@Tyranexx - I think we’ve discussed sharing similar gaming compulsions, and I can say firmly that Animal Crossing does not induce any of my anxiety about doing “everything” and talking to every NPC. I realized very early on that there was just no way that would be possible in this game, and it set me free from worry. I’ve been playing for a year and still don’t have all varieties of fruit trees. I guess that’s just the way it is unless you get really active about joining a community and trading things. The kiddos do love it though, and our messy island is mostly of their design. We mainly just go back for seasonal and holiday events now, but I put some work in ahead of those events earning some bells, maybe making a new spot on the island, and decorating the house in a special way for them. Good times.

On the outdoor topic, all my redbuds are covered in little purple buds! It won’t be too long until we have our yearly short but glorious redbud mania.

@ogo79 - I ate all the eggs and kicked outta my coma. What doesn’t kill me only makes me hungrier. Dude, you’ve been killing it with those recent purchases. The CYOA board game and Golden Axe skeletons are great. Did you buy the DLC costume pack to change those GA skeletons into Army of Darkness skeletons?

@ThanosReXXX - I wonder if there will be a big enough niche market someday for someone to make new tube TVs just for retro gaming, though it seems the cost to the consumer would be ridiculous if they’re not mass manufactured. I’ll post a pic of the perler bead witch next fall when I dig her out of storage.

@MarioLover92 - I also like photographs of nature overtaking abandoned man made structures, and enjoyed @Anti-Matter ‘s pic of the ruined building. I don’t know why, but it’s just so pleasing to me. It really shows the power and restorative nature of... nature! It’s amazing to see simple vines and tree roots break apart and tear down buildings over time.

@Sunsy - A belated happy birthday. Glad you had a nice day.

@bimmy-lee I agree, it’s so difficult to do everything you can in one day of Animal Crossing. It kinda cures my overindulgence for games in that respect, because I get bored after fifteen minutes. Or rather, I’ve done all I’d like to in fifteen.

So, today is 10 April 2021 12.11 am here.
It will be my 5th Anniversary of Wii U machine purchase day (i bought Wii U on 10 April 2016)
Wii U was the only machine i bought with color i don't like at all (Black Wii U).
I bought Black Wii U with Mario Kart 8 Bundle + Digital codes for 2 DLC, the worst bundle i have ever bought since i have no other bundle choices to be bought at that time (if i have choice, i want White Wii U bundle 32 GB). And my Wii U is still look ugly in Black color without some makeover. I don't understand why gamers like Black color for video game machine. I like White colored video game machine instead, White color is represent innocence and my rebel against the mainstream. Yes, it will looks like kiddie toys and i don't even care because i want to keep portraying my video game machines like a kiddie toys with White color.

The best bundle i bought was PS4 Slim White 500 GB, New 3DS XL USA / LL Japan Pearl White, New 3DS XL Fire Emblem edition PAL.
PSP 3000 was the only machine i got in Blue color.

@Anti-Matter "I don't understand why gamers like Black color for video game machine just want to be called like a real Man or real gamer. I like White colored video game machine instead, White color is represent innocence and my rebel against the mainstream. "

Why do you have to spew such crap really?

I like black electronics because they look slick, elegant and modern. My PS4 Pro, One X and my grey+black Switch look amazing! Not because of the things you say. Stop living in some made up fantasy.

Next time just say you prefer colorful electronics with vivid colors instead of insulting the whole gaming community!

Hiya. 😀
Have you seen my photo of turkey birds ?
I was surprised to see some turkey birds walking around neighborhood as i have never seen before turkey birds very close.
It was this morning right before i entered my school, i saw 3 creatures looks like chicken but bigger, i was thinking was that chickens but after i get closer, they were turkey birds. Usually cats are wandering around house complex in neighborhood but to see turkey birds walking around neighborhood, it was something very unusual. I was thinking the turkey birds might have the owner and where was the owner to let turkey birds walking around the house complex and eating wild grasses.

About abandoned buildings, there were another abandoned building around my neighborhood that recently got a house makeover after someone has purchased that venue. Before that, the house was incomplete modern looking house blocked by rotten iron gates and some dead ivy.

@Anti-Matter No worries, man. And never be afraid to reply to me: I may be a bit too direct at times, but it's not like I'm going to bite your head off...

