a month on average. Though sometimes that average skews up a bit during the summer months. XD

@NintendoByNature - It’s a fascinating question, one I’ve considered. If I ever thought one morning that, perhaps, we could end up hanging around a black hole later that day, I would no doubt MIX a bowl of my own concoction to maximize brute strength. I’m thinking a base of Cracklin Oat Bran, a layer of Lucky Charms, layer of Fruity Pebbles, fill in the gaps with Rice Krispies, then top with Corn Pops. I’d also fill a little bag with Cinnamon Toast Crunch and put it in my pocket just in case we need it later. Then we’d meet up with JCVD and go check out that black hole. But you’re not wrong, you’re uppercutting is some of the best I’ve seen. I knew cereal had to be the reason.

@bimmy-lee well, my friend. If there's two things I DO know, its all things JCVD and cereal. Again, not sure what our outcome would be in this hypothetical blackhole. But if I was to be thrown to the gauntlet of this hole, I'd pack in only the sugary champions. The smacks, cookie Krisp, the count, CT crunch, and my celebrity special edition would be Addams family cereal that honored the 1991 film. This was perhaps my favorite film based cereal. One that gave me the strength of 12 jcvd's in 1- 12 hour span. I will destory this black hole. I will be peoples champ after this.

@NintendoByNature How on Earth do you destory a black hole? 🤔

@Anti-Matter No, I didn't feel that earthquake! The one I was referring to happened many years ago. I was in high school at the time. It occurred during the early morning hours. The soil composition here isn't as dense as some areas, so earthquake waves travel farther and can be felt over longer distances.

@ogo79 Ah, so excitement levels were at 11 on a 1-10 scale? Been awhile since I've reached that limit, but it does happen! XD

What an awful day today! I was embroiled in a particularly tough game of dodgeball, and volleyball and I was darting left and right so many times that I ended up doing a Neymar... six times. I tried to bump a volleyball and fell over and rolled six feet away without being able to stop. And just when I couldn't get more cramped I ended up significantly cramping a muscle in my back, and lay on the floor for two minutes shaking like I was having a seizure. I had a mask on so I also started feeling a loss of breath... I think the blood rushed to my head and gave me the impression I had a high fever... so the next few days I'm absolutely taking it easy.

@Tyranexx I haven't tried the camera all that much but there's been some quality photos, those two I showed being some of the only ones thus far.

Tomb Raider aside I've only managed to get... Persona 5 Strikers in the last month. The phone set me back a considerable amount so I'l have to skimp on games for a while. A worthy sacrifice though!

Reading up on world news is always fascinating. Watching English news is quite boring because they keep going on about coronavirus this and coronavirus that. The media in England likes to do that; home in on a target and just destroy them from the inside with overexposure to the media. And as for Prince Phillip he was very progressive, and brought the royal family into the new era, which I'll always respect.

It may be burning over here but I'll have to say, the wind is really quite nice. It gives you this bizarre feeling of being hot and cold at the same time, because the ambient air is hot while the wind is cold. That's a lifesaver.

Having said that Ramadan began earlier today (the 13th), so many people around me will have to abstain from food, and water from sunrise to sunset, every day for a month, plus no intercourse. I'm respectful of this and make sure to not reference food or drink while around people. It does mean I have to wait six hours myself between my having breakfast and my lunch break, but I have the next 29 days to work around it.

I plan to fast twice a week, or at least try and go as long as I can without breaking it. I found it difficult doing just six hours today so it'll be a very large challenge. I feel that fasting for vanity is unacceptable, because it ignores the entire religious subtext, in lieu of personal gain. I plan to do so because I'd like to see what it's like.

During my so-called "horrendus die" (horrible day, looked up some Latin for that, a very interesting language) I wore a very thick and tight hoodie, so in addition to all my descriptions above I also half choked. God I need to get it out of my system. But it's good your work allows for free dress, it'll allow you to be more expressive with your clothing choice. I continue to wear shorts at least twice a week so if it's irking someone it's not showing yet!

Mental security is so important now, especially because of social media. It's both a boon for me, and the bane of my existence. It allows me to stay in contact with people but it also allows for hate, and toxicity. The girl herself is doing extremely well, she's really picked herself up after all that. But it's that example that makes me feel very secure about my decision to reject social media.

I've been urged over the last few days by some people, to bite the bullet and start an Instagram account. I didn't give it serious though but I thought about whether there would be any gains from it, and there's nothing to be had. All because some people can't fathom the idea of giving me their phone number for... actual messaging. I've never had any interest in using it, and here I'd be considered abnormal, or euphemistically, unique. I don't reject it to stand out, but my lack of interest of course would mean I'd have to say no to it all the same. Besides, some people I'd very much like to leave behind use it, and I don't want any Tom, Dick and Harry DMing me, thank you very much. I want to choose my contacts.

I wanted to write less because of my current exhaustion but seems with yourself and ThanosReXXX, that's simply not an option!

@Tyranexx I totally forgot to reply to your post, lol. My mistake.

Oh man, I remember Big Rigs. That game got a 1 out of 10 at GameSpot (the lowest score at the site), so it's quite infamous for being one of the worst games ever made. If you can even call it a game, that is! It got a lower score than even Superman 64. I downloaded it a long time ago out of curiosity...yep, it's an unfinished mess of a game, all right. Good thing I didn't pay for it! Even Monster Truck Madness, a game I had for Windows 95 BTW, played a heck of a lot better than Big Rigs. lol

I looked up Sega-16's website and there's OutRun (the original), OutRun 2019 (no, it didn't come out two years ago), and OutRunners. There's the Road Rash series as well, though you're driving a motorcycle in it.

@TheJGG Yeah, well... it's not like Nintendo Online is free or anything, and if they somehow do think that N64 ROMs are too big for Online, they could always throw them in the eShop...

P.S.

What girl and what did I do now again with my replies? Seems like I've missed out on a couple of important clues over the last two days...

ogo79 wrote:

@ogo79 Erm.... because skeletons actually ARE white instead of bright blue or red?

I don't even think you believe that yourself, not even for a single second...

Some cool stuff though, and those figurines look really good. Almost tempted, but not quite. I'm sticking to games and consoles nowadays: my figurine and game and/or comic related action figure collecting days have already been over for decades, luckily, because I have no room to display them and I'd rather spend the money on something else.

On a side note: they did make a tiny mistake on the package, though seeing as in the game, the main villain is usually mentioned as "Death=Adder"...
