Red Candle Games has revealed that its horror title Detention is coming to the Switch.
Set in 1960s Taiwan under martial law, the game incorporates "religious elements based in Taiwanese/Chinese culture and mythology". The game has already been released on Steam and the NA PlayStation Store, where it has gained positive reviews. It also won the Journey award of INDIECADE as well as other prizes.

This is actually quite interesting. Gotta see more gameplay though. Hopefully more like Limbo and less Sam and Max.
I'll wait for reviews but it sounds promising.
It's an awesome and genuinly scary game. Shame couldn't make halloween, would of been perfect. Especially compared to the "horror games" we did get in time.
Don't have playstation or gaming pc, but was interested in this so I watched a Let's Play of the whole game. Was pretty awesome. Wonder if I should buy this to show my wife...
I watched about an hour of the game being played by some guys on YouTube for their scary game marathon for October, and it is definitely a game to recommend. It plays like a point and click adventure, but one that is logical and the puzzles are designed for you to figure them out fairly easily, or at least they are for the first hour. Absolutely nails the atmosphere.
@Kalmaro Pretty sure this already has overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam so no difference on switch.
@SnackBox All about how it translates to the Switch. Wouldn't be the first time a good game gets messed up by lousy porting.
This certainly looks different!
@Kalmaro Ahh yes, dead on there. Is there a general company that handles the ports of indie titles?
Similar to virtual console games on the Wii/Wii U?
I've almost bought this on Steam a number of times, as I genuinely love horror that gets away from the tired American-born themes and tropes that seem to dominate most of the genre, and this one looks great. Probably a day one buy on the Switch for me.
Count me in.
@ballistic90 So four hours total?
@SnackBox Beats me. I just hate when games that look good get ported and suddenly they are unplayable, for no reason. I just don't get that.
@BionicDodo I see what you did there.
@BionicDodo nah, strange internet connection issues. Maybe the game is haunted.
Reminds me of a Korean horror game, White Day. Which is suppose to get a sequel real soon. Hopefully that sequel will come out for Switch. But without any of the annoying bugs that plagued the console version of the first game.
Reminds me a lot of another game called The Cat Lady.
It looks impressive. Almost reminds me of Year Walk in a different kind of way. Looking forward to seeing/hearing more.
It looks pretty good.
Man I just got this and Moon Hunters on the steam sale for halloween. If I had known it was coming out for switch, I probably would have paid full price. Oh well
Looks interesting.