You should always feel confident enough to stand up for yourself, and it's also okay to not have the same likes. At least we all share the same hobby in general, and that's gaming. And remember: you even managed to interest me in Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers, so that's a considerable achievement to put on your list...

P.S.

Your comment on console colors is a bit... abstract and it misses the point. In general, lots of audio and video equipment comes in black or at least in darker colors, and it has a specific purpose, which has really nothing to do whatsoever with it meaning that people are more tough or manly. It's simply because the equipment shouldn't stand out when it's placed next to or underneath your TV, so that the focus goes to what's important, and that is what the hardware displays on the screen, NOT how it looks underneath that TV.

Besides that, white equipment gets dirtier far more quickly, and also discolors with time, whereas black does not. In general, the meaning of white as a color code does mean purity and innocence and so on, but that does not apply to consoles. That's more for flowers and wedding dresses...

@Tyranexx Ha, I never even considered or thought of the on-board casinos. I just meant being on a riverboat, lounging on the deck, enjoying the view and admiring the mechanics of it. I don't find anything romantic in casinos.

As for Mario Kart: if you ever manage to kidnap that Wii from your parent's home, you really owe it to yourself to get both Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart Double Dash for the GameCube, they're SO much fun to play and offer tons of replay value.

@ogo79 Well, if that's crap, then it's some pretty cool crap, to be honest. Golden Axe is one of my favorite retro games. Kinda odd that they'd have the skeletons as action figures, though. I'd sooner figure that they'd have the main cast as action figures instead.

@bimmy-lee NEXT Fall??? Well, I guess I'll better learn to exercise some extreme patience, then...

As for newly manufactured CRT's: wouldn't that be something? Although they'd probably screw them up and they STILL wouldn't work with light gun games, one of the main reasons why I still want one.

@Eel Yeah I got the Twilight Princess edition of Picross as well, shortly after My Nintendo launched. It's one of the better rewards that MN has.

@Tyranexx I enjoy racing games quite a bit, whether they're arcade or kart racers. I love the thrill of going fast, lol! Mario Kart and F-Zero are my two favorite ones, and I used to have stuff like San Francisco Rush on the N64, which was also a good time. I just got Daytona USA from the PS3 store too. Kinda wish it came out on Switch though.

@bimmy-lee Yeah, those photographs are fascinating to see. There's a local nature park that I enjoy walking around in - I even went ahead and took a bunch of pictures while walking!

@ThanosReXXX Mario Kart: Double Dash is awesome, I like its two-character mechanic and how each character gets their own special item. I love its tracks as well! It's definitely the most unique Mario Kart game. Mario Kart Wii is also quite good, I dig its character roster and tracks, but it's the one that has that dang thunder cloud. Why have an item that harms you?

@ThanosReXXX
How was your progress about Dillon's Dead Heat Breakers ? 😀
Currently i will have a mission at Baumkuch Base (Mayor Redbeef, Anthro bull. He looks hot with some muscle but he was quite rude) but that's one of the least favorite place to play as it has some sandy area in the center and upper corner + high boulders so i have to circle around to catch the Grocks. My last mission was pretty tough, i failed to catch last 2 Grocks during Shifting time and both of them turned into Final Grocks (but in Blue color) and they run quickly toward my barracks and destroyed them. I have successfully defeat them but it cost 2 destroyed barracks, i wasn't happy as it decreased my final score and the reward i will get. 😣

Btw, have you or your kids played Rabbids games on Wii ?
Recently i was interested to watch the gameplay video of Rabbids Go Home, Rayman Raving Rabbids 1 + 2 games, Rabbids TV party Show, Rabbids Travel in Time after somehow i dare myself to getting know about Rabbids by curiosity.
In my opinion, Rabbids are really ugly, stupid and annoying but their games surprisingly very hilarious and interesting. When i tried to watch Rabbids Go Home gameplay video, my first reaction was "What the heck was that game? They use shopping cart to take tons of random stuffs, strip the people's clothes, stack up the random things into pile tower to reach the Moon, send the items into tuba, get off from mission by get into toilet, etc. They are not shopping, they are shoplifters. Not gonna lie, i was laughing to see craziness like that but still at the same time i didn't really like the Rabbids looking. It was complicated to explain, as i watched more videos of Rabbids games, i have mixed reaction between interested, indifferent, curios, gross, disbelief, etc. like Rabbids are ugly and annoying but they are genuinely funny for some reasons despite sometimes they are really stupid and gross, their games are actually looks interesting to play. I was also laughing to see mini game from Raving Rabbids 2 where you play as worker in office and try to slack off as many as possible before the boss came to supervise the workers. Also, the mini game where you play as rascal students and you have to throw paper balls as many as possible before the teacher turned his body to punish whoever get caught throwing the paper balls toward him. I was thinking what a rascal students over there. 🤣
I found those Rabbids games was on sale from Tokopedia and i will try to get them in June 2021.

