@toiletduck Ah. I guess sports don't have the better options. Thankfully for me, I don't care about sports so I lose nothing. I only watch sports while with people who do like them and root for whomever they like.

@Anti-Matter
Oh yeah, that's right, I remember now. I saw your comments on various Ninjala articles before it released.
That being said, do you still have an interest in getting it at some point?
Wait, seriously, you created a thread and no one replied to it?! Sorry to hear about that.
@Tyranexx
Oh okay, thanks for letting me know. I think I've heard of it before, but I don't know much about it. That's good that the current owners are fixing it. Oof, that stinks that the previous owners were letting most of it "rot".
That sounds like an interesting job to have. I hope you're enjoying it. 🤔
@Sunsy
Oh okay, I didn't realize it was a couple of years ago, whoops. When I found out the racing parts being removed, I was like "but that was one of the best parts of SuperChargers". That being said, are the racing elements a big part of the story in Imaginators, or is it it's own mode in Imaginators?
I didn't realize you were a Ninjala fan, I guess I've missed your comments on the Ninjala articles that have been posted.
I've seen the newest Dev Diary, and it's pretty cool. Well, Nintendo Life put the latest Dev Diary into the Ninjala reaching 6 Million downloads article, so know you have an even better chance to watch it.🤔 I still need to watch the anime for Ninjala. Nice, I didn't end up getting any of the Sonic costumes, as they were really expensive. That would have worked for Amy, I didn't think of that. 🤔
If you don't mind me asking, have you gotten anything from the other Collabs?
Please give Ninjala a chance, guys. 🤔
As @Sunsy said,
Ninjala Gang FOR LIFE!
Also, if I don't respond to your post within a day (or two), don't worry, I'm not ignoring you. I'm going to be busy, though I will do my best to respond in a timely fashion.
@sunsy so I played woolly world with my son last night, and btw I asked this in the woolly world thread which is pretty dead atm as you can imagine; But, why is this game super laggy and skips? It's the only game that does this for me. I read a few pages (reddit) that if the gamepad screen is off it lags and skips. So I tested it and it works fine when the gamepad is on. Really odd. I wanted to see if it happened to you as well and if nintendo ever acknowledged that.
@NintendoByNature strange. I was playing this too and after seeing your message gave it a try with 2 pro controllers with no gamepad and have no problems.
Could be a update I’m on version 1.1.0.
Hope it works out
We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
@SM3DASislit
I still keep following the latest news added on Ninjala but since i don't have the game (Not interested to play F2P games without physical media) i couldn't say how was the latest situation over there.
Btw, when first time i saw Ninjala, i was thinking "Kingdom Hearts?!" because it was looks like Kingdom Hearts battle style on the wall.
I like ARMS more than Ninjala since from the first time i saw the first trailer, love at the first sight because i love Boxing and when i saw unique Boxing game with extending arms like Dhalsim (Dhalsim is fighter from Street Fighter 2), immediately i falling in love with ARMS.
Springman and Max Brass are two favorite fighters i oftenly used. And this is my hand drawing of Chibi Springman.
My brother has been playing Fire Emblem Three Houses (in Spanish), and wow, I wasn't expecting a first party Nintendo game to have such amateurish translation errors.
So far he has shown me two pics, one of a character saying "I'm worried" (but in a way where it reads as if "worried" is their name), and another one where a character says... Lemme retranslate it to English for your reading pleasure:
"Eldegard.... I can't anymore keep promise... Forgive to me... Please..."
@SM3DASislit Haha, no, I don't mind you asking at all. How polite. That's not something I come across all too often anymore, these days. (damn, now I've instantly made myself feel REALLY old... )
My first impression of Ninjala was indeed "Splatoon with bubblegum", so it didn't really differentiate itself in a very unique way, and first impressions are key, so if the first impression is that you're game comes across as a Splatoon wannabe, then that's not really a good start.
Other than that, I don't play a whole lot of free to play games, and I'm also not really an online multiplayer, unless it is with friends, and most of them don't own a Switch.
@Heavyarms55 Ha, yeah commercials are WAY too present nowadays. Over here, especially in longer movies (think Lord of the Rings and such), the total amount of commercial breaks can easily add 30 to 40 minutes to the total running time. It doesn't bother me that much, though. I simply shrug it off, and use the breaks to get drinks, snacks, make a pit stop and so on. Or to post comments on NLife...
But having said that, I don't buy the excuses concerning the reason for the ever increasing amount of commercials. Commercial networks always say that it's to recoup the cost of the programs that they broadcast, but that instantly makes you wonder how those streaming services manage to do completely without commercials, and usually for cheaper as well.
I do have to wonder, though: did you never watch regular TV back in Japan, or did you also exclusively use streaming services? I'd dare to wager a bet that commercials are quite prevalent there as well...
@Tyranexx Yeah, I'm pretty happy with my purchases as well. And you definitely should get Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., because it's a massively entertaining game. Well, at least in my opinion. I played the demo to bits when it first released, back in the day. As for Federation Force: when the dust settled, and all the people with their torches and pitchforks finally gave up and went home, it turned out that there's actually a pretty decent game to be found there, as witnessed by a number of thorough reviews. And there's plenty to be had there in single player mode as well, also concerning replay value, because you can keep leveling up, which is obviously ultimately meant for online play, but regardless of that, you can also keep honing your skills without going online.
