Re: Rumour: Monster Hunter Wilds' Latest Update Has Fans Talking About A Switch 2 Version

Sure it could come, but this feels more like a left over piece of code from another project.

Much more likely that Rise is getting a Switch 2 edition and the code was simply copied over from that considering they run on the same engine. The Engine itself has probably had some code updated considering all the Switch 2 projects Capcom are working on and it just so happens that Rise is the first game to see this Engine side update.

I wouldn't read much into it. Which isnt necessarily a bad thing considering most considering Rise a much better game

Anachronism

My understanding is that this game is absurdly power hungry, often for no discernable reason. It sounds like it should have a lot of room for optimization if Capcom throws enough money and programmers at it, and given it's the biggest black mark on what's mostly been a stellar few years for them, maybe they'll actually put in the effort to fix it.

That said, I will be very surprised if they manage to get a Switch 2 version running with decent visuals and anything approaching a stable frame rate.

Info just broke concerning how Switch 2 will avoid a CPU bottleneck. Apparently it will utilize DLSS, cull NPCs by 50%, reduce foliage and we can already safely assume lower textures.

It also mentioned local wireless multi-player. So ya, it looks like it's happening!

I'm gonna laugh when this game runs just as well if not better than other versions (albeit at 1080p 30 frames but that's a given).

Capcom would be better making monster hunters rise switch 2 edition or bringing monster hunter world to switch 2 than trying to bring wilds over. That game came out too soon on the other systems. They should have optimized it better before its release. A switch 2 version of that would just be bad. Monster hunters stories 3 though will just have to fill the void until they make another game like rise for switch 2 that can be brought over to the other systems.

Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe Nintendo Switch 2 Rating Pops Up Online

@the_beaver That seems like a very good prediction to me. I think you might be exactly right. And I hope so too! That would be very fun to have Pikmin get that much attention. I love Pikmin 3 Deluxe and a Switch 2 upgrade would be fascinating, as it is so close to perfection as it is. Pikmin 4 is a great, long campaign but desperately needs content in the multiplayer and mission mode options. Finally, Pikmin 5 in the next year or two would be amazing. Especially if it toned down Oatchi a bit and gave us three playable characters again. My big question would be: what colors/types of Pikmin would Nintendo dream up? Guess we’ve got orange and brown left in the visible spectrum (if you count glow Pikmin as green). I suppose you could do silver and gold or something like that, or even rainbow colored Pikmin. Historically each new entry introduces x2 new Pikmin types so we shall see!

Re: Square Enix Wants Feedback About The Final Fantasy Series In Its New Survey

Final Fantasy 7 Remake was such a triumph in gameplay and combat mechanics, and it's a shame FFXVI couldn't build from it (since it was a separate development team I believe).

Having an actual party with banter is essential - it's the ONLY reason FFXV did as well as it did, yet for the very next game in the series, they made it a one-man show. I don't care if it's open world, linear, turn-based, or a fusion. Give us characters to journey alongside.

Re: UK Charts: Nintendo Holds 12 Spots In The All-Formats Top 40

@DennyCrane Exactly. By Nintendo’s own admission it wasn’t the game it could have been because they had to both build up a team that could do it and had them work on a concept that they weren’t involved with from the start.

Prime 4 was obviously a much more expensive endeavor in the end than they ever set out for it to be but now they have a team with experience on a Prime game they should have a much smoother and streamlined process for a new one. Would be crazy to get a team set up for Metroid just to do something different after one game (especially one they didn’t get to pitch themselves). Sales figures be damned anyway- Nintendo keeps making Metroid games because of what the series represents for them and not because it’s a money spinner like Mario/Zelda etc.