It sad to hear PS3 store will be closed 3 months later as i have some PS3 games with DLC such as Ratchet & Clank QForce, DDR 2010, F1 Race Stars.
Currently i have 29 PS3 games.
I already get All Ratchet & Clank PS3 games + Sly Cooper PS3 games + Jak & Daxter Collection in physical. What an unbelievable achievement to get all those trio platformer games by SONY.

Many responses it seems, so I think I'll be splitting this up into two posts. XD

@Anti-Matter It depends in part on the types of plants found in an area, but generally if there aren't people around to keep weeds, tree seedlings, and even the plants you do want around in check, they can take over in a hurry! It's amazing what can happen in time as little as a few months to a year to an abandoned property.

Turkeys, huh? I wonder if they are domesticated birds that escaped or were turned loose; I believe they're native to the Americas. Wild turkeys are pretty common where I live, and plenty of people raise them domestically too. Though escaped chickens are far more common where I live. XD

@ogo79 It appears that it was full of Golden Axe skeletons, so I'd say it was worth it!

@TheJGG Congrats on the new phone! Face ID sounds really useful and is something I'd definitely try. The closest I've come so far is a fingerprint scanner. Maybe one day! Having a great camera is a definite plus too. We've certainly come a long way from the blurry, meh photos my first phone - a "dumb" phone, by modern standards - used to take. I really like the shot of the medals on the previous page.

I'd love to watch the Mulan comparison video, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to want to load for me right now.

I've occasionally eaten things like burgers on an exercise day, but I intentionally don't do that close to when I exercise and wait until afterward if it's a possibility. I learned the hard way that exercising too quickly after eating and/or inhaling a large meal is NOT fun.

Bookshops are definitely fun to explore! Like you, I enjoy checking a lot of different sections, though there are a few genres (Ex. cooking, politics) that I'm not that into. I do go in with a budget in mind and (usually) don't exceed it. Otherwise, I'd also have to pick up a new shelving unit on the way home. XD I do enjoy comics and graphic novels, but I do agree that those sections can be pretty overwhelming with the sheer amount of content. Usually I stick with my favorites or series that I know have a decent reception when in that area.

I did see the news about Prince Phillip. 99 years (nearly a centenarian!) is a very good age, and I certainly hope his passing was peaceful and painless. I have little investment in the British Royal Family, but from what I do know about the man, he certainly deserves respect and honor.

On the amputee: He is indeed very lucky and has been able to attend school normally again (Well, as normally as possible in these crazy times). He was heavily invested in sports before his accident, so I do know that's been a hard blow. However, he's also a fighter; I expect he'll be able to do most of the things he was able to do before with hard work and further therapy.

I do try to approach topics with an open mind. I may not agree with someone on a subject, but I will at least try to listen to their reasoning for how they feel on the matter. Though solid sources to back them up certainly help their case lol. I can see how shorts aren't common in the Middle East, especially among women; from what I do know, I'm sure how I normally dress would be frowned upon in many more traditional societies in that part of the world, though by Western standards I'm VERY modest. XD It sounds like your explanation made perfect sense, and the questioner was willing to hear your side of the story.

So you're well-versed with the Equator, and sunscreen! I quite dislike how lotion-y the latter always feels, but I can (usually) tolerate it over the alternative. Wonder what would happen if you were sent to a cooler climate for a couple weeks.