But even besides all that, I always planned to get it anyway, initially because of the "so bad it must be good" formula/rule, but by now because of the aforementioned reasons. I might even get a second copy, so I can play against someone else at some point in time...
@Sunsy Yup, I can completely agree with that. I do read reviews, obviously, but I never blindly follow them. Far as your mention of the Sonic Boom update goes, fair enough and good on you. Having various opinions and/or sources of information at one's disposal is never a bad thing, after all...
@Zuljaras Be sure to let me know how it works out, and if the box (and disc) are in a good enough condition. By the way: did I ever point out my other British go-to sites for games? Just in case I didn't, here they are:
@ThanosReXXX Thank you so much for that! I still can't believe some of the prices. I mean 9 pounds for Zero Tolerance on the Mega Drive? This can't be authentic but the picture sure is convincing!
@ThanosReXXX I didn't watch much regular TV in Japan either. They of course have commercials too. But I couldn't say how they compare to US commercials. I did technically have cable, because it was part of my package deal with phone and internet, but I never hooked it up. It was actually cheaper to have the package than to get just phone and internet on their own weirdly.

@SM3DASislit If I remember correctly, Imaginator's racing was its own mode. Yeah I am, I've been playing since the one game I got to play in the beta (before the servers crashed). I was playing it a bit this morning. I usually catch the videos since I'm subbed to the Ninjala YouTube channel, so I usually catch them as they come out.
Do give the anime a watch, they're short episodes, but they give the characters backstory. So far my favorite is Lucy. I haven't bought anything from any other collabs.
@NintendoByNature I popped in my Yoshi Woolly World disc to see for myself. Never had a lagging issue with the game, I decided to try playing with my gamepad, my Wii remote, and pro controller. Everytime I turn off the gamepad screen, it comes on when I push the button. Then when I turned off the gamepad screen and used the Wii remote to play, it slowed down in some spots.
Never knew this bug existed in all the years owning this game. Really a weird find. If I leave the gamepad alone (with screen on), and use either the pro controller or the Wii remote, it runs fine.
@ThanosReXXX Indeed. Personally, I sometimes like watching videos to see what the gameplay is like. Trailers can be exciting, but sometimes it's nice to see actual gameplay in action.
@Zuljaras You're very welcome. Guess I never gave you those links before then, huh?
And I can vouch for each and every one of those sites, because I've ordered games from all of them. Do keep in mind that in your case, the postage & packaging cost might be a bit higher, in some cases.
@Heavyarms55 Well, that's not really all that weird at all. I also have one of these so-called all-in-one packages, with a set top box for TV, internet and a landline with a phone. The entire bundle together costs me around 70 - 75 bucks, whereas separately added up, it would come to around 85 - 90 bucks, and with each added product, I get a 5 buck discount, so even though I have a set top box with WAY more channels than I'll ever watch, it's cheaper than getting an "incomplete" bundle.
And besides, all these devices and services are connected to the same modem/router, so everything comes through the power of the internet anyway, so for the company, it's basically just unlocking options on their end, because you basically already have all the equipment in your home. And obviously, to them it's customer retention/triggering: it's more profitable to have more subscribers for a slightly lower monthly fee, than to have less subscribers for a higher fee. And those paying less will usually also stay with the company for longer, so it's a win-win...
@Eel Perhaps you should check the end credits of the game, to see if there's a mention of Google Translate...
@Sunsy True, but not for all games, though: some games can convey a kind of "feel" that'll only click or resonate with you if you actually play the game yourself, and no amount of watching videos will convey that same feeling, also because of the lack of participation/immersion. You're just a spectator, after all, so that part then gets lost in translation.
Oh, and YouTube's compression ratios are STILL laughably bad, making people accuse games that run buttery smooth of having a below par frame rate and sketchy resolutions, but that's all thanks to YouTube's compression tunnel of hell...
Last time I read something about that, I believe the average number was between 80 and 85 percent, and only some outliers at around 90, so you'll never get a 1:1 video on YouTube. Not even with the so-called 60fps option. That's probably also the reason why sites like EuroGamer/DigitalFoundry have a members only video repository, where you can download all their videos in their ACTUAL, maximum resolution and quality.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@ThanosReXXX I can agree with that too, it makes me wish there were more demos to games. I do wish rental stores were still around, can't count how many times renting a game let me decide whether I wanted to own a game or pass on it.
Didn't know that about Digital Foundry doing that, albeit members only.
@NintendoByNature I'm very surprised too considering I've had the game for years. Usually, if the option is there on Wii U games, I'll use my Wii remote or pro controller, and just leave my gamepad in the dock.
Personally, I've always played Yoshi's Woolly World this way, using a pro controller, or the Wii classic controller (actually, it's one of those PDP Fight Pads with a fitting Yoshi theme) in a Wii Remote.
Never bothered with the gamepad screen off feature as pressing a button turns it back on. I wanted to try that originally hoping it would extend battery life while playing.