I've gotten better at small talk with practice and can certainly conduct it (fairly) well these days. I definitely don't enjoy it however. In terms of my Facebook account, I wasn't even the one who originally set it up; that was done by some ladies at a summer gathering I went to that I was selected for. Sponsored by our local American Legion. It was set up so I could stay in touch with some of them. I changed my password shortly after lol. I actually used it fairly consistently until last summer, where I had to get away from the platform for awhile for my mental health. I do occasionally check my notifications, but I've been happy dedicating less time to the platform. LinkedIn, is, at least, professional in my experience. Very little Trubbish to be found there.

@bimmy-lee There are several reasons that I normally avoid farming or busywork sim-type games such as Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, and Animal Crossing these days (I partially blame the infamous FarmVille on FB for burning me out at one point, but there are other reasons too). Some of my impressions of AC are admittedly based off of people who (usually jokingly, but sometimes seriously) claim they're addicted. I do fully intend to try AC:NH (or at least one of the other Animal Crossings at some point, and at my own pace. It's possible that could be my problem: I'm used to normally having some type of objective, and I was conditioned early to do all the things. XD All that said, your words are encouraging!

Some of the redbuds are starting to bloom spectacularly here as well. Enjoy the redbud mania; the blooming trees are one of my favorite parts of spring! I do believe my favorite flowering tree is the magnolia.

@ThanosReXXX I certainly share your preferences of what getting on a riverboat should entail. I'd want to get on one to relax, not anxiously watch my budgeted wad of cash rise, then fall, then rise, then crash spectacularly. XD

Duly noted on the Wii and GCN iterations of Mario Kart. We'll see how bad I still am with MK Wii if I ever do get my hands on it again. XD

@MarioLover92 I do enjoy racing games in the right mood and circumstances. I think my main issue is how repetitive many of those games get before too long. Though I do realize a lot of that is up to the content on offer. I do have some experience with other racing series, such as Need For Speed, the original F-Zero (Thanks to the SNES Mini), a few arcade racers of different types, and...a game I don't recall the title of on the Sega Genesis. I had a babysitter who owned it, but to this day I'm still unsure which game it was. From some investigating, I THINK it might have been one of the OutRun titles. But I'm really not sure.

I have, unfortunately, also played a bit of Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing. Not much; it was my brother's game, and I recognized pretty quickly that it belonged in the garbage can. XD

Just now at 2 pm there was an earthquake in my hometown Surabaya and other cities nearby !! 😱😱
I was on my bed browsing website from my handphone, suddenly i felt my bed was swinging. I saw the mirror table in my bedroom also swinging. It was happened several seconds then it stopped. 15 minutes later i got the data about earthquake that just happened.

It was 6.7 magnitude from Indian Ocean. Nothing serious happened.

I like white and black consoles equally. They have really nice meanings. The PS5 has a white and black colour scheme but I like the white parts more, mainly because the white parts of the console are matte while the black part where the power, eject buttons are, is glossy. Gloss is awful on a console because it becomes very easy to see thumbprints even from far away.

I personally don’t care about labels and stereotypes as to what constitutes a masculine or feminine person. I like using men and women equally as profile images, and I often discuss objectification and representation in gaming. So a matter like console colour as a way of determining your worth as a gamer means absolutely nothing to me.

Apologies for a bit of a late reply, was busier than expected yesterday.

@BabyYoda71 @bimmy-lee Thank you both for the birthday wishes.

@MarioLover92 Me too, I had fun with the remakes of CTR and the classic games, but I love when a classic series gets a new entry.

@Tyranexx Definitely was, I think the new games will keep me busy for quite some time too.

The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!

bimmy-lee

@TheJGG - Yeah, AC doesn’t even pretend to try anymore with me, it’s just repeat recipes and items, and native fruit at every mystery island. I know the probability rates for special mystery islands are very low, but my luck is comically bad at 0%. That said, I still really like the game as my first entry into the franchise. My kids enjoy it, and our main hobby is fish and bug collecting so we can trade in for the models when we get the opportunity.

@Anti-Matter - That’s a really cool modern house. Hopefully the new owner can fix it up. Those turkeys were also neat. That was a male and female, they probably escaped from a farm somewhere. Like most wild birds, they’re skittish and flighty by nature. You typically can’t get close to one. In the picture, it looked liked they were scratching around looking for feed.

@ThanosReXXX - Haha, well Witchy Wanda is in the crawlspace with all the other decorations, and I absolutely buried them with all kinds of other crap that was in the basement. I’ll need to get all that stuff pulled back out and dealt with by next fall at the latest, but I’ll send a pic if I get to her ahead of schedule. It’s mostly stuff I really don’t want to deal with though, so my motivation is quite low!

@MarioLover92 - Sounds real nice. We have a big park across the street and spend a lot of time there when the weather is nice. Have you ever heard of the free Seek app? If you like snapping pics in the wild, you might like it. It’s a plant and wildlife identification app. I’ve been using it for a couple years now and it’s a lot of fun, and really very accurate.

@Tyranexx - Yep, I’m not a big farm/life/work sim player either, but AC sure got its hooks in me. Probably because of the variety of activities and hobbies to pursue, and I really do enjoy making pleasing little areas on the island as well as in and around our home. Love magnolias. My neighbor has one going strong right now.

A regular part of my day; replying! I enjoy it even though sometimes I write a bit slower than I'd usually want. I've tried experimenting with Dictation, so maybe I'll try composing posts one day with that instead of typing everything out like a caveman. There'll be a lot of "um"-s though so I'll make sure to fine tune it.

@Tyranexx It's great, and all things considered is a very worthwhile decision. Only shortcoming, and I really can't fault Apple for this at all, is that I can't use Face ID to unlock it while wearing a face mask. It CAN however unlock while you're wearing sunglasses, so that's one area it really impressed me. Fingerprint scanning doesn't work half the time, but face scanning is very reliable.

The lighting for my medal shot was really fun to shoot, because of all the ways the lights play off the golds. Despite being a literal athlete going for gold I prefer the silver metals used in silver medals. I didn't get 1st, 2nd and 3rd deliberately but I was happy whenever I got all three, so I could compare the medals.

Eating in general is about management and pace. I ate two baozi buns with a small piece of fried chicken for lunch, and I was absolutely filled up. I've eaten the last two for dinner. All because the buns were really thick, paired with some exquisite fried chicken. Today was one of the hardest training sessions I've done in a good year, so I enjoyed it immensely.

Cooking and politics are sections I can live without when exploring bookshops. I never buy stuff on a whim, or make a hasty buying choice; I always thing things out. Unless there's a huge discount on the PlayStation Store in which case everything be damned!

The British news is going mad over this. Especially the BBC since they're contractually obliged to get the news first. I'm not in any kind of mourning; he lived so long anyway so it's not like we're losing a guy unfairly, but I will take the time to research him, watch his obituaries, and admire his life's work. He was a very progressive man, and was the first royal to grant a television interview. He did tons of greets with the public, started an award for youth around the country, and from what I know was a very enjoyable presence even in his nineties. He was apparently the soul of the room right up until the end.

Jeez that's awful, I'll absolutely understand just how hard it can be to lose the ability to do sports. I'm glad he's recovering and at least that he's alive. His story can be remembered in a more positive light compared to if he didn't make it.

Having said that I hope I can call in sick tomorrow and Monday; it's going to be over 40 degrees here. In the US that'd be over 100 degrees.

Well it seems today people like wearing the least amount of clothing within the law. Arabic culture is different but not in a good way at first glance. Yesterday the same guy pointed out to me that nobody else around me wore shorts, and then I turned around to find that indeed I was the only person out of a good one hundred that was wearing shorts.

I'm reminded of a psychology experiment where a person enters an elevator with ten people, all facing to away from the door. The person initially faces the front, but they eventually succumb to the pressure and face backwards like everyone else. I'm not prepared to just give up and be yet another sheep, so it's fascinating, this.

If by Western standards you dress modest, the way I dress may as well be illegal, because unless it's a very hot climate, like where I am now, I cover up every last inch of my skin. So a generic outfit would be joggers, and short-sleeve T-shirt underneath a hoodie. But if you say you're modest my first guess is that it'd be wise to cover more if you find yourself in Arabia.

Well... explains why you don't use it too much, and knowing when to stop is very good. I knew a girl who was mocked over social media for her looks, and she had to change schools because of how badly it was affecting her mental health. Whether you've ever found yourself in this situation or not I'm glad that this time you made the right choice.
